Because it must be fantastic to know everyone in the world, because for the "smart" person to say that everyone is doing something is a sign that he knows everyone in the entire world...
It's all good to make a catchy title, but at least it's smart!

@@Chronixel I understand, but I don't like this "wisdom" of saying that everyone is doing it, everyone is talking about it, everyone wants it...
These are the types of phrases that alienate people because it is clear that it is just a decoy... and I don't think the use of these phrases is at all intelligent...
But it's just a simple opinion... there are probably people who like this type... Generally these social promoters and digital marketing people say that it attracts, that it's good, it produces engagement and things like that...
Believe me, for me and many people I know, this makes it go away right away!
But like I said, my young friend, it's just one opinion among many others... It's not remotely a censure or a complaint, much less wanting to tell you what's right or wrong...

The cost effectiveness was a big one for me... avoiding those $100 monthly fees is huge!
Today Resolve crashed, for the 2th time this year, but i don't edit daily. The fact is i didn't loose anything, and under 40sec i was back in the project. All the rest is fantastic-speed, organisation and design of the modules, finding macros over youtube 😅, finding wonderful tutorials for almost anything... I'm not a big fan of the nodes, but either layers wouldn't help me much here. Overall i understand the idea behind nodes, just need more practice, and sadly didn't got the time... The program itself offers great value for its price.
Yes! , I love that autosaves happen rapidly, so it’s very rare that you lose anything in edit.
I switched just over 1 year ago and it's life changing! I can get projects done in half the time it took me with Adobe Pr/Ae ... which is just a horrible, confusing, performance hog, and unstable. I'm using BMD panels/mixers now which help also but they integrate flawlessly ... auto detect install and go! I didn't have to do anything in Resolve, plug and play.

Used PP for almost 15 years, then switched a couple of years back. Just the BM hardware makes it worth it.
I like Resolve: its colour correction tools are excellent but I use PP for a number of reasons. One: I use the entire suite of Adobe products, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Bridge, After Effects, Adobe Character Animator, Audition, Dreamweaver, and InDesign. I do a lot of Multicam editing as I shoot live theatre, concerts, and dance shows. I use 3-5 cameras. Resolve is not always reliable syncing cameras, neither is PP. I use Plural Eyes to sync audio as in addition to the cameras I use two audio recorders , one to record from the house mixer, the other to record with a mic on the edge of the stage. I find the Multicam workflow in PP is a bit better.
@@TakeElite I pay $49 CDN. Plural Eyes is a one time payment. I don’t know how much I paid because I’ve had it for many years.
The only reason, if you're getting into video editing today, to go into the Adobe world is if you want to go pro. Adobe still reigns supreme when your goal is to work for a studio or professional production house; the vast, vast majority of them are still Adobe shops. If, however, you're editing for fun, personally for UA-cam, or really anything where you're not looking to hire or be hired onto a production team, you'd have to be nuts to choose Adobe. The cost is eye watering, there are no perpetual options, it's less (must less) stable, it's slower, it's a ridiculous pain to move between all the Adobe applications when you want to go from cutting to grading to graphics.
Davinci and Adobe were both released tomorrow with the features they have today, Adobe wouldn't even be in the race; just about everyone would choose Resolve. If they were both released tomorrow for the first time and the pricing was as it is today, I'm not sure anyone would even look at Adobe. So, you want me to pay 10X as much for software that's less stable, slower, clunkier and I can never own, only subscribe??? Yeah, sounds like a great deal.
Good points and well said, I feel for short form edits a lot of people choose CapCut too. But DaVinci just offers beginner utility as well as advance. I like the potential to grow as an editor with DaVinci.
@@Chronixel CapCut is really awesome software, if you're goal is quick, easy, and very good, CapCut needs to be on the list, no question. Davinci, as you said, you can "grow into", anything you see in a Hollywood level production you can, in almost every case, do in Davinci. Do you need it? For most people, "no". But if you want to "grow into a big boy editor", Davinci is almost certainly the right choice. There are really only 3 "pro level" choices, Premier, Davinci, Final Cut. With Premier coming in at multiples of the price, you have to have a real good reason to wade into that ecosystem today; the only good reason that I can think of is "I want to be a professional".
I asked a pro VFX artist the other day, how much PP/AE was used in the film or any other pro industry. He said no one uses it. I then said I had heard that PP/AE was used a lot in TV studios. He said no.
And it makes sense, as Adobe made a huge deal out of promoting Deadpool was made in Premiere Pro/AE. Deadpool 2 was then made with Avid (and other tools of course), so that didn't last long!

