Not sure about one of the best. Don't forget, songs from The Supremes, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Buffalo Springfield, The Temptations, The Animals, The Turtles, Procol Harum, Jimmy Ruffin, Ben E. King, The Doors, The Mamas and The Papas, The Zombies, The Byrds, Ottis Redding, Chuck Berry, The Moody Blues, The Association...etc were way better than the Ronettes in my opinion. I like the Ronettes songs, but so many more awesome bands that sang better songs. Of course, take what I say with a grain of salt, I am a late 70's baby who grew up in the 80's, and I think that the 60's music and those bands that I mentioned had the best music ever!

@@gingerp6631Phil Spector's production of this song was the reason why Brian Wilson regarded it as the best. According to Brian Wilson, it was a revolutionary song in pop music - specifically the transition in the song the first time the Ronettes (Veronica Bennett) sings "won't you please" (transition) "be my, be my baby". Brian Wilson obsessed over the entire song - and that part in particular - for decades.

Many people think Ronnie's voice is 'thin and high' because they've only ever heard her from the 'old days' of 'tinny' radio speakers and record-players that had no treble or 'high' capabilities, usually a 'fader' was the best you could hope for!
I assure all of you that Ronnie had spectacular vocal projection then...you could hear her thru a concrete wall, and I ain't kiddin'!
