You all seemed really nice. Glad you all enjoyed your holiday/vacation. Should have gone to Camden town and somewhere less touristic like Brixton or West London , maybe Ealing near me. Lots of cute pubs there
Programme is alright but the stupid faces all the time .eeehhhee URGH
If you ever come back, the oldest pub (probably) where Shakespeare is reputed to have staged a play or two in the courtyard, is just off Borough High Street (the road leading to Borough Market).
@@miaschu8175 - The George? There is a great picture of Alfred Hitchcock and Ingrid Bergman in one of the booths there. I think this is from the same series: avax.news/pictures/41128
Did you know the real London bridge is in America ,Arizona
As a British Londoner, nothing makes me more proud than to see tourists enjoying the city (even with bad weather) Great video. Proud to live here
Yeah right you may fool the Americans but you cant fool me!!! London is an overpriced Housing crisis, Universal credit, soon to be NHS privatised, Owned by Chinese and Russians, gentrifying overpopulated, damp, Brexit stalling about to trade with USA, millennial Generation RENT, Shithole and that's why I sold my house in West London and moved to Milton Keynes and currently living in USA for now and I wouldn't exactly call it England tbh
@Alqu001 ! True.
@Mike Oxbigger Where did you move to Mike?
One less northerner in London. Happy days
@Mike Oxbigger you'll be missed. Perhaps they will erect a statue in your honour
This is possibly the best American vlog of London I have seen. London is my home and it is always interesting to see it through other's eyes. Also I take it for granted, so it is refreshing. Most other vlogs focus on the major tourist sites, places I rarely ever go to. But this has a different feel, with a smattering of the other London as you live it. Beautifully shot and edited as well.
@Frank Clarke but NYC not much different believe me...20 years living here
Frank Clarke you an idiot, London food is much much more better and flavoursome, also it rains 126 days in New York City and in London 105 days, both cities are great in downtown areas, however, London much more to do, and New York is depressing outside downtown areas, this is how the real New York looks where everyone lives, and London suburbs are way better:
ua-cam.com/video/iI2hJ3kiF0k/v-deo.html
Frank Clarke so u used some very old pics of London, and made it officially one part of London, infact very very small number of London has bad areas left, however, and oh the tube closes up around 1am and 24hrs on Friday through to Sunday, entire New York areas look like that and this:
ua-cam.com/video/RViyWk3Hxjc/v-deo.html
Frank Clarke so u want to play that game? First u started slagging off my city and now u posting videos about London poverty, but u know the truth when you see shithole areas like Bronx/queens and Brooklyn, son, here’s one on poverty:

I’ve been to many capital cities around the world, but nothing touches London. There is something very magical about the place. There is so much history and I have never been to any other city in the world that has so many famous sites to see, and if course it is home to the most famous monarch in the whole world Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Nah london is overrated yall need to see Manchester

If you grow up in the UK (or Europe), it is easy to forget how lucky you are with culture history and in particular built heritage.
It only just struck me a few years ago that my town has a basically a twelfth century cathedral.. And that I was baptised in font that was almost a thousand years old. '' How crazy is that'.
It is like suddenly realising the old picture in your hallway is a rembrandt.
Americans go crazy if they have baby clothes that were worn by their grandfather. I was baptised in a font that comes from a time when there were no printed books.
America is a great place - but the heritage here is so overflowing, we hardly notice it.
Yes, I've been increasingly appreciating this about the UK. We have lovely old buildings everywhere (alongside modern ones of course, but still).
@@me-ln4pd When I visited I did not find new York State or San Francisco ugly though. To me everything looked like Sesame Street or a scene from an Edward Hopper painting. Cool!
I live in the English Midlands and remember talking a few years back in a chatroom to someone from northern Oklahoma about how I was 90 minutes by train from London. I just took it for granted but he was blown away by it.
Are you from Exeter?
Funny you say this, I was was married in a church that's mentioned in the Domesday Book! History is everywhere and we do tend to take it for granted at times.
I was born and raised in NYC and spend a lot of time in the UK, I agree London is better then NYC.
I'm born and raised in London and I'm going to apply to columbia soon to live in nyc for a period of my life. I've always wanted to.

