Welcome to the musical genius of Dave Matthews and yes the lead singer. For Amber that is a soprano saxophone, looks like a clarinet but it is a higher pitched sax. Songs for Dave Mathews (all of them lol) but some of my favs are "#41", "What would you say", "Busted Stuff", "Grey Street", "Where Are You Going", "You Never Know", "Captain", "Raven", "Grace Is Gone", "Digging a Ditch", "Big Eyed Fish", "Bartender" , "Crash Into Me", "The Space In Between", "Crush", "Satellite", "Stay"..... Seriously I have to stop but I could keep naming them. There are so many artists that deserve a rabbit hole venture from you guys and he is one of them.
Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds playing "Bartender" recorded live at Radio City Hall will make the hairs on your arms stand at attention. Dave plays acoustic and Tim plays slide acoustic -- just them and Dave's stellar vocal performance is enough to give one chills. They often play it but the Radio City vid is the best, I think.
All right. I hate that reactors do studio versions of some DMB songs. This is one of them, but Bartender with Tim and Dave at radio city music hall is the best thing ever. But man. Include a link. Put a fucking link in there man. Make it easy for someone to give a shit. Don’t make them hunt it down. Absurd. Tim Reynolds, and Dave Matthews Band live at Radio city music Hall. Absolutely fantastic. ua-cam.com/video/JphjsCqsZ4Q/v-deo.html
I’m so so happy you’re finally getting to Dave Matthews Band!! I can’t wait for you to dive deeper down this amazing rabbit hole and check out the live performances as well because they do not have a bad song in their entire catalogue ❤ I’ve honestly been waiting for you two to discover this and fall in love with this incredible band. They are so talented and honestly, the best live band I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen many. Amber, that was the great Leroi Holloway Moore on the sax. He sadly passed away in a vehicle accident in 2008, but my man could BLOW on so many wind instruments for this band ❤ RIP
This is crazy. My wife and I were sitting at lunch at a place and Don't Drink the Water was playing and I wondered if y'all had started the DMB journey. Ants Marching is the perfect cut to start off with! So many great songs! I'm excited for you guys to dive in to their playlist. Their music is super meaningful with great messages. Agd of course everyone in the band are just stellar musicians.
Been waiting for you both to come across DMB. #41, Samuari Cop, You might die trying, Grey street with 3rd verse. The list of greatness this band has to offer is extremely lengthy. Look forward to seeing your reactions to this band in the future.
Yep that’s Dave singing! Those are all really really good musicians! They always kill every song they play and they play some very hard stuff. Great to hear this song again I missed these guys and it’s brings back a lot of memories. My favorite song from them is “satellite” it’s a slower song but it’s always good to hear and is a classic. Then I would listen to “crash into me” it’s also a banger! Great song and great reaction!
ive seen this band more than any other. i've seen them 8 times, chicago, indianaoplis, st louis, champiagn IL at the state farm center, formerly the Assembly Hall at the U of I. Always an amazing show
Stopped what I was doing and had to watch this. DMB, everyone is so massively talented. My favorite DMB? Dancing Nancies❣ But I think your next reaction for them should be What Would You Say.
Lots of great Dave Matthews to check out, especially live. They tour every summer. Their drummer is consistently named a top drummer. Crash is another song that was hugely popular for them. Dave Matthews (vocal, acoustic guitar) Carter Beauford (drums, percussion) Boyd Tinsley (violin) Stefan Lessard (bass) LeRoi Moore (saxophone)
Imagine the first time ever hearing this is live, outside at a big venue through a 50,000 watt sound system, lol. These guys BROUGHT it, that day. Never heard anything like it- this was 3-4 months before they took the radio by storm, so they were new to most of the crowd. ALSO getting to see Little Sister, G Love and Special Sauce, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Blues Traveller, and the Allman Brother's Band the same afternoon just made it so much better. As did the coolest, friendliest, happiest crowd I've ever been a part of.
They have a ton of bangers!! The lead singer also is an actor!!✌️😊🧿💙 btw they still tour!! See when they are coming close to you!! Time to start going to concerts guys!!
"Warehouse" is another awesome song, and react to a live version. "Bartender" another one. also, "Gravedigger". Dave, the lead singer and who the band is named after, is from South Africa. its a soprano saxophone, RIP Leroi Moore
I have been asking them to review Bartender- live at RCMH w/ Tim Reynolds for months… lol Best performance I have seen by them and I have seen them Live a bunch…
About time! Yes, the lead singer is Dave Matthews. He originally hailed from South Africa before making America his home and started the band. The group is an essential part of the 90’s music. Love this group and they had a number of hits. Please do either their first hit “What Would You Say” or “Satellites” next. This band deserves your attention.
