I remember watching a documentary on the murder of Angie Dodge. In her case a man who was innocent was convicted of her murder and sent to prison. Angie’s mother ended up believing in the man and helped to have him released. I was impressed with the mom and how hard she fought to find the TRUTH. She made a statement that stuck with me …. She said ,” I don’t want SOMEBODY to pay for killing my daughter, I want the person who killed her to pay for it !”
I think I’m so many cases the police and even the victim’s families just want somebody, anybody to be convicted, rather than searching for truth.

This happens so often. Apparently AD ignore the Constitution where it says you are presumed innocent until proving you are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Everyone in this needs to know that.

It's also a huge insult that her brother Clint was just standing by posted up watching her get taken away. This case has ALWAYS boiled my blood. Honestly, every single time I listen to her case & her birthdate is mentioned, my ❤️ sinks bc Holly & I were born exactly 1 year & 2 days apart in age. I know that seems silly... it just really really hits me with this case.

He’d just waked up and had it in his head that it was her boyfriend. However, for the mother to go from “that’s not Drew” to “shoot him” immediately is quite a leap if she didn’t know who it was and that Holly was in danger.
Ugh, these small town "law enforcement" departments are always so freaking clueless when it comes to murder investigations - it's such a disservice to the victims & their families 😡😐☹️

And in big cities murders rarely get solved at all because of lack of resources and vast number of crimes happening.
Yes, I live in one and can contest to this. The TBI stated that it was the most expensive search in Tennessee history. Not one law enforcement officer found any clues at all. It was ordinary citizens that found clues and called them in to come out.
I was so confused with all the guys names. Would have been nice to keep their photos and names on the screen.

God I think of Holly BoBo a lot. This murder happened extremely close to me, and I remember hoping that she’d make it home alive. Such a tragedy. I hate that she still can’t rest in peace and that she nor her family will have justice.
Such a nice looking girl. People can be so cruel or do the most terrible things ...and there's no going back. Evil is sometimes found in places you would'nt believe. Hope you are doing allright. 🖖🍀
The TBI other LE and court did a terrible job all the way around. The only thing good to come from it , is her family got her remains for a proper burial. She has never received justice.
Evil is all around us, we just refuse to acknowledge it, or don't know what to look for. That's why I strongly suggest Citizens carry some sort of defensive weapon, be it a firearm, folding knife of size sufficient to cause serious harm to an assailant, or pepper spray. And don't hesitate to use it if your life is threatened. Don't bluff or threaten with it. The latter two, especially,
should be considered stealth weapons. As seen in Ms Bobo's case, you are not safe anywhere, not even in your own home or yard.
There’s a TED talk on YT about how accurate people are at spotting a liar. Compared to random luck, parents to social workers, to peers to cops all rated the same as the percentage of chance. Anyone can be fooled.
Even if you look at real behavioural experts, the number one thing I hear from the credible ones is “we can *not* tell you that they’re lying, only that there’s signs of stress that could be indicative of deception.”
I’ve heard something to that effect countless times. The ones who actually know what they’re doing know how to spot when something changes in a long conversation and dig into it, even the best can’t watch someone make a single statement or pair of statements and do anything better than guess at the credibility. And even with the best evidence it’s a game of probabilities not an exact science.
This is just purely insane, Dr Grande! The amount of time you dedicate to create this type of a content. From the bottom of my heart, I deeply appreciate what you do. You make my days&nights. Simply the best so far💎

The brother's actions are very suspicious in this case. He literally watched his sister being kidnapped and did very little to prevent it. It was suggested somewhere that he was involved with drugs and that he may have thought the assailant was connected to his dealer. It doesn't make sense that a brother would call around looking for instructions rather than simply act.
It was 100% Zach Adams. Jason Autrys testimony was the main reason he was convicted, not the confession.
@@penskepc2374 I have to say, when I watched the trial I felt that Jason Autry’s testimony was a pack of lies, but I also remember getting the impression that her brother Clint was not suspicious and was just groggy and confused

There's probably more to this case than Dr. Grande has put forward, but the police many times seem to take the easy way out. I strongly agree no witness should talk to police without a criminal lawyer, especially the innocent.

