Imagine being a regular German citizen enjoying a nice morning in your small town and seeing a man with a sundress and backpack sprinting away from someone
Especialy sinc what you have to realize is: Emden is one of those tiny country cities (no offense to all emden watchers but it's true 😉) where on a Sunday generally 'jack sh****' happens in public life. Unless there's a town festival or smth you can mostly fold up the sidewalks on Saturday and unpack em on Monday and not inconvenience anyone. So having 3 American guys (one of which is wearing a dress) chase each other across town is indeed a sight to behold 😅
Once the chase was on, and Ben called out "come here Adam!", I was thinking that that does serve to minimize the small risk that someone mistakes the chase for some weird serious sitution, and makes clear they're being friendly/playing, and he isn't chasing some random person. Whether or not *Ben* was thinking that, idk; probably not, because such a risk is too small to bother considering. But, yeah.
@@johnscherer5945 Its been shown in past seasons that the trackers can be extremely unreliable (ie one of the last episdoes from last season, where according to the trackers Adam was still standing at the Vending Machine, while in truth he was a block away from it) Disguises dont work when you know that you are looking for someone who has a tendency to disguise, know roughly where he is headed, and then finally is out in the open. Had there been a crowd, the disguise wouldve worked easily
The unreliability of Deutsche Bahn brings another whole dynamic into this game, it's almost like a high risk high reward play to travel any long distances in Germany.
It feels like each of the boys has their own challenge. Ben has to climb a mountain, Sam has to deal with short travel times for the chasers, and Adam has Germany.
I imagine that, when developing this game, they probably considered having season 2 go across Germany rather than France... but they would've realized quite quickly that it would've rendered the game impossible.
So often, we here in the cozy cheap seats can collectively shout "Don't X" or "Do Y." And yeah, every once in a while the pros just pull out a perfect idea, perfectly executed. Takes great advantage of the fact that they are traveling super light for the few days of the game, so he doesn't need a "better" piece of luggage. Sunhat and breezy skirt are way easier to wear in the hot sun than past disguise attempts. Just the kind of move you love to see. I guess the only thing I'd say is Adam could have used his extra time to crank through more coin tasks to get something like seeing the chasers location. He absolutely didn't need it. But the extra coins could have given him some extra confidence from a Powerup.

