I own a j-50, they are extremely underrated. The modern reissues have thicker necks, the originals can be had for similar prices, especially if you go for the 70s ones and they have slimmer necks. Go for what fits your hand best, but if you ever get the chance, play one, they are really awesome.
I see you play a lot of J-50's, you are very good by the way, you caught my attention because I have a Gibson J-50, I think its a 1965, might be earlier, my father gave it to me in 2014, my grandfather bought it new in the 60's, Halifax NS. I searched the serial number, Kalamazoo in 1965. The memories of family members are sketchy, and Gibson was bad with the record keeping and serial number usage. Keep up the good work!