Dave Matthews Band is a deep deep rabbit hole - may favorite is "Crash Into Me". BTW, your foray into the 90's won't be complete until you check out one of the 90's most loved bands: Everclear. Their biggest hits: "I Will Buy You A New Life" - "Santa Monica" - "Father Of Mine" - "Wonderful" - "Everything To Everyone"
Hey guys, The Dave Matthews Band still sells out shows. We saw them at Riverbend in Cincinnati just last night. Their live music is said to be epically better then the studio version. Worth going down the rabbit hole with this amazing band. Still going strong.
I have been waiting for this for so long. One of my favorite bands of all time. This is one band worthy of seeing in concert. But you need to look up the original band and the current band to understand their sounds.
If you decide to go down this rabbit hole, you won't be disappointed. The vocals, lyrics, instrumentals are all incredible. Check out the live performance of 'Bartender'. Just an amazingly spiritual song.
Dave Matthews is awesome. So glad you've found him. My personal favorite is the beautiful You & Me. Makes me weepy every time I listen to it. Romantic and magical.
If y’all ever get the chance to see DMB live in concert, GOOOOOO! You will not be disappointed!! Their musicianship is up there with Chicago, Toto, Journey…. The DMB concert atmosphere is indescribable!
DMB is a true jam band. For as good as they seem in videos, they are even better live and always mix it up. It's a very communal experience seeing them in person; full of good vibes!
Dancing Nancies is my favorite Dave Matthews Band song followed by Jimi Thing, followed by What Would You Say, followed by this one, followed by Crash Into Me, followed by The Space Between. These guys are awesome... RIP to the horn/woodwind player.
Dave Matthews Band: Dave Matthews: acoustic guitar, lead vocals Stefan Lessard: bass guitar LeRoi Moore: soprano and alto saxophone Boyd Tinsley: violin Carter Beaufort: drums And later they added Tim Reynolds on electric guitar.
Fantastic band love Dave Matthews.A great group formed in 91 still performing incredible music. Try Crush,Crash into Me,What Would You Say,Grey Street,Don’t Drink the Water,The Space Between,Stay,When the World Ends,Big Eyed Fish,Tripping Billies,Where are You Going,Satalite,Bartender, The Best of What’s Around,Everyday,Grace is Gone,You and Me,Madman’s Eyes,Mercy, I Did It,just a few to get you started.
I was lucky to see them live in Charlottesville, VA in the early 2000's. It is a treasured memory for me. The band got their big start playing in this college town so they always play there with a homecoming vibe. Neil Young opened and it was an epic evening already, then he joined DMB onstage to do All Along the Watchtower (Hendrix.)
Ah the soundtrack of my early 20’s. DMB is such a beautiful band. The vocals, the lyrics, the instrumental backing blends perfectly together. You don’t just hear a DMB song…you experience it. Please give them more of a listen on your channel. I promise you’ll end up fans. ❤
These guys had a HUGE fan base. I checked in to a hotel once at 1am and there were people walking around everywhere, partying all over the grass and roadway leading to the hotel...hundreds and hundreds of people. The hotel parking lot was full, as well as many businesses nearby. I had to park down the street. When I checked in for my reservation, I asked what was going on and hotel staff informed me that Dave Mathews just got done playing a concert and was staying at that hotel. Fans were everywhere, still partying and hoping to see him.
I came back to watch your reaction a second time. DMB is a super important band to me. They were literally part of the soundtrack of my life. As a college student in the mid to late 90s, you couldn't escape DMB if you wanted to. Every house party, every dorm room, every guy who hung out on the quad with an acoustic guitar was playing Dave songs. His album Live at Luther College is still playing in my car to this day. So many great songs to check out by them. Tripping Billies, #41, Everyday, Crush, Granny, Two Step, Lie in our Graves, Grey Street... I could go on. Please fall into the DMB rabbit hole... you won't be disappointed
I too have the double CD Live at Luther College. It is amazing. It’s cool that Dave and Tim played songs from Crash before Crash was even released. Say Goodbye I think is my fav song.
I was JUST listening to this album yesterday LOLOLOL How funny. It's always a classic for me. I have loved DM Band since they first came out. Yes, I am one of those fans that followed them to different cities on tour LOL. The good ole days I tell ya!