That made me laugh. I remember laughing when the card came up last season that they could only take a train if it was at least a minute late and thinking "if they were in Germany, this would be a freebie." 😂
First thought when Adam got caught: Damn he was so close, I was rooting for him! Second thought when Adam got caught: Yess babyy, Ben and Adam back together again!
Honestly, I think what Adam should've done, realizing he would have to wait 3 hours for the ferry is attempt to rent a bicycle for the day and bike 1.5 hours away to the middle of nowhere. With the return trip it would only cost him 180? coins and worst case scenario he either gets tagged during his trip making it extremely hard for the runner to leave in the middle of nowhere or on the way back, leaving the next runners with less time overall
That's true, they can rent a car. But it would be a horrible move for Sam as on catch he wouldn't have any options apart from walking back to Emden. I don't know how the chaser dynamics work when doing X seriously benefits one chaser and seriously hinders the other, but assuming I was Sam in my scenario a bike chase or camping the ferry would be the only two reasonable options for me.
@@Framlii So you have to get tagged out of the window of a moving car? The bike can easily evade a car. It's not a police chase, they can't ram the cyclist. The bike can turn and go to places a car can't.
@@werigubskdjgbI think the real advantage of biking is not that it can escape the chasers, but that it puts the runner in an annoying location be caught. With trackers it isn't that hard to figure out which way a cyclist is going and then hide and intercept them. The benefit is not that it's hard to tag, it's that it's hard to do anything after the tag.
As I am watching this in a delayed DB train which is going to cost me an unplanned hotel night, I am naturally empathetic to the casual delays you went through with DB. Cheers! And btw, thank you for bringing back this excellent format.
He didn’t know he was going to get caught. Additionally, all Borkum-bound ferries are at even-numbered times, so if he wanted to go to Borkum at all, he HAD TO veto the odd curse.
Germany is high risk high reward. German train routes generally offer the most flexibility in terms of number of possible directions (which generally favours the runner) but it's als DB 😅
@@mrsarkeybusy and also its best to be underground or at least coveted by a big building, like in a subway station or mall, since the tracker is more accurate under an open sky
If Sam manages to take the Netherlands route next episode there is a decent likelyhood that he's gonna sit in the train I commute with everyday and even visit some town I'v regularly visited. Thats really cool.
I think Adam would have had a decent chance by staying on the move. From Emden you can take local busses to Eemshaven, which takes a while. But once he gets there he could take the fairy from there to Borkum before having the chasers catch up. Instead by staying on foot somewhere for so long, it's too unrealistic not to get caught for so long!!
Adam could’ve tried going to Eemshaven they also do ferries to Borkem. It is 1 hour away from Emden by car and 2-3 hours by train with it being regional trains with lots of different connections Emden to Leer, Leer to Groningen, Groningen to Eemshaven so there would have been no other choice but to follow Adam. Its ferry is shorter to Borkem. It probably has a different ferry time table to Emden. It could have thrown a screw in the works and lead Adam to win there and then.
Adam hiking his skirt up to get or put away his phone is so funny, i always feel like he's doing like. A femme fatale showing off her leg to get a gun or a dagger or something
all the time sam is so composed and calm and focused on strategies and then he does something like CARDS CARDS CARDS and i remember he is actually younger than adam
So being a German train nerd, I obviously had to look up the itineraries that the boys took (including the exact date) and while I really appreciate you guys making the series more interesting (and extended) for us all, the more accurate and smart thing for Adam to do would have been to get on the 6:02 train from Münster to Emden and then get on the 9 am ferry ;) He would have had to risk getting caught at the train station before the rest period, but I think it would have been worth it.
I always forget that it comes out but whenever it does its such a great surprise... Also the pronounciation of german places makes my day (Im german and its so bad I love it) And of course the Deutsche Bahn is always late. Like I've never planned with the scheduled time in mind.
It's much worse now though! Most delay-causing problems are currently being fixed and DB says they will have finished upgrading the infrastructure until 2026, which means there will be a lot of delays because of so much work happening at the same time, on the most important lines all over Germany. But it's better than having to wait until like 2040 for trains to finally be more on time.
@@mstrmrenas far as I know, (as someone who commutes 5h (on good days) biweekly) to cut cost they disabled most alternate rails, so once one train is late the whole system is crumbling. They prefer to build new instead of upkeep and their plan to overhaul germany is until 2070
@@idk49779AFAIK they prefer to build new railroad tracks instead of doing upkeep because when the Deutsche Bahn got privatized in 1994, they made the deal that the state has to pay for new railroad tracks and the Deutsche Bahn has to pay for repairs... so they let railroad tracks rot away until they can't be repaired so they don't have to pay for repairs which would decrease revenue... 🙄
The cut at 6:45 from “I would at least be paranoid” while eating McDonalds to weird canted angle of Adam in disguise with a McDonalds in frame is soooo funny. Thank you. 😂🤣😂🤣
Interesting idea for the next season of Tag, either have the runners tracker turned off if the chasers get within a certain distance (ie. 1-2km) or have all trackers visible if the chasers get within a certain distance. Just seems like the chasers have an unfair advantage when it gets close.
I was thinking this too or like you can only look at it every ten minutes or something. It does seem like an unfair advantage since they basically don’t have to do anything but look at their phone to see where the runner is.
On behalf of all of my colleagues at Deutsche Bahn, I would like to apologise for our delays and cancelled trains. However, this is what makes Tag across Europe so funny, as everybody knows how unreliable DB really is😅. Btw, not every train in Germany is run by DB, in fact there are many many private train companies like the "Westphalenbahn", the blue/green train to Emden, or the double decker train to Dortmund Sam and Ben took, the RRX,, is run by British company National Express. Or Adams train to Münster, which belongs to Swiss national railway company SBB (and technically is a high speed train but stops a lot). Thank you very much for all your videos, I enjoy every one of them. In Germany we say: Sänk ju for träwäling wis Deutsche Bahn!
Can’t wait to have Sam find out the train from Salzbergen to Hengelo never actually rides. But I’d love to see it if it did ride this one time, because I thought Münster was already close to where I grew up, but Hengelo is literally the village next to my birth city. And also the trains just through the Netherlands will be very recognizable for me
you went through Zutphen? my god I wish I knew. That inspires me for a NEW GAME : you guys are the runners and all of your fans are the chasers, but you post your location every 5 or 10 minutes, and we get some merch if we catch you or something.
Fun fact: If DB cancels a train (or only one stop for one train), the train at this stop is not considered "delayed" for the statistics of delayed trains. A train is also not "late" if it is just under 6 minutes late. This means that neither a canceled train nor a train that is 5 minutes late is shown as "late" in the statistics. That's how the DB gets that 90% of trains is on time.
The thing about Deutsche Bahn and their unruly trains is, yes they are often late and yes they leave you stuck like you wouldn't believe sometimes, but they offer an incredible network with the tiniest of places connected to it (not all, rural transit connections are still lacking, I know). Considering Germany's size you can pretty comfortably travel from one small town to another at the other side of the country and don't have to take detours like in a centralized system (e.g. the TGV). Coordinating a network of that size and with so many different connections operating on limited rail infrastructure, including freight trains, it's a small wonder it works as well as it does for offering such a broad collection of connections.
RRX isnt even DB, its a private british company which operates a railway franchise in germany because capitalists thought it was a good idea to privatize part of our constitutional rights
Well, there are ferries from eemshaven in the netherlands that goes to Borkum. This connection is more often than the one from Emden ;) i really like this series! Well done boys!
I like how the game dev balanced this patch so that the random event, the delay of Deutsche Bahn, is a nerf for both team while adding whole lot of tension for both the players and spectators.
8:34 What an iconic place to have breakfast, just a mile away of the former transrapid testtrack. Hope you guys are not too messed up by the delays of the trains here in germany.
The disguise is only going to work in a crowded area. If they have a tracker telling them roughly where you are, they go there and see 1 person, that's clearly going to be you!
Adam's disguise in this season is the best one so far 🤣i nearly forgot the fact when Sam and Ben would keep checking on the GPS making his disguise would fail miserably
That would be cool if they have the don’t track shop. That you can buy to make your tracker disappear for certain time. It will be depending on length (10 min-1500 or 30 min for 3500)
Just for the future….there is actually a plane service between Emden and Borkum by a small airline named OFD. Would have been so cool if Adam tried that

