None of the new bikes have Old School look. NONE. Do not know where you guys get this crap. Been riding actually since 1963 and cannot say that anything is old school as you say about the newer bikes.
Picked mine up 11/11/20. Last bike was a 2003 road king, decided a cruiser in order. I’m 6’4” and 265 lbs. Bike handles my size well. I have zero issues with the seat, the forward controls are fantastic. My size 14 boots fit fine on the floorboards. I spent 3 months researching and reading, and this came out on top! Can recommend this bike for all riders. My 10th bike, may be my best! Thanks Infinit Ryda, you helped!!
I had a road king classic 20 years ago, bought it new.. want a new ride.. beginning to consider this.. I’m thinking the ultra and road glide are just too big ... maybe not necessary .. can you share why you went to this ride Vice back to a road king or other touring model?
I live in the Santa Cruz mountains, lot more great twisting roads. Bike feels amazing on freeway, plenty of power and handles the mountain roads incredibly. Plenty of power, great torque, checked all my boxes! Looks fantastic too!
I don’t no what bike veteran riders must have I never got that “beginner bike” thing besides a sportster It’s a 107 handling is great and is one of the best looking Harley’s they make. Unless u are into the touring look this bike is for everyone in my opinion
Nice review and Video Just Bought This Bike About a Month Ago and Love it....Am New Rider Just Finished Harley Rider Academy a Few Weeks Ago am 44 Years Old and Level Headed(Some Dirt Bike Exp. in Teens) its a Nimble and Fun Bike To Ride But Does Have Some Power so Depends on Rider.
I just got a old 2002 softail heritage cholo style. It's used but for 6900 it was not a bad purchase for a new rider like myself. Right now I'm training in my neighborhood until I feel comfortable on the road.
Thanks for the video, my son just bought this bike, and I had the opportunity to ride it. Your right it's really nice. I own a 2018 fatboy, which I have a blast on. But this bike is good to go. Do you have any videos with the 2018 Fatboy? Thanks again. Ride Safe
Fun review ... I got a big smile on my face when I heard your reaction to the first real grab of the throttle!! Damn, not that's what it's all about!! Cheers ...
I sat on 10 Harleys at the dealership this week (I'm 6'5", 225lbs) and this was the most comfortable. Thinking of getting one. Would add the tallboy 2 up seat for sure, but much roomier than others I sat on and I LOVE the classic WWII military vintage looks.
The Scout really turned my head two months ago. I was smitten. But after researching I'm leaning toward a 2018 Slim. HD has local dealership and infinite accessories and clubs and ...but the Scout Bob is a head turner, I'm 67 and like the retro look of these two bikes. Thanks for weighing in.
I just got a 2015 slim after I got hit on my dyna ,dam cellphone driver hit me after recovering the dyna was a little to tall so I test rode a slim and I got to say the slim is comfortable light low seat the only problem with it is the handle bars they are to low so I got 18" ape hangers and oh hell yeah I'm a happy boy the slim is a great bike
Man, your reviews remind me why I’m getting back into riding after too many years..new sub..so I just watched your street bob and this one..also 6’ but 35lbs heavier than you so I’d like to ask is the slim that much more comfy a ride than the street bob? Any thoughts are appreciated..👍🏽
When you say “New Rider” are you referring to as beginner as in “NO Experience” ? so would you rate this Motorcycle as a good beginner first time owner to get? by the way that Helmet looks cool what brand is it
There's no excuse for squidding sir!! I just got done ridin my FXDLS for a few hours fully geared up and it's 106° here with a heat index of 119° 😂 it was miserable though lol
What’s the cc on it? Any rider modes or abs on it? I’m a new rider - still browsing for a first bike. Someone suggested this one to me. Thank you for sharing your review
Bought a ST Std last yr love it, first HD, coming from Brits. Almost got a slim but I honestly had so much sticker shock went with the std. Do you think the slim is better than the std for a new HD rider bc of the bigger front tire and western style handlebars vs the mini apes/ small front of the std?
FXDR But if those are your top concerns, get a sport bike Harley is for making riding on the street, traffic, back roads, highway, city, etc. fun Sport bikes are for peak performance on a track
good morning MR. INFINIT RYDA, i am a new rider 1.5 years since the first time i rode, and have attained my license, my first bike over 15 months ago was a honda rebel 500 with mid-controls, i am very short at 5 foot 4 inches, i am extremely interested in this bike, as i feel i am over the rebel and it lacks umph, power etc. in my in-experience self, do you think at my height i would be able to handle this bike, as it has forward control? in your opinion, i would appreciate your 2 cents, i noticed you mentioned in this video manly new riders which makes me happy, and you even mentioned a good bike for shorter riders, both make me want to pull the trigger on this bike, thanks again.
Don't care about (old school-new school) crap. This is what a motorcycle should look like. If you can do 700 miles a day without scraping parts or a break down. It's a good bike to have...
whats the story with this bike on the custom scene? im looking for a HD, but just cant pick one up. Was looking into sportsters as they have a very huge aftermarket customisation area, but they just dont look right to my taste to begin with and also the engines on them lack a punch to me. This Softail Slim is way more appealing, with more powerful engine, tear drop tank, plain round old school headlight but i just cant find the customs on them as everything is mainly for the iron...
I wouldn't ever recommend a big twin HD to a new rider. Way too much power low in the rev range. Too easy to accidently grab too much and get oneself in trouble. Inlines tend to make more power, but it's higher up the range so you have to go looking for it. Most of them are docile as pussy cats at lower rpms.
I Just bought this Bike in black denim about 2 weeks ago and I am a new rider. My gawd this bike is awesome ! Cant stop riding it !
so is this your first bike? if so would you recommend it to beginners?
Mine arrives in about 3 weeks.
I just bought this bike too, first bike. Stoked to get out and learn it 🤘
Have to cut the smile off my face when i ride lol
It’s a bit much for a first bike. I recommend a sportster for a beginner. Master that then get the slim!
That was my first Harley. It pushed me to the back of the seat. Was a blast for a first bike. Old school look
Absolutly this new engine are strong but smooth... Now if we turn hard the gaz manet... It kick your ass like a T- rex !
So what about this bike is for new people? What would be the upgrade to this bike? As far as performance and handling