This just made my day!! It’s not an exaggeration to say I’ve been requesting DMB for two years now! If you want some vibes listen to the song Crush, you want another jam listen to Stay (Wasting Time)
Yes! This band is one of the greats. They're very eclectic, some people can't wrap their brains around it. But they are all top-notch musicians. Listening to them just takes me to a higher place, and I know by the end of the song I'll be filled with joy. Especially if you watch Carter the drummer, I've hardly ever seen that man NOT smiling. They have a deep love for their music, and love for each other as musicians and it shows in every song. Watching them live is MAGIC. This is a hole you want to go down, I'm here for the ride!
No way is my fave channel doing one of my favorite bands!! DMB is soooo versatile. Dave is South African, lived in England and the US. He literally has universal influence and it shows. ❤❤ Love you guys, love the channel. 💛💛
This is the track that introduced most of us to the band and to Dave. Late 1990s for me. I saw them live around 1998 at Shoreline Amphitheater near San Francisco.
I have been waiting for you to get to DMB! My favourite. Great musicians, great vocals and a vast variety of sounds to choose from. As mentioned before the drummer is one of the all time best.
and like that, ....2 DMB fans were born.. Happy rebirthday.. lol .. He has like 13 albums and countless live performances available.. You're gonna love it!! I just saw him in Houston on 5/19 for the tour opener.. was a great time.. yall should get tickets, you wont regret or forget it.. He has the chillest crowds..
Great Reaction guys! They are one of my favorite bands and have a ton of amazing songs. A couple of suggestions would be the song " Stay" and "So much to Say"
I think you two will really enjoy "What Would You Say", that should be the next one you two listen to by DMB. Although, "Crash into Me" has a really special place in my heart and I have very clear, distinct memories of that song. But I feel like I tell way too many stories in my usual comments on your channel, so I'll save this one for when you two actually react to that song 😉
OMG, finally! I've been waiting for you guys to stumble onto Dave! I'm 62 years old and thank God for my baby brother who's 10 years younger than I am. He introduced me to Dave and I was sold! The band is happy, angry, sensual, I could go on and on. Watching the two of you and listening about your babies, you need to do You and Me~ it's written just for you! BTW, I LOVE watching the 2 of you. I get lost in your videos!
So glad to see ya’ll FINALLY doing some Dave Mathews… I have worked over 100 live shows and about 10 Dave Mathews Band and they fill up all the air space and have such a celebratory vibe…. Now: Bartender - live Radio city music hall w/ Tim Reynolds…. Well done U2
DMB was the soundtrack of the mid-late 90's (along with Hootie & the Blowfish - both had that fun, laid-back sound). Some more of their songs I suggest are "Halloween", "Big Eyed Fish", "Crush", "Best of What's Around", "Stay (Wasting Time)", "#41",, "Spoon" (with Alannis Morrisette), "Out of My Hands" - it's hard to find a bad DMB song. Dave Matthews is an actor too.
Nothing average about DMB, for sure. They are all such accomplished musicians. And yes, very eclectic. As a child of Africa I can definitely hear the African influences also. I have deep love and respect for them. ❤ I remember you saying you want to still go to a live performance -- this would be a great one to go to and experience and I canmlive vicariously through you.
Reminds me of Sting’s band back in 1985 called: Dream of the Blue Turtles. Great Great Great musicians surrounding great vocals via Sting or in this case Dave Matthews on this song! Ps. The guy in the video through out is actor Justin Chambers who played Alex Karev on Grey’s Anatomy!
Love DMB. They were the first band I ever saw in person. I was in high school and my friends and I would drive 2+ hours to a nightclub in Charlottesville called Trax just to see them. They would sell tapes at the club and I used to have one of them for years until the magnetic tape broke. 😞 I can remember when their first radio hit, What Would You Say, ht the airway. It was like I knew them personally (which I didn’t) and I felt so proud. 😂
An amazing band. Quite a playlist to go through. "What would you say" is probably the song that first made people take notice. If I could suggest one more, based on what you guys like it would be "Crush".
It's a soprano saxophone that the late, great LeRoi Moore is playing on this one. Definitely the thing that caught me into these guys, but them playing live is where you need to go. I'm seeing them this summer for my 35th and 36th shows.
Saying this was a great 90's band is an understatement. It doesn't get much bigger than these guys and they're still around today. They have a ton of great hits that you guys will enjoy!

Yes!!!!!! I am soooo happy you are reacting to Ants marching! Sooo many other DMB songs for ya'll to pick from!!
Absolutely agree! A MUST for a well rounded view of Mr Matthews.

That whole album is incredible
This!!!
