This looks like Windward Passage Hotel down town. That storm surge can be seen in the beginning- the entire waterfront 4 lane road is not visible!
If this is where I think it is, it's on the South side of the island. Imagine the North East side - it was hit even harder.
Also on the South side (but further East) was the hospital. It lost its roof, which was concrete! They are waiting for a Navy hospital ship to arrive to transfer patients.
Best wishes for all affected. I'm still trying to reach my mom and family on the North side.

that is the Windward passage hotel in down town waterfront..looks real bad...i noticed the power pole was there and now gone!!!!
Andrew Ripley did you notice that storm surge as well- waterfront is completely gone. Looks like pictures of the 1800s when the boats could come right up to Main Street

Does anyone have friends and family in ST Thomas? If so, how are they doing? I have a friend who is very worried. I'm not sure if he is in contact with his family
Yasmin E my mom is there plus other family and friends. I haven't been able to reach her or anyone else who lives in her area.
I've got former students who are on Facebook. Some are ok, others they can't reach.

I've heard that the North East area of the island is really bad. I haven't seen any pics though. This video is of a hotel downtown. That's the South side of the island so that wasn't hit as hard.