After 5 years of using Adobe Software I have just switched -) - I am happy - now I am considering Pro - new AI features are amizing.
I am switching. But the idea of learning too many things from scratch is a kinda obstacle. Even its user friendliness requires familiarizing with something new. I am making videos similar to the one behind your back. 😊

I love Adobe Premiere, but as a non-pro moviemaker, I hated the greed. I have now tried DaVinci Resolve during a couple of years. It is quite a steep learning curve, but -- it is free. So far I hate the nodes, but won't give up easily😉.
Nodes can be daunting at first, but once you wrap you head around it, you'll realize how powerful it is.
I am new to editing and I use the free DaVinci Resolve. Can you provide me with some UA-cam channels from which I can learn to use the program and creative movements?
I've used Premiere for 23 years and wanted to try something new. I've had a ton of crashes with DR since last year compared to Premiere, but I've hung in there with lots of patience. Just trying to get around Fusions node system again last week.
23 years wow!! It took me a bit. But I never experianced crashes with DR
@@Chronixel yup since Premiere version 4 on a Mac 9500. Got a lot of corporate/commercial gigs with that little setup. So much has evolved. I just put together a new system. A 30 sec commercial with a lower third title would take 4 hours to render back then. Now, 17 seconds lol.

Use the DVE effect on the edit page or in Fusion.
Just made a video about why I'm sticking with Premiere Pro... dun dun DUN! No but seriously been wanting to help editors choose the right program specifically to go professional and get a job. I've worked a lot of freelance editing gigs with a team which relies on Premiere for collaborative features and because the clients' roots are already in premiere. But I must say I like Davinci for less stress as a solo creator or solo filmmaker. Especially for the price. Great video! Well said

@@Chronixel Cheers! Yeah, I agree. With more tutorials about Resolve, it's definitely going to be a more popular option than it was 2 years ago though. I don't know which will stay on top but they both force each other's owners to make a better product and update constantly so editors should win from the competition

I have been using Avid Media Composer for years and still do to edit my videos, I have used resolve only to color grade my log footage and or add some titles, I then edit all my footage in media composer as resolve is a great finisher but a terrible editor. The way I see it as an editor resolve is way overhyped.
I work off of a portable hard drive and I love that I can move between my laptop and desktop computer with only having to export the timeline and import on the other machine. Exports are so much faster than Premier too without the monthly fees.

Working from an external drive on multiple machines is literally better in premiere.. no export needed.. simply plug and play
Just wondering, that noise reduction feature, could it separate wind noise from wave rumble or it just works with voice?
It's very configurable, however, if the wind noise is so bad that you're clipping, it's going to be hard to recover everything that was there before. It's good, but it's not magic, if you're mic is clipping, the data is gone, Davinci can help you hide the loss, but, it'll never be as good as unclipped audio.
i'm sure it's a great program but resolve doesn't like my crappy laptop (8Gb RAM, integrated graphics)
premiere pro runs just fine (sure, small projects, and if my projects got way bigger i guess pp would chug like crazy but like i say, at least it runs)
resolve won't even open, just gives me a sniffy message about my rig being not to its liking

I use Vegas 20 which is better in my opinion to both premiere and daVinci resolve tho the Vegas 21 may have the AI things that 20 didn’t get. Vegas pro 20 tho for me was only $168 for a lifetime license… I can skip a few versions and buy it again later on without the subscription fee… if davinci resolve updates their “one time purchase” to be able to get lifetime free updates to the latest version, I’d drop the $400 right now.
Hey I actually made my first video ever with Sony Vegas many years ago!
I believe there is free updates tho. I bought DaVinci Resolve 17 and it’s been updating to for me for free. It’s at DaVinci resolve 18.6 now
DaVinci is a one-time fee. All upgrades have been free. And it's $295, not $400.

CapCut is definitely the most beginner friendly.
I’ve noticed a reduction in export quality sometimes with CapCut.
I used CapCut still sometimes with their captions. But not fond of the compression and minimal export settings.
@@Chronixel i went from premiere, to davinci, back to premiere... and now.. to capcut.. it's because all my clients now want to make videos for tiktok with that aesthetic (subtitles, text to speech, fxs) and well...

I use capcut for simple edits, davinci for more complex projects like client work
I do not like capcut at all personally.