Yea but there are so many things that are impossible to pronounce unless you know before hand. Take Southwark for example, not pronounced South-Wark like you’d think but sutherk in real terms, so cut them a break!!.

i feel like a lot of Londoners - myself included - can take the city for granted. definitely need to take some time out of my day to appreciate it more because I feel like I forget sometimes what an amazing history and culture our city has
London has a lot to offer in terms of history sight seeing ect.The countryside from top to bottom of the country has really stunning views, each area is different.
I use to live in London in 2000 - and I still have London in my heart- I wish I go back one day again. I love London
I had a 10-hour layover in New York a couple of weeks ago and I explored Manhatten and a bit of Brooklyn. I felt like I needed a shower afterward. But London...the architecture, the trees, the parks...absolutely no comparison between the two. And not to mention that the tube is LOADS cleaner than the New York subway.
I may have mentioned this in a previous video, but I was born in London and moved to the States when I was one years old. I just returned this past summer to visit family and it was MAGICAL. My sis and I just booked tickets to go this summer. She hasn't been back in over 30 years. We can't wait!
Please come back to this comment thread and tell us how it goes
ALL these people who are raving about London instead of visiting come and live in London see if after 18 month you still feel the same with the dirt and overcrowding and expensiveness not to mention the violence

Funny how we take things in our daily life for granted, I live in the North of England. I'm looking out of my window and I can see a building, I see this building everyday, walk past it most days, most days I don't give it a second thought. The building I'm talking about is an 9th century castle 🤷♂️

"Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
- Samuel Johnson 1777
Mr Johnson may have bee correct back in 1777, but London is a bowl of everything shitty. I say turn the m25 into a road around a lake.
Why , Sir, you DO realise that would include the area of Eltham where you were born.I had 29 great years in my beloved Inner London and made a snap move to go to The South East London / Kent Suburbs in 1983. Been a fantastic last 36 years with few problems.Close to London's 100,000+ Official "Places Of Interest" and yet 15 minutes from the heart of Kent and less than 10 minutes from The M25. I have a near 200 acre park, literally,on my doorstep with endless fields, woods and meadows nearby. It's still predominantly British and I don't even have a lock on my back door in the same house I bought in '83....
He also said "the best view in Scotland is the road to England !" Heheheh racist old git !
You made me want to visit London!!
(and i bloody live here!!) 🤣
Hahaha me too
Pretend you're a tourist, pick a day, and spend a couple of hours on a Thames cruise and a walk through the parks around Buckingham. Show up one morning and take in the Guard change or have your photo taken next to a Queen's guard. Walk across the Tower bridge and back, stroll around Piccadilly Circus and Covent Garden. Stop in at Harrod's, just to say you were there. Take in the city's fantastic museums. Dine in Chinatown. Do a Jack the Ripper walk. Have someone take your photo crossing Abbey Road. By then, you'll have checked off more blocks than most tourists ever could. I lived and worked on the Channel, but spent the weekends in London, so I always had a to-do list on my trips.
Now, for day two....
@@bradthompsonuk2011 Do tourists really prioritise London Chinatown? Oof, bad decision. It's not very good at all.

I am from the north of England, traditionally we don't get along with Londoners. That said. London is the best city I have ever been to and it truly is magical. Regards comparisons, it's hard to compare NYC with London. The history alone blows you away. I always get warm and fuzzy when I am in London. It has so much history, it is though the city is talking to you and dragging you on a journey. Love the place.
I am from Birmingham (UK), and i totally agree with your sentiments about London. The place buzzes on all levels. I go every year for a few days. Just love the place.
Probably one of the most beautiful vlogs I've seen on any city, exquisite lighting and the music is sublime, you should think of going into film making or something similar, you have a rare talent

I mean... you can’t really compare them. London existed first as Londinium in the Roman Empire.
It predates the whole of America by over a thousand years.
London Paris & Rome have magic in them like no other cities in the world......
Kay Flip real cities? Rome is a city rich in history and culture. Just because your ignorant to it doesn’t make it not so

