      Not necessarily, I've lived all over the place, in countries with universal healthcare, with the same luxuries as here, it's all a matter of work. In Chile for example, i spent a year there working remotely, had all the same creature comforts. Didn't miss any of it. And better climate while working from our family cottage overlooking the pacific.
      Have also lived in Sweden, was lovely. Lived in Arizona, no intention of living in the US anytime soon, wasn't for me. I really thought Canada would be my forever home but one can't help but notice that things are not trending as they were in 83 when we moved here. We're no longer on the upswing. Inflation is out of control, especially at the grocery store

    I've worked in real estate photography, marketing, video production for 3 decades, I've never been to more houses to take photos where owners share that they can't afford their home anymore, they have to choose between mortgage or food and they opted to leave the country. It's shocking. I feel gutted most days, I'd love to be in a position to help folks like that. It's undeniable that things have changed. Even my family is looking into moving. The rat race is exhausting, shouldn't have to work 7 days a week to survive. I don't know what the answer is but I don't feel at home anymore and if you'd had asked me that a few years ago I'd have said you're crazy.

    Canada since the 1990s, has lacked quality jobs. It's been deindustrialized, forcing too many overly educated to chase the few number of quality jobs. And it's harder to start a business now, with too many regulations, and the banks won't lend.

    Candian government does not lay down a mandatory Canadian orientation and Cultural education process, even at such surge rates of migration. Not knowing Canadian values, the newcomers hang together and do what they know from their own culture. Slow and steady migration 25 years ago was more practical.

    All the safety nets that supposedly existed and that i paid for failed the test when i needed them during a time when a tyrannical government was en-forcing me to take a medical experiment. That broke my heart and I wanted to leave. But i'm still going to stick around because we need to make this place better.

    Could you please provide the demographic and statistical data that led to the unequivocal conclusion that 'everyone is leaving Canada'? From my understanding, there are no reputable studies or rigorous analyses supporting this claim, apart from potentially politically charged comments found on social media platforms like Facebook. Can you help clarify this assertion with credible evidence? Or maybe the point of this video is just political posturing that uses irrational Facebook post made by people that can barely write two sentences that don't contradict each other?

    As an international student, there are no jobs, not even for Canadian citizens. I went there with false promises of a better life. Thankfully, I come from a well-off family, so they could receive me back debt-free. My country is not in the best condition either... but at least the unemployment rate is at 2% and our private healthcare is not too expensive.
    I got sick while living in Canada and I had to wait in the emergency room for more than 5 hours... just to have a poor check up and the diagnosis was that I was fine, when I was not.
    Here in my country, for the same monthly rent I was paying for a 2m square room, you can live in an entire apartment for 4 months.

      Emergency rooms are for life threatening emergencies . urgent care is for non life threatening urgent care. Out patients is for a situation that requires tests or exrays. Walk in clinics are for people with no family doctor . learn triage system you wont wait 5 hours

      @@cpaton1284 You cannot visit a drop-in clinic if you don't have a family doctor in Ontario. My partner has been without a family doctor for 20 years, because his died. He's been looking, but there are few to no doctors taking new patients. Even my own doctor wouldn't take on my spouse, (when that used to be a normal thing in her practice), simply because she already has too many patients.
      If you don't have a doctor, basically your only recourse is to go to emerg, or put up with whatever is ailing you.
      Canada health care sucks, considering the outrageous taxes we pay to have it.

      Canada has had a terrible healthcare system for decades. So many Canadians are either refused healthcare or die on waiting lists. Why is everyone leaving Canada? Oh my, will we be empty soon? "I went there with false promises of a better life." Agreed, much of said 'better life' depends on a persons perspective. I wouldn't want to wait in an emergency room either; it's not the place if you are just sick, as you found out. Sadly there are people arriving with injuries worse than yours, harsh inconvenience having to wait as they get treated I'm sure. And obviously they were fine, fine enough to be here complaining about it, yes? Too bad they didn't have a family doctor instead of relying on the public system :)

      3 weeks back I went to the hospital with a severe pain. I could not wait till Monday to see my doc. I was 5 min in the waiting room. They took me in, asked some questions, arranged for x-ray and ultrasound and scheduled an OR. 6 hrs after arriving I was back home minus a septic gall bladder. Money never changed hands except for the taxi. In the US, I would now be bankrupt. You couldn't pay me enough to move to the US.

    Surpassed the United States in 2019 to have the world's wealthiest middle class. Second only to the United States to have the best performing economy in the G7. Always rated in the top ten countries for practically every metric measuring human well-being and always at the top or near the top as being the best country in the world in which to live. Canadians regarded as the most respected people in the world. Problems!? Of course but overall not too shabby.

    • @RMRealEstateProductions
      @RMRealEstateProductions Місяць тому

      @@paulburley7993 That's a terrible metric to measure anything because more people are in the poor bracket, our middle class shrank and our debt ratio is staggeringly high. The public health system is congested, more and more people going to the private sector, language issues here in Quebec where being English is becoming an issue. The new changes to capital gains taxes is demolishing investment. I've been working in the real estate world for 30 years, never in my entire career have I seen more cases of people HAVING TO sell their home cause they can't afford it anymore. PPP is what matters, doesn't matter if the middle class makes more than another nation if the cost of living is so high. You're lucky the leave the grocery store with much for $100 nowadays. It's hard to ignore those facts. You should instead look into this: "In a 2021 OECD profile of the Canadian economy, one of the authors' main takeaways was that Canada was losing its middle class relative to the rest of the developed world. Canada's share of middle income earners “has shrunk more than most others since the mid-1980s,"

  • @sanityimpaired
    @sanityimpaired Місяць тому

    The problem with "we should take care of our own first," is that it mischaracterizes the issue and presents a false dichotomy. We have enough to support our own and take care of our current immigrants. This isn't about only having the resources to help one or the other.
    People care about direct and short term costs, but ignore indirect and long term costs. That's the issue. We keep cutting funding to programs for our most vulnerable that more than pay for themselves by reducing indirect and long term costs. Homelessness is a great example of this, with the costs in police and ER expenses alone due to the homeless costing double what it costs to house them. Finland almost entirely eliminated homelessness among their citizens, and they saved a staggering amount of money oing so. We are literally paying more money so that people suffer homelessness.
    It doesn't help that bad faith politicians say things like "we should take care of our own first" as an appeal to common sense, but they then cut funding to programs that benefit Canadians as well as those that benefit immigrants, because the reality is they don't care about either. It's just a catchphrase to keep people in the dark about the real nature of the problem, and to shift the blame away from their own policies by scapegoating immigrants.

    • @eldeluxo
      @eldeluxo Місяць тому

      It's too bad that people like you can't be charged directly for supporting our excessive volume of immigrants. Let me guess, you're "well off", own your own house (or maybe a few) which makes you a typical Trudeau supporter who is blind to the hardships of actual Canadians.

    • @factsdontlie4342
      @factsdontlie4342 Місяць тому

      If we're cutting funding then how come the funding is going up? You can look up the budgets yourself online, they're going up. Just like our taxes, every single year, and our government debt. All while this funding and taxes have increased, the services all have gotten worse. Have you noticed that every time the government starts to deal with a problem they make it worse? Healthcare, housing, military, natural resources, heck, you can pick anything in Canada, because the government controls everything.