One of the most amazing, heartfelt songs, completely phone, chilling performance
Satellite and Crush are my fave songs. Where are you going and Crash Into Me, Trippin'Billies all great songs. Ya really can't go wrong with DMB.
ive seen this band more than any other. i've seen them 8 times, chicago, indianaoplis, st louis, champiagn IL at the state farm center, formerly the Assembly Hall at the U of I. Always an amazing show
Stopped what I was doing and had to watch this. DMB, everyone is so massively talented. My favorite DMB? Dancing Nancies❣ But I think your next reaction for them should be What Would You Say.
damn... DMB opened a whole new world to me. I was a metal head then I became one with the universe. IM SO HAPPY TO SEE THEM MAKE THIS CHANNEL!!!!
Their concerts are amazing. Crash into me, satellite and many, many more great songs ❤️
I've watched them twice. It's the the most amazing thing I've ever heard. Need one more.
Lots of great Dave Matthews to check out, especially live. They tour every summer. Their drummer is consistently named a top drummer. Crash is another song that was hugely popular for them.
Dave Matthews (vocal, acoustic guitar)
Carter Beauford (drums, percussion)
Boyd Tinsley (violin)
Stefan Lessard (bass)
LeRoi Moore (saxophone)
I have been asking them to review Bartender- live at RCMH w/ Tim Reynolds for months… lol
Best performance I have seen by them and I have seen them Live a bunch…
@@darinswift490 1000000000% agree
The Warehouse sessions with just Dave and Carter is amazing too... ua-cam.com/video/1Ol3DexHogA/v-deo.html
Yes, soooo many great songs!!!
Omg YESSSSS Finallyyyyyy🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 you don’t even realizeeeee 😂❤ so glad y’all loved it. Knew you would 😉 “Satellite” next?! 🙏🏼❤️
One of my all time favorite bands! Saw them last year in Raleigh, NC and many other times. Their live shows are where they shine the brightest.
From vocals to arrangement, Dave Matthews Band is stellar!
Amber you are so smart!!.. You picked up so much more from these lyrics for a first listen than almost anyone. You got it entirely.
Love love love # 41 great sax solo and great to dance to!!❤️
Dave Matthews is awesome.
Dave Matthews Band:
Dave Matthews: acoustic guitar, lead vocals
Stefan Lessard: bass guitar
LeRoi Moore: soprano and alto saxophone
Boyd Tinsley: violin
Carter Beaufort: drums
And later they added Tim Reynolds on electric guitar.
RIP LeRoi Moore
Love Dave Matthews band .!! Thank you

Anything from “Live at Red Rocks” will blow you away. Group of phenomenal musicians.
"Crash Into Me" was another hit of theirs. Great live band!
That's baby Dave!!! ❤❤❤
I love love love Dave matthews band!!! I truly hope you explore them even more because his voice and songwriting is absolutely incredible!!❤❤❤
"Before these crowded streets " amazing, amazing album!
Eclectic is the exact word that describes this band. And so many good songs. A treat of a rabbit hole if your inclined to go down.
I was JUST listening to this album yesterday LOLOLOL How funny. It's always a classic for me.
I have loved DM Band since they first came out. Yes, I am one of those fans that followed them to different cities on tour LOL. The good ole days I tell ya!
This album was huge when it came out. Love this song and you should also try "What Would You Say," among others.
I would challenge anyone to stay in their seat at a Dave Matthews Band live show!!!! It is virtually impossible!!!!
FINALLY… DMB !
One of my favorite bands!! Listened to them a ton in college in the 90’s. They are all so talented!
Y'all should check out Bartender (Live at Radio City Music Hall). His vocals are amazing!
Word!
Definitely, Dave and Tim version! But hope they enjoy This great band!
I am from Argentina and this was THE band of my youth. Amazing musicians. Dave is an incredible guitarrist also very funny guy.
Thank you! Almost nobody else seems to be recommending those and they are clearly the songs Jay and Amber would like most.
Dave Matthews band was one of the greatest introductions to that decade; they’re wonderful.
It's about freaking time somebody reviewed the DMB! Mad props to you... Rob Squad!
Yay! So excited! DMB is my favorite band and I know you’re going to love them the more you dive into their rich catalog of music. Can’t wait for more!
Nothing average about DMB, for sure. They are all such accomplished musicians. And yes, very eclectic. As a child of Africa I can definitely hear the African influences also. I have deep love and respect for them. ❤
I remember you saying you want to still go to a live performance -- this would be a great one to go to and experience and I canmlive vicariously through you.
Besides his own music, he does some truly astounding covers tho they can be a challenge to find! Try anyway!! 😂😂😊
When this popped up, I so hoped that you played the studio version for your first exposure to this band... was happy to see that you did.
From this album, check out: "Jimi Thing"
This is one of my faves of theirs!! And you've nailed it all!! The music, the voice...all!!! ❤❤❤
