In my teen years I lived Beach Combers. I now live near New Orleans LA and try to share memories of my youth and no one has any idea what I'm speaking about

Oh man…I loved Mr. Dressup! The crafting and the tickle trunk costumes were my favourite parts. I remember watching Mr. Dressup draw and being so amazed that everything that came out of HIS marker always looked so perfect. To this day, I am convinced that one episode actually showed us inside Casey and Finnegan’s tree house. But I have searched everywhere and cannot find that episode. My guess is that it’s just something little me wanted to see SO badly…that it became a memory of something that never happened. Thanks for another great flosstube!

The designer of the Narnia chart was given permission to create and distribute a certain amount of patterns by the CS Lewis foundation. That chart is no longer available, unless she receives the OK to distribute more. I doubt that though because she was already given that opportunity once to double her sales from 600 to 1200 patterns.

Yes to a Jacob MFE review! Would love to see what you’ve done and what you plan to do. I was working on some other WIPs, but there’s something so satisfying & soothing stitching a MFE design and I finally started A Fraktur Love Sampler with some Leo & Roxy thread. Puts me in a happy place!

Hello Ryan, thank you for another lovely video. I’ve mentioned before I’m not a cross stitcher but I do enjoy free style embroidery. Thank you so much for inspiring me to get my embroidery out again. I’m embroidering a centre block of my childhood home for a quilt. It made me smile when you showed us the small cross stitch of the wee house. It’s quite similar. I think I will try to join in the SAL but draw my own version for Lady man for free style… not even sure if that’s the right name for it. I am making a journal , with all the notes for quilts , written mostly on the backs of envelopes ,that my mam made when she was still with us. Finally my suggestion for your wee sampler at the beginning would be the cover of a needle case, then you could design a holder for your scissors to match. Take care and thank you again. 🍯🌸

Hi Ryan, your Narnia stitch is looking great. I also love your Ink Circles small piece and looking forward to see what you create with it, the colours are beautiful. I love your Casey and Finnegan cushions. I was a big Mr Dressup fan when I was young and then my children both loved him when they were little too. I have fond memories of making crafts that I learned on his show and then my kids did too. My oldest daughter always loved making guitars and violins from empty tissue boxes and elastic bands for the strings. So fun!!! Great video and I’m looking forward to your next.

Awesome video I love the little scissor fob your are making for the samlls exchange. In what seem to be a repeat occurrence for me, something you said in passing got me to understand something really profound about myself. You were trying to explain why you love Michelle Bendy and it got me to realize that though I only watch her floss tube I do love her, like a dear friend or family, and I tried to understand why, and as I was working through it, I realized that all the people I truly love, I love for this reason: She is unapologetically herself and she inspire others to be unapologetically themselves.

Ryan - loved your appearance with Ellen and just happened across your flosstube this evening … subscribed privately right away ( not interested in unknown trackers of my internet activity) . I truly enjoyed your first video - you were speaking spontaneously and sharing from the heart … the other two videos you were trying to keep to some format / catering to the public ( sharing the knitting / mitten cord at the end for example ). Not sure why you shouldn’t be able to share all of what you do and want to share in a natural way - it is all a part of you and shouldn’t be programmed into segments / a production of sorts. Also, giveaways and promoting companies that send free stuff to you … I truly prefer the people who share their beliefs without having to figure out who is influencing … again, just my opinion . Enjoyed listening and resting .. going through a bit of medical and internet issue these past months…hope you don’t mind …..

If my memory is correct, Ellen used a software program called MacStitch/WinStitch to turn images into a cross-stitch pattern. There are websites now that allow you to do the same thing. www.pic2pat.com is one that I've used with success. Best of luck!

Great eye! It's a living plant...Veriegated String of Hearts. I picked it up last summer and have been in awe at how much it's grown. Not quite sure how to manage it. haha

Hi Ryan, your Narnia stitch is looking great. I also love your Ink Circles small piece and looking forward to see what you create with it, the colours are beautiful. I love your Casey and Finnegan cushions. I was a big Mr Dressup fan when I was young and then my children both loved him when they were little too. I have fond memories of making crafts that I learned on his show and then my kids did too. My oldest daughter always loved making guitars and violins from empty tissue boxes and elastic bands for the strings. So fun!!! Great video and I’m looking forward to your next.
Oh yes! So many fond memories. I understand that Casey and Finnegan left the treehouse many years later and someone else moved in. That show was such a delight.

I love your flosstube! Your projects are lovely. I got a new puppy a few weeks ago and named him Finnegan, after the puppet I loved as a child. Those pillows are awesome!

I totally understand why you laughed at receiving your very own Finnegan and Casey. I watched Mr. Dressup with my kids every day. Only Ellen could drag your affinity to that show out of you and make something near and dear to you. Ellen is a keeper!

Awesome video I love the little scissor fob your are making for the samlls exchange. In what seem to be a repeat occurrence for me, something you said in passing got me to understand something really profound about myself. You were trying to explain why you love Michelle Bendy and it got me to realize that though I only watch her floss tube I do love her, like a dear friend or family, and I tried to understand why, and as I was working through it, I realized that all the people I truly love, I love for this reason:

Another Canadian I'd like to recommend is Peacock &Fig. She is a great artist, also embroidery and designs fabric. But I love her cross stitch the most. You might want to check out her website. Ryan - loved your appearance with Ellen and just happened across your flosstube this evening … subscribed privately right away ( not interested in unknown trackers of my internet activity) . I truly enjoyed your first video - you were speaking spontaneously and sharing from the heart … the other two videos you were trying to keep to some format / catering to the public ( sharing the knitting / mitten cord at the end for example ).
Not sure why you shouldn’t be able to share all of what you do and want to share in a natural way - it is all a part of you and shouldn’t be programmed into segments / a production of sorts. Also, giveaways and promoting companies that send free stuff to you … I truly prefer the people who share their beliefs without having to figure out who is influencing … again, just my opinion . Enjoyed listening and resting .. going through a bit of medical and internet issue these past months…hope you don’t mind …..
LOL you are talking about seasonal stitching and I have been working on two different Christmas pieces today. I just seem to have a lot of Christmas/winter wips! But it is snowing in London today, so I think it is still okay! :). Can't wait to start Isabella's Heart, but I am participating in No New Starts this year, so I have to wait a bit! Yay for April babies! I'm nine days before you. And boo for snowing! We're dealing with a big snowfall dump this weekend in Toronto as well. To anyone who will stop to listen, I will say that it's been a totally Manitoba winter here this year. I don't recall ever seeing this much snow, and for such an extended period. If my memory is correct, Ellen used a software program called MacStitch/WinStitch to turn images into a cross-stitch pattern. There are websites now that allow you to do the same thing. www.pic2pat.com is one that I've used with success. Best of luck!

Great eye! It's a living plant...Veriegated String of Hearts. I picked it up last summer and have been in awe at how much it's grown. Not quite sure how to manage it. haha