Wow this is crazy to hear. I was born and raised in Tennessee and I just remember for years(between 2011-2014) there would be coverage of her case on the local news at least once a week. at the time it was all about her 'disappearance.' To be grown now and hear all of this being what happened is crazy to hear.

Sounds like the police didn't know what the hell they were doing. Let's just pin this on this guy since there isn't enough evidence to get the first suspect. If I was the mom I would have been driving home the minute I got the call.
No, they have the right guys. If you do even an hour or so of research on this case and watch Jason Autrys testimony it's exceedingly obvious.
It does sort of seem suspicious that the mother's reaction was for the brother to shoot somebody before they knew that Holly was in serious danger. Getting the gun and confronting the person would have been the thing to do but instead they stay in the house and the mother orders the sun to Grabagun it all does snack of them knowing that they are at risk. For example and of course I have no idea whether it's true but for example if they were in the drug business and they were always worried about being double-crossed or being accused of cheating someone's Orab someone desperate coming to the house demanding free drugs or anything else. When you're engaged in major crime and a lot of money changes hands you're always at risk to die suddenly or have to kill somebody suddenly to save yourself. And that would explain the delay and the discussion and the not involving 911 right away and the mothers leave leaping to that conclusion. It would all seem as though they were worried about someone else in the drug business being hostile and endangering Holly for that reason. And they might have thought that the reason someone would argue with Holly and be confrontational was if they thought that Holly knew enough for someone to confront her and that there was someone who would confront her over something important such as drug money. Whereas if you know there's nothing like that happening and you're not at all sure that's her boyfriend and her boyfriend has just called the house to say I'm turkey hunting and is it okay then you might be much more likely to lead to the conclusion that there is a strange mail in your house who is confronting your daughter who sounds very upset. That's a 911 or at least go out there with a gun and confront the stranger to run him off. And yes the stranger might pull a gun but if it were my sister and I had a gun I would take that chance. And I think no matter how groggy you are as soon as you realize that your sister's life may be in danger you snap to it pretty quickly. And if you don't and your mother says that that's the case your mother shakes your teeth out or grabs the gun herself if they give a damn and they don't have a reason to think that the retaliation will put their own lives in danger even if they run the stranger off. Something stinks. I do think that the loan man Terry Britt probably did the job and all this other stuff is the reason why she wasn't saved and he wasn't caught. I don't think small town law enforcement is at all necessarily lazy or crooked or incompetent. But if there are a lot of undercurrents in the community where everyone knows who's into cooking meth and who's buying and distributing then they may be afraid to speak up. And small town law enforcement are by definition part of a small army of Law enforcers and have every reason to be scared of the local meth cartel. And that may be why they were anxious to put someone away and not to threaten anyone they thought might have actually done it. That's what happens in a small town. It is a tiny Nation onto itself and Justice in Mexico if the drug cartels bigger than law enforcement and law enforcement cooperate and keep their mouths shut. Likewise if the richest person in town is molesting his daughter and everybody keeps quiet and cooperate because in a tiny environment like that someone who was extremely influential and Wealthy Michael be a dictator in many ways. At the least, a celebrity

I live in a neighboring county to where this happened. It was heartbreaking to see her mother's unimaginable grief. A beautiful life, taken for no reason. The testimony of Jason Autry convicted Zachary Adams. In it, he claimed Holly's brother was, "learning to make meth the morning she was taken..." which is why this man was at the home. He said she nagged her brother over this, and then she was killed...Smh. Are we to believe that Adams murdered Bobo, but refuse to believe the meth making part? Treat the testimony like a buffet, pick and choose what you want, and ignore the rest?

