      Not like you aren't already the awsomest (contested maybe by ECAbrams), but this was exceptional fun, gave me inspiration and found instant usage in Plan B for a micro animation, the first draft of which I had miserably failed in. Thank you so much!

    I'm sure you already know this Ben, but something I didn't know for several years of doing MOGFX, is you can automatically center the anchor point of a layer by selecting the layer and hold (cntrl/cmnd) while double clicking the Pan Behind Anchor Point tool icon in the tools panel.

    This is awesome! One thing I added to give it more of a 'filmy' 70's look is applying a Lumetri Color effect and under 'creative' I changed the look to one of the film simulations (I went with Fuji ETERNA 250D)

    After Effects requires a lot of skill.
    It's taken me 20 years to learn, and I'm still learning.
    Fuckwits that think they can do motion graphics because they know how to download a template are in for a surprise.

    • @sirzebra
      @sirzebra 2 роки тому

      After effects is a complex program that demands time to master because most of its interface is downright backwards, but having fun inside of it like demonstrated here is indeed something you could do with minimal knowledge ie : no skill. You and I and anyone else that starts to learn this program was the "f-wit" you're talking about at some point, so chill with the gatekeeping dudebro routine, and dont try and pretend you need 20 years to get results in AE 2022, it's just not the nightmare it was a decade ago.

    • @TryptychUK
      @TryptychUK 2 роки тому

      @@sirzebra If find it practically little different to what it was ten years ago.
      The additional bells and whistles are useful, but not essential. My point was, people that think they can be an expert overnight are wrong. Ditto Photoshop.

    • @sirzebra
      @sirzebra 2 роки тому

      @@TryptychUK ah well sorry i guess your point got lost in translation for me. I dont think anybody looks at this type of software thinking they'll do anything they want with it in a couple weeks tho, but at the same time, i feel powerusers shouldnt make it some mythical beast that can't be tamed or mastered, and the fact that you can still learn new things or ways to do the same things différently everyday is actually the most interesting parts of deep softs like AE. To me it's mostly différent in that it doesnt crashes every 7minutes anymore, wheter on a huge workstation or a simpler pc, i know my sanity levels have reached an all time high since it's mostly stable :D

    • @TryptychUK
      @TryptychUK 2 роки тому

      @@sirzebra Crashes are generally due to underpowered computers. Computers have become considerably more powerful over the years, whereas AE has not changed that much, apart from moving to 64 bit.
      Learning AE is fairly easy, but mastering it takes years. The trouble is, there are too many lazy bastards out there that want instant gratification but are not willing to put the time and effort in, and rely on templates, presets and plugins. And the results end up looking like shit.

    • @sirzebra
      @sirzebra 2 роки тому

      @@TryptychUK Tell that to my 15k workstation in 2010 ahah. The 64bit switch is what made it viable, but i know user experiences varied wildly at that point, you must've been on the lucky side (i've been for a few projects aswell where my coworkers next to me were constantly ripping their hair off and i was fine, we called it "the cosmic lottery of ball breaking pain". (we all used prety much the same exact high end expensive workstations)
      Lazy "bastards" that use templates and for which the end result look like shit are not competition for power users. they dont "steal" your clients or your work. I agree with the fact that if they stay at the template modding stage they miss out on the core power of AE, but i dont get the salty language you use about such users.
      I'm happy using my bike to go from point A to point B and dont expect a Tour de France racer to talk condescendingly to me when we meet along a road ahah.

    Hey! I have an issue that I never had before but when I play my video the picture and sound slows down and speeds up again and again (despite the green bar being fully loaded) and in the "info" window on the side it tells me that it doesn't read in real time
    I can only fix it by changing the "ignore" tab (in the preview window) from 0 to 1 or more, then theres no more realtime playback issues but it plays the video like Im editing in 10fps. I'm working on a new macbook pro (one month old) M2 2022 24G RAM 1T storage, I'm using After Effects 2020.