Actually, it would end if it got in 15-20 minutes earlier because he would still need to get to they ferry to Borkum.
I can't express how hysterical I was about Ben finally getting to taste glowworms. I just love that sort of callback, especially when it means we're back in the Snack Zone.
Going from Japan with all the trains being on time to now almost each train having some sort of delay is so freaking crazy XD
The disguise is a great idea, but it really only works in places like the train station where the tracker isn't that reliable.
And more people. Of course they will recognize him in an almost empty street if they know he's going to be there
Another problem is that there were barely any people around, so Adam could not blend in a crowd.
Yeah the bike seems underrated. How are you gonna catch someone on a bike? Only with a faster bike.
@@werigubskdjgb the chasers can rent a car so that would be faster than bicycle.
Remember to file compensation, if their delays leave you stranded, they have to pay for the room
Bei DB anrufen, dann geben die einem ein Hotelzimmer gratis
It hurt watching Adam veto the odd departure time curse while not knowing he was totally about to get caught anyway
He really should have taken it; he was in dire straits waiting for 3 hours.
He didn’t know he was going to get caught. Additionally, all Borkum-bound ferries are at even-numbered times, so if he wanted to go to Borkum at all, he HAD TO veto the odd curse.
He _had_ to veto it in order to be able to pull another card, since he needed that freeze power up to counter Sam and Ben just staking out the ferry.
Time to watch the best series on the internet

Adam trying not to stand out in his costume, makes him actually stand out.
It's basically like "The villain could be anyone"
Villain (Adam):
“The trainer of Hamon could be anywhere!”
Adam: dresses like Lisa Lisa when relaxing after bathing.
Can't believe Adam was able to get that far, and to see him get caught... damn his luck streak ended
May this event in Emden be remembered lol
He didn't really have that much luck, he did pull like 3 curses in the span of one episode
@@GarfieldtheDestroyer yeah but last episode he had an insane lucky streak of good cards so it all balances out
@@slipping4415 yea regression to the mean
There was a castle 16 minutes by bus 421 away from Emden, also a nice distraction for during the wait time for the ferry
Runners can’t take non-local buses.
Doing this in Germany increases the randomness factor so much haha
Germany is high risk high reward. German train routes generally offer the most flexibility in terms of number of possible directions (which generally favours the runner) but it's als DB 😅
The confusion when they read "zug fällt aus" 😂
2:03 That cathedral looks amazing
Adam kind of came full-circle with the fans here in that he had the full disguise on and it still did nothing for him 😂😂😂
Yeah because he hung out somewhere with no people, should of stayed in the busiest area he could find.
But tbf there was literally no one else there this time. Last time he was in a crowd of people though I doubt he still would've fooled them.
@@mrsarkeybusy and also its best to be underground or at least coveted by a big building, like in a subway station or mall, since the tracker is more accurate under an open sky
But even the busiest area there (like train station) is not busy enough at that time
Kudos to Adam for eating the candy burger like a regular burger instead of piece by piece 👌
Why is he eating candy for breakfast 😂
I didn’t expect a little dock area of Emden turning into a literal manhunt.
Oh the next time they should include Dream!
PLEASE let that be satire

Adam should have tried that 9 o'clock ferry. Maybe it was delayed too!

