Finally someone reports on something that the hurricane affected rather than what it would affect.
amen
My point being the island of Barbuda was 95% underwater and is no longer habitable but I heard no one talk about it
Justin Jaikaran It's cause it isn't as populated as the areas that are about to get hit.
Justin Jaikaran doesnt barbuda have like 1000 people that live on it? I think its more important to focus on the higher population areas, and places that haven't been hit yet at that to make sure the people still have a chance at taking shelter in the correct way...
nhyijy yeah but that's a thousand people that have to move to a new island. Every human life matters
This is super sad
This is so sad. Went there for our honeymoon in 2013', stayed dutch side. Such a beautiful place and the people are so kind! Praying for everyone! 🙏🏼
Sorry to everyone who has been damaged or hurt by this. Much love to you.
Fuji Ninja i love you too.
It's really sad how some people were just born on this island and stayed on the island and then this happens. House gone. Resources gone. Utilities gone. Now if they rebuild it, and another hurricane comes through (chances are high), everything will get destroyed again. How disheartening and ominous that must feel. There must be many who are thinking of picking up and leaving. But that's almost impossible for many. And those who make the trip into the unknown, especially those who have to think about their kids, or old folks... I have so much respect for you. Most people can't even imagine how hard it is to leave everything and go looking for something better for your family because they have no idea what they are getting into. This isn't about moving to a different state, where the language and the paperwork is the same. I'm referring to those who have to move countries and then don't have any of their education/experience/language recognized. All this, because of where they were born. Godspeed to those who brave the unknown and to those who brave the known foreboding dangers.
Can you explain how helicopters from Dubai can make it all the way there?
I'm trying to check Lo C's legitimacy.
Lo C, can you post this on reddit please, under r/TropicalWeather
boreduser12 this is true I am from Saint Martin I'm an American was living there I'm currently on a ship to America about 4000 Americans still on island trying to leave. I had to leave my husband behind because he's French. . I just get on the ship today. I can confirm what this person is saying there is so much devistation please help Saint Martin
Ahhh so sad, I was there not long ago and it was such a beautiful and lively place.
God help any affected by this storm, you all are in my prayers 🙏🏻
So sad. I visited St. Martin this summer on a cruise and it was such a lovely place full of friendly people. I wish them a speedy recovery.
So what? Are the dislikes from hurricane Irma supporters?
ZettabyteHero idk maybe they didn't like seeing the destruction or knowing that 1000's of people lives have been altered or worse are dead
ZettabyteHero No I disliked it because I'm a jealous hurricane sandy supporter. Sandy will always be better than Irma, Harvey, Katrina, and Andrew combined.
Often times people dislike what is in the video. "I dislike hurricanes and destruction, so I should dislike this video". Generally older or out of touch people will do this.
burgerman Deadass though. Sandy > any other hurricane. I was in NYC when the whole thing was going in. Helped out in the aftermath.
They're mad at a mysteriously cruel God of theirs...
The damage is terrible!
So sad.... this is one of the most beautiful Island I ever been to. May God bless with a speedy recovery.
Thoughts are with you guys, and soon with Florida as well. I hope for all of your well being.
So sad how much Destruction a Hurricane can cause, I know from personal experience with Hurricane Sandy. My prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Irma.
Same thing happened here in our country, the philippines, during the devastation of typhoon haiyan (2013). 8,000 people killed. One city, Tacloban, was almost erased from the map. 95% of infrastructures there are gone.
Earl Nodalo I didnt know that
Izzy G news coverage was very small stateside
Turquoise Cheetah Pretty sure Japan isn't a white country, yet that got tons of news coverage.. your point?
I knew that it happened just not that it was that bad. Wow now I feel bad
Turquoise Cheetah lmao. Youre a joke
went for vacation in february, some of the friendliest locals in the caribbean and it was so gorgeous, i'm very sad to see this and will be donating as much as i can, much love to all the islands
Ian Reed Don't donate to the red cross
We will be coming on a cruise ship in 2019! We will be buying anything we can from the locals. We love your island!!!
Jennifer Leone yes jenny pump that money in the economy ✊🏿
Lol how about something before 2 years from now
Jack LaBarge I have a cruise scheduled.... I can’t just pick up and go there.. plus no way to get there right now... no cruise lines, no airplanes... I hope you were joking.
HEART BREAKING !!
There just isn't any other words.....
except GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU !!
Let's hope some country's military arrives soon to rapidly repair runways and loading docks so airlifted and sealifted international relief supplies and a field hospital can arrive soonest to help these islanders. This island's economy is heavily dependent upon tourism and they will miss this winter's tourism income -- many islanders will be without jobs until tourist lodging/restaurants/shops are rebuilt and beaches cleared of debris. This island will need many volunteers to help with clean-up and construction of temporary housing for the many who lost their homes.
Prayers for the people of St. Martin and anyone else affected by the last two hurricanes
Praying for everyone
Turquoise Cheetah it will give them the strength they need to rebuild
Where can one send items for recovery and relief to these people?