I have been interested in the Slim. This has been one of the more helpful reviews.

I just ordered one after testing one out. I can’t wait till it comes in! Thanks for the review.
Nice review. Thanks! I'm looking to get the Slim, so this helped a lot
Thanks for putting this one out Ryda! 👍🏻

I've got a 2018 in Denim Black and have just rolled over 50 000km. Great bike✌✌✌

It's at 6:02 when I'm really hating a red Yota Rav4.....

Awesome review of this I’ve been stuck between this and the Indian scout. Thank you!
Which did you decide on?
@@theinfinitryda I went with the softail slim! Thank you so much for all your vids!!

Great voice.
3 minutes in and you dropped some cool trivia!
You got a new sub.
Great review I am a new rider and I’m very interested in buying the softail slim thank you for the insight I think I’ve made up my mind
Nice. Ride safe

As a short rider the seat hight isn’t that of a concern as is leg reach on those forward controls.
I have this as my first bike. The way you open the throttle looks like you are flying on it.
A little. Lol
What year is the bike? I thoroughly enjoyed this video. That last part of the test ride was so fun!
When you say “New Rider” are you referring to as beginner as in “NO Experience” ? so would you rate this Motorcycle as a good beginner first time owner to get? by the way that Helmet looks cool what brand is it
Been kicking it around selling my iron 883 for the softail slim s
That’s a hard choice
À good motorcycle absolutly !
Great video!
Why thank you

@Spyderhead hey whatever you want to do, do it! only takes one mistake or mishap.
How would you compare the Slim to the Fat Bob 114 as far as handling and nimbleness? Nice review?
I am 5'5" and ride a Road King but I feel like at 67 it is starting to feel too big. I am seriously considering this Bike
What’s the cc on it? Any rider modes or abs on it? I’m a new rider - still browsing for a first bike. Someone suggested this one to me. Thank you for sharing your review
How you feel about your arms and shoulders appearing in the rear views?
If HD took the time to read comments, they may just find that they really messed up when they discontinued the Slim.
No. I think it’s more of a style preference
So if this is for new riders? What harley bike would be for someone looking for speed/performance/handling?
FXDR
But if those are your top concerns, get a sport bike
Harley is for making riding on the street, traffic, back roads, highway, city, etc. fun

Is this dealership in Texas?
No. Charlotte
@@theinfinitryda That was a great video. One of the best I've ever seen of it's type. Loved it.
@@howardmiller9852 thank you. I appreciate it. Share the content if you want. I’m trying to grow quite a bit over the next year.
What year model is the bike? I tried to click on the link to see it, and it's a private account. Would be nice to know......
That was a softail slim that I’m sure isn’t available anymore.
Im thinking about getting this bike actually but I want to know, does it sound like a harley?
Once you put pipes on it it does.
Why air cooled?
Um, because it’s a Harley
cool ,I just bought a new 2020 yesterday LOL
Nice. How you like it?
What is that color it looks bad ass

Antanas Rapkevicius they have a decent after market community as well and some parts are interchangeable
Never liked the footrest scraping on turns......Money paid for that and it's grinding away.....
The MC really FU by discontinuing the Softail Slim in my opinion, great bike … sad
I agree to an extent
I find the 48 is better for handling than the slim
Maybe because of the shorter wheelbase
Maybe and it's almost 200lbs lighter as well.
M8 is faster but don't sound as good as the twin cam
100 percent true
My gawd the stock pipes suck on this thing! It sounds like a gold wing. That would be the first thing to go!
That’s pretty much all motorcycles except Ducati. Stock pipes must go before leaving the showroom

I like it because it looks like a fat boy. Without the solid wheels.
True
