My Mama passed away two years ago. Everytime music like this played, she'd yank me on the floor to Jitterbug! This " young" lady is probably a blast to hang out with 🤗
My momma loved to jitterbug ! I always played the old songs like that when she & I got to hang out or ride in the car. Such sweet fond treasured memories. My mom passed Dec 20, 2017 & so many songs remind me of her!! 💕
I used to work in a care home for the elderly. Every Thursday night they had a singer come in & sing all these songs. They would put food & a few drinks on for them. Oh boy they absolutely loved it it was like giving them back their youth. It was a great care home they were always doing things with the residents.
I'm seventy and I still like to sing and dance to those oldies. I hope I will to my last day. You can't help but want to dance when "Runaround Sue" is playing.

I'm 74 so this brought back GREAT memories of my high-school days. See, no matter how old these articles are, they still share messages. See, us older people can still move it!!!!!!
I taught a memory retrieval class in our mental health facility for elderly Alzheimer's clients. I would put on songs from their generation and wow would they wake up... " Do you remember when you heard this song (Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy - Andrews Sisters) first? " "At the YMCA dance on Broadway in 1942... I met my first husband that night. " And would all get them talking. Amazing what they could remember. I would work my way through the years through music and dance. I loved seeing their minds come to life as they remembered bits and pieces.
She has probably since danced her way to heaven. Watching this always puts a smile on my face. She totally cracks me up when she says the “F” word. Gotta love our grandmas. 2020

She looks and dressed like my mom..who also loved music and dance, right up to 93. Had she not broke her hip, she would have lived to well over the century mark. I miss her every day❣
What spirit this granma has! When we went to a wedding one time, the twist played. OMG... my mom and granma (moms mom), were the center of attention! Lots of clapping and wolf whistles! What amazing times!
