I love that everyone is sleeping on Aiden. He is 3-1 in his first year against the division and almost went 2-0 against the chiefs. He has all the tools and now will have a full training camp as the number one. Just wait, he will win the division and all I hear is the Raiders need a QB or should start Minshew. This kid is a winner, and all the so-called experts don't have a clue! It's laughable and I can't wait to watch them all back pedal and jump on the bandwagon. RFL

💯 AOC had zero starting reps all year until McDaniels was fired, and AP promoted AOC to the starter. Had AOC entered the 2022 draft class, many pundits predicted AOC as a 1st round draft pick.

AOC record was 3-1 in the division. You'll lack foresight when you say he's not capable of running the Raiders offense effectively. He's having a full off-season to correct his flaws and will show improvement in his pre/post snap reads once he understands Luke Getsy system. He, along with the rest of the team, will be a problem moving forward.

@@MathisNFL This is truly one of the most difficult teams in the league to figure out and i know their roster very well. They have managed to put together probably the best young defense in the league especially if 7th overall Wilson gives them anything this year. I could legit make a case for 5-7 wins or 11-12 wins just as easily. I know I would stay away from betting for or against them for at least 6 weeks.

AOC has 1 and 2 - down and can run a la Gannon. Gannon was no great runner but got yards when 1 and 2 failed.
Now think about who receives the ball.
We have one or two superior runners. And some of the BEST in the league for receivers.
I’m not worried about AOC in the least. Let pride and poise prevail as the run your butt off to make a play QB’s display the fact this method does not always work!
I don’t think AP needs to be an XO coach. He has the locker room, and as long as he has a good surrounding team hell make the according adjustments. Hence why he hired like two former HCs so he can learn more to be a full time HC but also assist him in making said adjustments. Hopefully this also means the QB will have the play calling ability, something we’ve not had for a while. The last couple full time HCs we had hated QB changing the play at LOS, even if they saw the coverage change. All they were allowed to do pretty much was change protection scheme.
The Raiders main issue for the past 20 years has been getting rid of coaches too soon.

I disagree, I think the problem with the raiders the last 20 years isn't that they get rid of coaches too quickly. It's that Mark Davis keeps going after a shiny big name instead of a coach that can utilize our talent, ie gruden replacing del Rio after one bad season, McDaniels instead of keeping bissiaca. I think our bigger issue has been reaching for a need in the draft instead of just taking best player available.
Hope AOC takes that year 2 jump. Wk2 at Baltimore is a good barometer 4 the season.

I said the same thing their confidence will be a factor if they start to look better than people think and that can carry a young team. Either way i'm impressed how fast they turned their roster around especially on defense they have a lot of talented high upside players on defense and the offense is coming around as well they just have to get a lucky break at QB like the 49ers did.
AOC had a much better rookie year than many HOF QB's like Farve, Aikman, Bradshaw etc... We have a defense now. If he stays healthy he will be solid. He has some weapons on offense and 2 great TE's will help him underneath. The Defense needs to be elite and i think they can rise even more this year.

I don't know if you're a Raider fan, but this is an honest assessment of the offseason. it's definitely a weird direction, but NFL teams that create unique balanced paths generally win.

We didn't "hire him away" from the Chokers, he was FIRED after years of picking talent that never materialized, and Staley getting CANNED after AP out-coached him definitively. AP knows TALENT, Telesco can get the guys he needs to build a team of DAWGS! TOP-TEN defense overall, NUMBER ONE defense after AP took over an uninspired, under-producing, and disappointing squad, and coached them up to shock the NFL.

AP'S more than adequate as far as coaching goes. Jim Harbaugh is running out of luck, Sean Paton's a cheater, Andy's the only legit coach. We'll be fine. Chargers worry me more than KC, but never underestimate the Donkeys either.

I think our roster is solid. It comes down to getting decent QB play. I think Minshew and O'Connell wind up being solid backups at best. We'll wind up being kind of average and draft a QB next year.

