  • In this final part the piston and con-rod are made and the engine test run. The making process will not be shown as it is the same as the Dyno 0.25 cc so please refer to its clips, or better still, watch those posted by Peter Valicek (Valic000) as they show better model engineering techniques.

Cool... I have this engine since more than 20 years, and still running. I ordered it from New Delhi. I had mounted it on free flight balsa Cessna, but then plane broke, engine intact. I love this engine :-)

Reminds me of my attempts to get my new ED Bee started. Christmas 1960! I took it back to “Hobbies” shop and they got it going.
I use a half-a starter these days. I prefer to break a con rod than my precious finger! I rather like my Clan diesels. Light and quiet and powerful enough.

Once bitten twice shy, that's why I only play with little diesels now, to save my precious finger!!

Cant the reward be sweeter? I can almost smel the littel beauty overhere...I also prefer to make my fits a bit on the tight side.If run in wel,it wil stay for a long time good.Just like you show, low rpm, lots of fuel to wash out the metal particels and a bigger prop in the begin.
It looks so easy, but here is some nice houers of work in the final stage! Thumbs up!

Peter, yes, it was another success making the piston using your method and you should be proud of that! This time I was a little advanturous as I only left about 0.05mm material to be lapped. I only had to lap for a couple of minutes before it entered the cylinder and the rest of the lapping was done inside the cylinder using it as the lap.

I can imagine that. Also when I make a rebuild, every time is always something a bit different...but the same principel... Big regards to the UK!

Were you holding the rpm down? I have one of these engines new in the box and wonder if it has power enough for a small model? It certainly is quiet. Thanks, Paul

+caesarillion .Thank you for your interest. Yes I was holding the RPM down for running in and should be more powerful after that. You are very lucky to own a NIB example.

From Sharma Aero Engines and models , in Rajasthan , India , they are making diesel aero engines for the last 50 years or more . Good Engines or PAW Diesel engines from England , Tony Eifflaender - these engines are very reliable .