Very unfair to blame her brother. He just woke up. He thought it was her boyfriend. And honestly, if the mother was so alarmed, why didnt she grab the gun and defend her daughter? I own a 9mm - I'll use it to defend against intruders. I wouldn't ask my son to do it for me and allow my daughter to be abducted. Her brother is a human being, not a robot soldier. Just because he is commanded to shot someone, doesn't mean he should have.
Just throwing blame at a man that lost his sister is how investigations go wrong from the start. Law Enforcement did a TERRIBLE job. They just want to round up, people they already want to arrest and blame them.

This case is so bizarre. It's always stuck out to me. What kind of brother doesn't go save his sister? I never considered he was lying before but why would he lie about that? Just very confusing.
This comment is unrelated to the video. I still have your old videos on mental health topics come up on my algorithm on You Tube, and I am reminded how helpful, instructive aand well researched they are. You were able to clearly explain mental health conditions in a way that was both professional, intellectual and experiential while making things very clear for a person who may not really know much about the mental health condition being discussed. I would really like to see more of those videos mixed in with the true crime. I like the true crime videos, but I also like the more didactic videos as well.

Clint was SUCH a fool and a coward. He couldn't even open the door and say HEY WHAT'S GOING ON? He knew his sister had a very important nursing exam that day and would not be walking into the woods! And Terry looks NOTHING like Drew. I'd disown Clint if he was my son, what a freaking pansy and I hope he feels guilty bc he SHOULD. I also don't think he's being entirely truthful about what he saw.

Carl Jung would call this _synchronicity._ Basically, he says there are no coincidences, and there are only signs pointing to a pattern. Either your subconscious ego is trying to be heard, so to speak, and is showing you an answer you didn't consciously know, or, certain events will always correspond in a particular order.
Arnold Zwicky would call it _frequency illusion,_ based on cognitive bias and affirmation bias (maybe it was confirmation bias). You recognize things you know and then you attach meaning to it, while attaching no meaning to unfamiliar ideas or insignificant thoughts. So, hearing about something you have no meaning attached to, goes unnoticed and thinking of things that don't come up again also goes unnoticed. You notice the correlation between your thoughts and a video that's in your feed shortly after.
If you ask me, I'm going to say it's both on this idea. And the pattern is that Dr. G often talks about cases relevant to popular culture. _20/20_ just talked about this case. This brings people to the posts and articles that are related both from advertising and people searching the case. Then people are talking about it and you don't notice the first occurrence if you are not paying attention to it in particular. Then you subconsciously think about it and finally, you mull it over in your head consciously. And eventually, coincidences occur. Or maybe you both saw the same thing, it's not that slim of a chance. And even if it was completely random, it's the kind of case you would be interested in and that's also why you watch this channel.
Where’s all the physical evidence that the police should have collected? If there was a palm print then there should have been DNA evidence at the site and probably also on the body and the items that the killer discarded. In this day and age we should demand good physical evidence or good reasons why it couldn’t be obtained.
As for confessions, they really shouldn’t be accepted by courts if they haven’t been made in the presence of a lawyer acting for the suspect. There’s just too long a history of olive pressuring suspects or just simply verballing them.

This story is not a surprise, and it hurts. I have served as a jail chaplain. It is painful to hear someone's story of innocence and know it is absolutely true. Police prey on people with learning disabilities. They are easy to confuse, frighten and force a false confession. >> The bunny looks like he will take no sh-t from no bunny. Great job Doc. There was a real absence of the mention of drugs in this case, yet the crazy rumors about the brother and even bf seem to float around without being addressed by the mother or police. The witness testimony was thoroughly disgusting. They sanitized this case for sure to facilitate a conviction. They make sure to say that the brother leads a good life...now. As for the witness, he should have gotten life just on his own testimony.