Verónica Puerto Rico I don't think you can send items, but you can send money to some organizations
Verónica Puerto Rico first off when there is a natural disaster people rush to make money off of victims so don't do that, support it via the red cross
July 5th 1984 • 9.7M views the Red Cross does the same, they use 20% of the money donated to help
Higher Soul Yes, I've been there and it is beautiful island... this so sad. Found the PR group that sends food, clothing... tomorrow they leave to st marteen.. ❤
July 5th 1984 • 9.7M views No not red cross. They are a profit organization and the guys on the top are FILTHY rich.
It's sad to see such a beautiful place in a state of disrepair.
No! I've been there and I recognize some of the places affected. So sad, will be donating
It was one of our favorite islands. Hope they can put it back together.
Great video to help everyone.
It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor natural disasters spare no one & at the end of the day were all equal trying to recover &survive
It's crazy I was just there two weeks ago, such a beautiful place too.
God Bless you all! Wishing you all a speedy recovery!
*Incredible.*
My god, I've been there, it was several years ago, but it is such a beautiful place. I can't believe this is happening to people.
I went here once, I remember going down some of these roads.
Bless up 🙏🏿
No internet but how did you post it?
"We have nothing left" followed by.... "There is a lot of damage." Hmmmmm.
so sad. praying for everyone
My prayers got to you!!
Heartbreaking
The 2 boats in the end scene looked ok to me...
Despite the destruction and loses, most houses didn't receive a scratch, just the windows and roof because of the simple fact that they're made of bricks like every country in the world but USA, which is one of the most common countries to be hit by hurricanes and tornados.
AND WHY YOU KEEP BUILDING HOUSES MADE OF WOOD?
I know bricks are more expensive in USA, but if you live in a risk zone, you should take that in consideration.
Oh my god, bless everyone. Hope u are all safe. It's pretty terrible.
Even after this. We will rebuilt. Stay strong.
Prayers go out to you! Stay strong!
oo my god this is super sad
Aw man I loved that place
knowing then seeing how destructive nature can be is so frustrating because there's really no need words, explanations you can give victims of this devastation i mean...the psychology of this is unimaginable...everybody lets just be supportive we can do this people! ✊💪✊
Beautiful
Cant believe i was there 2 months ago
What state is this in
it's still a beautiful place.I have donated 5 million dollars from my company to saint martin.Im calling on all corporate owners to do the same.
stay strong!
I was supposed to go there on a vacation next month. I got refunds from hotels and I am now donating the money to locals in need.
People gotta stop living in that area. Every time hurricane season comes around they get devastated.
my parents were just there, very sad.
This is so sad. I wouldn't know what to do
This is actually similar to or worse than the casualties in the country I live in.
IM NEXT!!! WISH ME LUCK!!!
Where the electricity come from?
Poor people ;(
Life happens. Harsh, but true. It tests you, strengthens you, or breaks you. When you've lost everything but life, what else is there to fear?
Rebuild .courage people. Have faith.
God please help these victims 🙏🏻 So terrifying nature can be so harsh 😭
I would not wish what we experienced on saint martin/sint maarten and surrounding islands to anyone else! Almost 1 year later an I can still hear her deathly high pitched howls!!
Wow so scary. I never wana live like that forget it. Just visit the places
OMG 😭💔
we need more coverage of the territories that are not receiving funding from the mainland
That's crazy
If cnn was showing this i wouldnt believe it
😭😭😭😭I pray for you guys
was planning on flying there to go to the beach near the airport runway
Too sad 😔
I go here every 3 years and I was gonna go here in 2019
The only reason for the dislike because of the click bait, I wanted to see those nice houses
While there appears to be nothing left, you got a God, your life, and your soul ahead. I pray to God that people wake up and support one another. No not via monetary efforts, cash and money is fleeting just rebuild your homes and your life around a strong foundation which includes God and Jesus.
God with you 🙏
It was allowed, for what reason we don't know.
Aziza Raychouni God doesn't exist
TheCatLover Lord Repent from sin and turn to Lord Jesus Christ
TheCatLover Lord I believe he does
PurpleUnicornCat He doesn't whether you like it or not
My home 😭😭😭😭I just survived . I'm on a ship forced to leave I'm still in shock
"And now there is nothing, not even a piece of wood. Nothing..."
Soooooo sorry your home was destroyed, but you can rebuild, there are suitable building materials left in the rubble, plenty of wooden boards survived, as did metal sheets and some bricks.
It may be hard but you get with your community and you scavenge to build shelters for those without places to go, you set up camps and you try to clear and rebuild what was lost, not complain and say you have absolutely nothing left. People will always hate and people will always give up, but you can't give up, that's not what humanity is all about.
I'm so confused are hurricanes and Tsunamis the same thing? Or was it like the time when I thought Thunder and Lighting were the same?
I used to live there but in the Dutch part, my family still lives there and since the hurricane passed there, there's no communication. I haven't talked to them, so I don't know what is going on.😞
I read this as "St. Martin Islanders Survive Hurricane..." That made it a very disappointing watch. I hope for a speedy recovery.
Since powerful hurricanes are likely to go that way every year, I see no reason to live there.
Sad
No phone, no internet, somehow uploads phone videos to youtube
how do you know they uploaded the video at that location?
I was just there I'm glad I went there before it got destroyed
I'm in FL and it honestly wasn't bad at all, people who left arent real floridians.
Oh God! ;(
Dark Times we living in, very dark times
