Take it from someone who has seen them live 50+ times over the last 25 years... It's a spiritual experience. You sing, dance, and smile for 3 hours straight. It's simply the best therapy.
Hey guys. I'm so happy you've found the Dave Matthews band. I'm from Stuarts draft va, 30 min outside Charlottesville, VA. (Dmbs hometown) Have known them from the very beginning, even opening for them in a bar called TRAX.. I'd advise , if you want what they are raw, their core to listening to 1994s "Halloween" live @ Trax, Charlottesville VA found here on UA-cam... Would love to hear your reaction.
My band back in the '90s did a lot of gigs with these guys and even filled in for them at one gig. They are from Charlottesville, VA where we were based.
Their live shows are just a joy to listen to. It is always an audio experience that penetrates to your core. And everyone brought together with this band is so talented. Everyone in the band is also really charitable in their home town of Charlotte North Caroline. Carter Beauford is the Drummer, there are some great videos on his technique. He's considered one of the best drummers around. Oh one more thing. Their live versions of songs are usually a lot longer because of all the freestyle. There is a performance of the doing their song "42" with another band on stage so like 13 of them up there and pretty much everyone got a chance to take a solo lead and that one song when 30 minutes. The deeper meaning is live, don't just be a ant drone because end then end, just like a concert, the light go up, and its over.
Imagine if you will an outdoor natural amphitheater perched on a 400 foot drop cliff overlooking the Columbia River Gorge facing west like a version of the Grand Canyon, the river winding between the cliffs with an orange/red sunset, the minute the band starts up clouds of grayish blue pungent smoke wafts to the heavens kicking off a 2 1/2 hour jam of the best of DMB! effin awesome! Thanks for your reaction and sparking fond memories.
My favorite reaction videos from you guys so far have been the Dave Matthews Band ones. I love watching you both feel the music. One of my favorite bands for 30 years! Would love to see you react to his All Along the Watchtower cover from the Central Park show. Thanks for your videos! Love from NY ❤
Reminds me of Sting’s band back in 1985 called: Dream of the Blue Turtles. Great Great Great musicians surrounding great vocals via Sting or in this case Dave Matthews on this song! Ps. The guy in the video through out is actor Justin Chambers who played Alex Karev on Grey’s Anatomy!
My wife and I seen Dave Mathew’s band in Tampa outdoor about 10 years ago We had standing only tickets next to the stage. Such an incredible concert! So talented they were amazing 😊
Another winner, huh? LOVE your reactions. Pure. Raw. I was lucky enough to see Dave and the gang a couple of summers ago in Toronto. A once-in-a-lifetime experience. You reacted to 'Bartender' already. Many more to discover. You and Me. Grey Street. Some Devil. And on and on ... !
I agree that jimi thing at central park will blow your minds more than anything. Granny, watchtower, and Cortez the killer are all insane from that show as well.
I used to work at a major concert venue and have seen over a thousand shows. Of those, any Dave concert ranks in the Top 10. The atmosphere is always amazing and the band always brings the heat each time. One concert the song might be a short version and the next concert they might "feel" the song and jam on it for 15 minutes. The "concert" is more like an "experience." If you ever get the chance to see them live, please do it! I'd also highly encourage you to check out the official music video for Ants Marching with the studio soundtrack. Totally different experience... not better or worse, just different. Other songs you might enjoy if you're interested: Dave doing "Long Black Veil" is underrated. The song showcases the tone of his voice: ua-cam.com/video/2jgqEvfn7EE/v-deo.html The Warehouse Sessions have just Dave and drummer Carter together. The first song "Out of My Hands" features Dave on piano: ua-cam.com/video/1Ol3DexHogA/v-deo.html And "The Last Stop" is Dave's version quasi-version of Led Zep Kasmir sounding song (cued up below): ua-cam.com/video/wY3hwEVCong/v-deo.html Love the channel!
@@MerchantOfAlba - Thank you! The love you two share is amazing... something everyone in life strives for, but rarely finds. Thanks for sharing yourselves with the world. Love from Silicon Valley. 💙
I just went to their concert in Camden, NJ last night. 23rd concert since 2001. Dave fans laugh at me 😂. What a great show as always. Please react to Jimi Think Live in Central Park. So many people in the park in NYC. The biggest regret of my life was missing it. Love your reactions!
It's such a joyous performance and so much fun watching you guys absorb it. DMB has so much musical talent. I saw them in the late 90s at an outdoor venue in the Utah mountains and it was just incredible 😊
Love DMB and try to see them live each time they come to Italy. Any song is just great. Two of the must-check are definitely - #41 (check the 2009 live in Lucca) - don't drink the water (about conquistadores and native americans) (the Centrale Park concert recording is very nice)
I was at a show last week! PLEASE check out All Along The Watchtower from Central Park.. 120k people in the middle of manhattan on a perfect September evening almost exactly 2 years after the 9/11 attacks.. it IS a bit long but I promise it’s worth it..
They are indeed just all incredible musicians. You picked out the drummer, Carter Beauford, and I do think you would have a difficult time finding a professional drummer that would disagree with saying he is among the best in the world.
They are still amaszing live, too bad they had to part ways with Boyd (violin player), they have since made Tim Reynolds a permanent band member and that has changed their sound a bit to more rock and less folk but they have done some really good stuff in the last few years.
How many annoying fiddly fiddly fiddle fiddly fiddles do you want in your song? ...Dave Matthews: Yes! The song is amazing. To me personally, its just too busy! So busy!!! God damn busy version :-)
One of the greatest pleasures in life is watching talented people give their hearts away to the thing they love to do that they do so well. 😅
Talented and unafraid of playing with their music.
Take it from someone who has seen them live 50+ times over the last 25 years... It's a spiritual experience. You sing, dance, and smile for 3 hours straight. It's simply the best therapy.
I was in the crowd at this concert. If you like them, you must go to one of their concerts before it's too late. It will change your life.
Saw them in Nashville. Iconic performance. As they all are.
In your life, going to see a Dave Mathews concert is a absolute must.