I followed this distressing case for quite a while, and was relieved when a suspect was actually charged and convicted. I didn't know about the discrepancies, however. Very concerning. I would like to say I'm not comfortable tarring all law enforcement officers with the same brush, though. As in all walks of life, there are those who are honorable and capable, and those who aren't.
I have no issue doing it. The ones who arent "complicit" at this point are presumptively accepting and agreeing unless they are doing , on their part, things or thing that is dependant on the Situation etc

The holly bobo case has bothered me since I first became acquainted with it, and despite its seemingly incongruous resolution, in light of the evidence/facts of the case, there’s surprisingly not as much coverage about it as one might expect. I’m so glad you finally covered it and saw as many issues with the case as I did. In my opinion this was one of the worst cases of false confession/wrongful conviction in a murder case that I’ve ever seen. Seriously troubling….😒

I am at home 2day with a fever and sore throat, and am looking 4ward to my "Dr. Grande Marathon Viewing Session" going back at least 3 years (watching BOTH episodes I have already seen AND episodes yet unseen)! I enjoy re-watching old episodes almost as much as I enjoy watching new episodes because I inevitably learn something new AND the jokes and dry wit are always a treat, whether it is my 1st time watching, my 2nd, my 3rd, my 4th....ad infinitum! 😃
On another note, I 100% 💯 believe that the brother (Clint) IS EITHER lying about what happened that morning OR is as dumb as a box of rocks. His story (both about what he saw and what he did that morning) flies in the face of ALL logic and reason. 😳
What did Clint REALLY see and do? Did the police, reporters, an interested party, or an amateur sleuth within or without the community look into Clint?
What I want to know includes, but is not limited to, the quality of his relationship with his sister, his criminal history (or lack thereof), the family dynamic behind closed doors, Clint's feelings towards Holly (was there any jealousy between them, or favoritism by the parents towards one over the other?), to give just a few examples.
After all, Clint was (according to Clint) the last person (other than the killer) to see Holly alive and well that day. The investigation timeline 🔎 was therefore based on HIS story. I wonder: did the police ever question Clint's story/put IT under a microscope? I don't know if the police officers and detectives involved in this case thoroughly examined and vetted Clint's "story," or if they merely accepted it as fact from Day One. However, Clint's version of events, as Dr. Grande points out here, does not make sense. DID Clint lie? If so, WHY? Was it to protect himself? To protect his friends or family? Because he was threatened by one or more person(s)? OR, RATHER, was Clint TRYING to be accurate in the retelling of what happened that day, but was simply unable to do so because he is SEVERELY intellectually challenged, logic-challenged, street-smarts challenged, on-drugs-24-hours-per-day-challenged, and/or memory challenged, such that knowing and then telling the truth was impossible? 🤔

Matter of fact, I'm a musician for my living, and not only did I meet Steven Tyler, he actually asked me to play a surprise birthday party that he was having for a friend! He was incredibly kind, and so warm and approachable, just like you, because he's also from Boston! My boss, one of my son-in-laws, several of the musicians I play with in a few bands, and even a few family members married people from Boston! All of them, people that are so easy and fun to be around! I'm so happy you replied! It's fun together new people and think about where they live, or what their lives might be like.. Hi Dr Grande! Hi Phil! i wanted to shine some light to what happened in Brazil yesterday with you, since you have this big platform and could hopefully bring some awareness to this. Yesterday a male anesthesiologist, 32 year old, raped (and was caught on camera) a woman undergoing a C section, while she was sedated. This went on for 10 minutes. He was arrested at the hospital but i mean, all this was going on WHILE THE OPERATION WAS HAPPENING. I didn’t see any international coverage on this matter. I hope you can help! 💗
The suspect is of a certain ethno-religious group and this type of behavior is quite common among them. Best you learn and avoid them. Peace!
Wow. I’m glad I came across this. I have not heard any of these details and just thought these two were guilty. Unbelievable. Being a true crime fan, I’m astonished at the amount of people in law enforcement and the judicial system that are absolutely content with putting people that may be innocent away for life while letting a killer walk free just to have a case “solved”. That being said, I don’t know if these guys are guilty or not, definitely leaning towards not now but a jury did convict them. So that tells you how well jury’s work. They really go on their feelings. I would opt for a bench trial if I were ever accused of a crime I didn’t commit.