It's infuriating how the media blindly disrespects the Raiders. I agree that Aidan is going to silence the critics who have made their living acting like not trading the future to move up for a QB was an epic fail, equaled only by picking a no-talent scrub like Bowers at 13. Let me tell you something there is a lot of few pieces that people do not realize about this reader's team that could really come out this year Tyree with ketchup all last year with a injury because of the missing man Jones Tyree had to be pushed in early then the raiders wanted to he will now move back out to the end then Kristian Wilkerson will have a force in the Middle with Butler then you have mad Max Crosby he in his own right is a force so the one question I have to everyone out there who do you double team on this d-line when they show Max blitz not even an extra tight end of running back and bump off the force that's going to be sent with four to five guys then they sleep on the corners and linebackers we have leading the charge we have proven linebackers from last year to this year will be a big difference in a full season with Antonio Pierce I said it here first we will make it to the playoffs we will make it to the super bowl it will be some nail biters and it will be some hard fart games😊

I honestly don’t like the Raiders, but I have to admit, I think they got something special right now. I don’t think (could be wrong) they will shake the division this year. I do think that they have some crucial missing pieces. Their defense is stellar. Reminds me of the Giants defense when Eli Manning was their QB.

The Raiders are my sleeper pick to finish last in the AFC. No QB. Their RB is in Green Bay. Their best offensive player wishes he were back in Green Bay. An inexperienced defensive minded position coach masquerading as a head coach in a division against three veteran Super Bowl caliber offensive minded coaches. The Raiders will probably be picking in the top 3 next April so they can at least get a QB then.

Bowers, Gallup, and the additions of JPJ and Andrus Peete will lead to more points in 2024. Those additions, plus more points per game and Maxx Crosby leading our elite defense, are going to make the Raiders a playoff team in 2024.

That Raider Defense under AP scored not only did they score but were the Best in the NFL at it and PFF’s best in the NFL. To see the young players like Wilson and Koonce make strides toward the end of the season along with guys like Jack Jones and Spillane this Defense could be the best in the NFL. Offensively The AOC was the 3 rd best rookie QB in the NFL and will be better Minshew has done numbers arguably better than Trevor Lawerence and Daniel jones . The 12 personnel with bruiser backs , talented playmakers and reinforced line will try to keep that great emerging defense off the field with smash mouth football. EOD AP is leading by example and the former Probowl Super Bowl Champion defensive captain has put his best foot forward with an expanded coaching staff of his former coaches which is brilliant . The team gelled well last year and will be gunning for KC for the West !

Telesco doesn't write up the contracts, that is/was Spanos' son who does that. Raiders have their own guy too. The cap and roster building wasn't Telesco's undoing, it was the coaches being hired and failing miserably with all that talent on the roster.
Forget about the first half of last season, we were 5-4 in the last 9. This season's team is better. AOC will be better. The only question is how much better are the other teams in our division?
I believe we have a shot of knocking off KC. It may get down to a tie breaker as to who had the toughest schedule.

For anyone familiar with the team it is certainly not a surprise that they spent their first pick on a offensive stud. I'm excited about JPJ and Wilkins as our lines always need to be shored up. The Raiders have a rep in the NFL, teams know, even if their team is superior that they're going to get hurt. We inflict the kind of pain that opponents carry into the following game. Truth! RN4L. If this staff can’t do it with Aiden then they couldn’t do it with Rogers, Mahomes, Hebert, or anyone. Aiden has enough QB tools to take us anywhere so let’s see if AP was smart enough to surround himself with the right tools to manage the game! If he has and does we could see ourselves in the mix this year and fighting for it all next year!

@@andrewbird57 only problem is 2 of those three super bowl caliber coaches are currently leading bad teams. The Chargers are not good. The 63 point trouncing the Raiders put on them may have been a bit of an outlier, but at no point last year did the Chargers appear to have a competent defense. Then they lose their 2 best receivers. Never mind the Broncos, who can celebrate a second round rookie QB that they reached for all they want, but their entire team is full of holes. Raiders at least can hang their hat on a top 10 defense and some serious receiving weapons. Not to mention a slightly above average offensive line. Not sure they need a hall of fame quarterback to win games. They need a guy who is accurate and doesn't turn the ball over. They may have that.
We don’t have a real qb as evidenced by everyone claiming minshew is playing against other teams (minshew is the better qb by far) and our defense is nowhere near as good as people think. We played some of the worst QBs in history at the tail end of last year which made us seem like we were elite, forgetting that anyone is elite against Easton stick etc. No qb + middling defense = 6 -7 wins. Ap’s first year a complete waste. Hope he gets 2 more cause this year will be a bust.
They have a really talented young defense especially if they use some of that money to sign a vet CB. Their offense god only knows. I could see AOC making a step forward he has more upside that's why so many fans want him to win the job but Minshew is a good insurance policy to have if Aiden flops. I could make a case for 5-7 wins and just as easily 10-11 wins I know I would stay away from betting for or against them they really are a wildcard.
I don’t see it, but if O’Connell takes a giant step forward and they average 24+ points a game with that defense, the Raiders will win 12+ games. No cold weather games this year will help.
