I am a pianist and I enjoy your harpsichord version even more, than any piano version I've listened to. Maybe expect Schiff's one, which is comparable in the level of interpretation but way too different. As a pianist I have to admit, that the harpsichord played your way is much more suitable for this piece than piano. Love it so much!
Average commenter: I have actual musical knowledge and legitimate questions about some of the choices in this arrangement... Me (looking up bleary eyed from my troglodyte den): Oooh, ooh, me like pretty sounds.
+zinktitanum Yes, maestro Hieronymus Albrecht Hass builted instrument in 1734 with 16". later he builted 3 manual harpsichord (1740) 16", 8",8",4". These harpsichords are the largest harpsichords before 20th century.
The Hass family also built harpsichords with 2' stops, and harpsichords with three 8' stops, and a 4' playable from the lower and when coupled lower and upper manual
Nice interpretation, but the serious audio compression artifacts (grunchy gurgling that sounds as if a clean vinyl record was played here with an extremely dirty record pickup needle) unfortunately spoil the enjoyment for me. Long live Qobuz!
Depends on the instrument. Harpsichord sound decays faster than piano sound, so harpsichords are played faster. The instrument in this recording is large and has an extremely powerful but less clear sound. All this makes the performance "feel" faster
Herr Andreas Staier is a marvelous musician.
Veramente bella ed equilibrata interpretazione, il 16' piedi mi piace moltissimo! Ottimo Andreas🙏🌊⚘️ 🎶 🎵 eccellente!
This is a brilliant piece of work. I listen to it every single day

I'm glad you feel this way. The piece was intended for harpsichord and not piano 😊

@@marcussfebruary9104 this concert was wrote for violin.
Thanks for sharing Ria.
Excellent performance.
You are very welcome, Zeno!
I like all the extra trills in the tuttis of the first movement.
Amazing harpsichord from sound. Brings new dimensions to the work.
Fantastic rendition!!!
Wonderful harpsichord!
tempo idoine et jeu perlé,admiration profonde
Fabulosa, incrível interpretação!
Perfect tempo, and perfect timbre of orchestra and solo! Could be a little more stingy with the 16' stop, though...
Priceless.
Cudesno izvodjenje!Bravo!

So it's a 3-manual harpsichord?! I only knew about pedal harpsichords which have 16”. Amazing!
D or Db? Sounds more like Db...
+Pedro Sollero The tuning is A=415hz, so it sounds a semitone lower.
Tuning in Leipzig during J S Bach's life A=421hz as well as 415.

Hmmm I dont know... This is so good, but I still prefer Pinnock’s recording.
Pinnock is brilliant, but what about Christophe Rousset rendition?
Trop mou. Cette version est bien plus dynamique : ua-cam.com/video/XcsfDxojdV8/v-deo.html
Way too fast.
Aaaah, how can you not enjoy this tempo, this is so great and full of energy :D
Antoine Gaillard Bach's tempo is divine. This rendition sounds way too fast.

And I love it