There is nothing quite like seeing DMB live… It’s my happy place..
Everyone reacts to this version where his voice is completely shot 😂
Great live band. Carter Beauford is one of the best drummers anywhere.

I love this band. It brightened my day watching your reaction to this. Thank you 🌞
Glad you enjoyed it ☺️

So amazing to see your reaction to this band we all love so much! Please do more
Dave and his band are as infectious as the movement that follows them. Pure talent. Pure genius. Pure Dave.
Nice to see people discovering this band.

Jazz , Blues, Cajun infused Rock. Nothing like it anywhere!
Best live band I’ve ever seen. If they ever come close to where you live, definitely go see them!
I agree that jimi thing at central park will blow your minds more than anything. Granny, watchtower, and Cortez the killer are all insane from that show as well.
Just watched a whole bunch of your Dave Matthews Band reactions, so great to see you fall in love with this incredible band 😃

The Warehouse Sessions is so good! Love hearing just Dave and Carter together ❤
@@TacomaGirl - Way underrated... I wish they'd do another one. :)
Jealous 🎉

Please react to Jimi Think Live in Central Park. So many people in the park in NYC. The biggest regret of my life was missing it. Love your reactions!
Thanks for introducing me to this great piece!
Our pleasure! 😀
Went to my 85th show last month.
You have to hear "Too Much" and "So Much to Say"
OH, MAN!!! This band is like a MUSICAL SMORGASBOARD!! SO, SO GOOD!! ENJOY!!!
Y'all are so cool 😊 Thank you for sharing great music with us! 😊 ❤ from Texas!
DMB show is like a EXPERIENCE not just music show
Love DMB! Thx for a great reaction. You guys are the best.
Puts a smile on my face watching you both enjoying DMB so much! My all time favorite band
Love Dave Mathews and the band! Nice choice. Try his tune, “Crash Into Me”. 😉👍
One of my FAVS!!! FIRE!!!
It's such a joyous performance and so much fun watching you guys absorb it. DMB has so much musical talent. I saw them in the late 90s at an outdoor venue in the Utah mountains and it was just incredible 😊
Very talented band. DM's yodeling is something that turns people off but the musicianship is quite interesting and unique
🤔💭Have you done any Bruce Hornsby songs? "Prarie Dog Town", "That's just the way it is", "Mandolin Rain" 👍
Great song!!!
You have to hear So much to say and Crash into me and Too much. D MB is Awesome ❤❤
Do more of Dave Matthews Band (The live concert from Central Park N.Y.) you will not be disappointed
You two are awesome. I'd ask you to adopt me, but I'm 40...
Stay with live versions!
Love DMB and try to see them live each time they come to Italy.
Any song is just great.
Two of the must-check are definitely
- #41 (check the 2009 live in Lucca)
- don't drink the water (about conquistadores and native americans) (the Centrale Park concert recording is very nice)
Pure creativity!
DMB is so talented!
I have this CD. It's excellent!❤❤
Hee Hee 😂
May I suggest "Warehouse" live from Central Park and #41 (yes, thats the song title) Europe 2009
Oh my goodness yes!! Warehouse is one of my favorites live
I was at a show last week! PLEASE check out All Along The Watchtower from Central Park.. 120k people in the middle of manhattan on a perfect September evening almost exactly 2 years after the 9/11 attacks.. it IS a bit long but I promise it’s worth it..
Please listen to The Dreaming Tree. Studio version is just fine.
Upbeat song, but a melancholy message. Love the music, but the song always makes me feel sad afterward.
You have to react to Jimi Thing live from central park

Hey Bartender is a great live DM song
That was their introduction to Dave
I'm sure somebody will correct me but for me a lot of the time their songs are not really about lyrics; more about vibe. And it's such a great vibe!
That was such a great vibe 🙂
Carter Beauford for President 2024
They are still amaszing live, too bad they had to part ways with Boyd (violin player), they have since made Tim Reynolds a permanent band member and that has changed their sound a bit to more rock and less folk but they have done some really good stuff in the last few years.
You can tell his voice is struggling a bit at this show. Must of been a long run of shows.
How many annoying fiddly fiddly fiddle fiddly fiddles do you want in your song? ...Dave Matthews: Yes! The song is amazing. To me personally, its just too busy! So busy!!! God damn busy version :-)
