The perfect tutorial. I found my pin in the exact same location as yours. One thing you didn't mention, but I see that you did, was to open the lower glove box when re-installing the upper box. Without the lower open, the alignment isn't possible. I DID snap off the alignment / locking tab on the left-hand side, but this shouldn't be an issue.
A comment below remarks that flaring out the hinge pins might cause an operational issue. I don't think it will. In fact, I took a #1 phillips screwdriver (the smallest one in a toolkit that isn't for jewelry) and lightly tapped both sides of both hinge pins with a hammer. This will definitely ensure that they won't slip out again. The hinge pins are slightly larger than the holes in which they sit, so flaring them in this way will not impede the operation of the hinge.

Excellent video. I used a putty knife to ease open the snap-in console parts. Otherwise, the repair was exactly has shown. I think it saved me a $200 service charge at the dealer. Thank you!

Thanks!!! I have lost the small metal stick though so I fixed it with a piece of a thin plastic tube of an empty shower cabin cleaner spray. Diameter was almost the same and seems hard enough. I melted both ends ( warmed up a philips screwdriver) to prevent it from slipping out.

I finally did this after years of putting it off. Thanks for this video. I used plastic bicycle tire levers instead of my fingers.
The gear and the pin were right there when I popped it open and very easy to assemble back together.
I managed to break one of the clips on the top glove box when putting it back together, so take it slow like you said.
This took me maybe 20 minutes total!

Great video! I was able to fix mine myself and save a lot of money. It took a little work to remove the small vent to the right of the glove box but I stuck with it and eventually worked it off. Your detailed instructions were just what I needed.

Thank you for the great tutorial! You even made the hinge better than the original. Do you need to flare out both ends of the pin to make it stay? [EDIT: I think you mean that you only flare the end or ends out enough so they fit tightly in the hole, not wider than the hole to hold them in place, since the pin appears to sit flush to the hole at both ends. I wonder if it might be safer to apply a sticky/waxy substance to the ends of the pin instead, or even glue it in; it doesn’t look like the pin itself needs to be able to spin freely, relative to the outer holes, does it?]
Also, do you recommend punching out the hinge pin on the other side while you have the assembly out, so you don’t have to do this again?

✌🏽such a great video! I not sure I am confident enough to do this on my own?