Agreed too! Sadly it's posted quite late for me
It's impossible not to like this show. Impossible.
This and Ahsoka are indeed my Wednesday
15:06 Brian's eagle call gets me everytime
One great feature of this game format, is that we get to enjoy the dynamics of all the different pairing!
If Sam manages to take the Netherlands route next episode there is a decent likelyhood that he's gonna sit in the train I commute with everyday and even visit some town I'v regularly visited. Thats really cool.
Thats what i though too. Zutphen Sounds realy wierd when an American says it.
I love how in the end Ehen they advertise their Nebula Channel, they always look like some shy school Kids holding a presentation. It is so adorable
eagle sound of Brian just popping up upon seeing an American flag is just hilarious.😂😂
I like how they did the BeReal without even think about if Adam would see it lol.
Adam and Ben together in the snack zone is such a vibe
That brian scream during the American flag scene cracked me up lol 😂
They have to have a card that retroactively gives you coins for every time your train was delayed, like a reverse curse or kind of effect.
Adam was SO close to winning there! If that train was 15 minutes earlier, he would have won without a doubt.
Did he have the points to take the ferry already?
@@buzzerede yes he had
I think Adam would have had a decent chance by staying on the move. From Emden you can take local busses to Eemshaven, which takes a while. But once he gets there he could take the fairy from there to Borkum before having the chasers catch up. Instead by staying on foot somewhere for so long, it's too unrealistic not to get caught for so long!!
@@Marczkingi also think he got screwed because it was Sunday. Less options, less service, less people
also he should have checked if that ferry was late.....he could have won with that move....never expect anything to be on time
Adam could’ve tried going to Eemshaven they also do ferries to Borkem.
Wait.
He's younger??
Did not expect Brian's Bald Eagle call to make a reappearance 🤣
that wasn't brian that was actually a real bald eagle call
So being a German train nerd, I obviously had to look up the itineraries that the boys took (including the exact date) and while I really appreciate you guys making the series more interesting (and extended) for us all, the more accurate and smart thing for Adam to do would have been to get on the 6:02 train from Münster to Emden and then get on the 9 am ferry ;) He would have had to risk getting caught at the train station before the rest period, but I think it would have been worth it.
I always forget that it comes out but whenever it does its such a great surprise... Also the pronounciation of german places makes my day (Im german and its so bad I love it)
And of course the Deutsche Bahn is always late.
I loved the realization that "Wasserbetten" doesn't actually sell drinking water
The cut at 6:45 from “I would at least be paranoid” while eating McDonalds to weird canted angle of Adam in disguise with a McDonalds in frame is soooo funny. Thank you. 😂🤣😂🤣
This is a great documentary on German public transport
Interesting idea for the next season of Tag, either have the runners tracker turned off if the chasers get within a certain distance (ie. 1-2km) or have all trackers visible if the chasers get within a certain distance. Just seems like the chasers have an unfair advantage when it gets close.
I was thinking this too or like you can only look at it every ten minutes or something. It does seem like an unfair advantage since they basically don’t have to do anything but look at their phone to see where the runner is.
This!
5:10 is perhaps the best cut in this video 😂
RRX is way worse than DB in every way, no train ever leaves on time. Shame they blame DB for that one
Ben adopted the German spirit so fast, with ranting on the Deutsche Bahn like a pro.
especially considering he acts like every other german who blames them for things out of their control, like RRX
To see you guys in a city (Emden) that I visited last year is so crazy for me. So glad to see so much Germany in this season as a German :D ❤
I was skeptical of the grey t-shirt but Adam's disguise look is genuinely pretty cute.
"The Deutsche Bahn runs on time" *Every german viewer starts laughing*
well it was RRX that was delayed, not DB
3:36 "Confusing" is very generous and a way nicer adjective than what Germans who travel regularly with the Deutsche Bahn typically use... 😂
Imagine they just left Adam and flew back to the US, leaving him paranoid and afraid for his entire trip
Well, there are ferries from eemshaven in the netherlands that goes to Borkum. This connection is more often than the one from Emden ;) i really like this series! Well done boys!
Yeah, I can't figure out why he didn't go there and take that one. Likely would've made it, since the times are better.
I like how the game dev balanced this patch so that the random event, the delay of Deutsche Bahn, is a nerf for both team while adding whole lot of tension for both the players and spectators.

That chase sequence from Sam’s perspective made me laugh pretty hard.
If Adam was in a crowd it would work, but with only one person in the expected location the disguise is useless
yeah he forgot the assassin's creed rule of disguises only working in a crowd
That would be cool if they have the don’t track shop. That you can buy to make your tracker disappear for certain time. It will be depending on length (10 min-1500 or 30 min for 3500)

Predictions for the next episode: A lot of these Intercities and Sprinters in the Netherlands run every half-hour, so Ben and Adam can catch up pretty quick if Sam can't time his challenges right, plus many of these trains run more on-time than in Germany.