@Kay FlipGlass huge boxes are no match for beautiful classy historical building that are 1000's of years old, the best part of those cities you have mentioned are the old historical building, i would put Hong Kong and Tokyo
along side London Paris and Rome for beauty but i would defiantly swap New York for San Francisco which is easily america's most prettiest city mainly because of the setting the streets and those old pretty wooden american houses,

Hi. Ive lived and worked in London all my life and i have never ever heard of London being described as cute! Trust me, like in every major city the planet over, there are some very very grim nasty parts of London that are no where near and never will be 'cute'!
@@tilerman Yeah but the centre, probably the only bit most tourists will go to, is generally pretty charming. I especially think the narrow roads are "cute" to Americans/Canadians/Australians (no idea where the above poster is from, though) because everything there is super spread out.

Funny story, all the buildings in London when they started to get tall had to be built so certain places around london (and in the surburbs like Richmond) could still see St Pauls from that location line of sight.
robert Chin I live in Richmond, and in Richmond park there is a spot called king kenry's mound where you can see st pauls from. There is a narrow strip of land which is protected and there have never been trees planted in it so nothing blocks the view. Its pretty cool
Shame you didn't come in the spring, summer, autumn to experience London in its full glory

As a Londoner born and bred - videos such as these make me realise how beautiful the city really is. I guess us Londoners take it for granted. There you'll meet real Londoners as the only people who live in Central London are multi-millionaire Russians!!
Interesting fact for you, the slightly curved building at 8:22 had a design flaw that they found during construction. Because it is curved it reflected sunlight down to the street below, and it got so hot that cars physically melted. They had to change the type of glass they used so that wouldn’t happen.

well an older London bridge, the original was OLD and theres been a lot of them, also when I say old I mean something like 1,000 years not 100 lol
Lord Inter Yours correct. The Arizona bridge was built in London during the Victorian era. It replaced a medieval stone bridge, that in turn replaced one of several earlier still structures, many made of wood.
London Bridge existed long before your nation did lol
Not true he knew what he was buying
I'm amazed that you managed to make my crappy home town look as good as you did in this video (especially on such a miserable dull and dreary day). The video was beautifully shot, and it has made me see London in a whole new light! It guess it's easy to take familiar surroundings for granted when you see them every day, and so you don't really appreciate what's on your own doorstep until you see it from someone else's perspective.
If you think London is crappy then you are spoiled and wouldn't be happy anywhere, my city has fewer people than the smallest London borough (not including City of London) and doesn't have even a fraction of the things you have right on your doorstep.
Do you remember Edward G Robinson to Steve McQueen in The Cincinatti Kid ? The closing scene (it;s on here ) sums up the difference between the old maestro ) Edward g. AND LONDON and the young talented Steve McQueen and New York.......
After The Maestro; LONDON has won everything he leaves the table surrounded by his cohorts and says to the dispirited Steve : New York......." Now see here you're good kid...but while I'm around you will always be second best...." LOL....you can't beat 2,000 years of history,my friend...:)
What camera do you use to film???
All gear is linked in the description!
What’s the song playing in the beginning?
It shows when someone puts time and effort into editing 👏🏻
Thanks for the kind words about our city, keep up the quality! I am subscribing
Just found the fab channel. Loving it. Can anybody tell me if the music is Bon Iver, or maybe one of Justin's other bands? Many thanks
Top tip next time you're in London:
the building featured at 8.22 is affectionately known as the Walkie Talkie building and at the top there is a fab viewing platform called Sky Gardens that also has a bar, café and restaurant all in a miniature rain forest setting. It's free to go up there but it's best to book in advance as space is regulated. Amazing views especially at sunset on a sunny (rare) day.
Stunning VLOG for production values, camera work and music. You should show it to the tourist people. Also got the feeling you really loved it and could easily live there. Dont forget the UK isnt just London and it isnt all about the biggest and best architecture. Subscribed to watch more of your work.
London is, without compare, the greatest tourist city on earth. There's something around every corner in the main body of the city itself. I was fortunate enough to be a native, although I left to live elsewhere in the UK as a child but, as much as I've loved travelling the world, and visited many cities that I've hugely enjoyed, I've never found a city that compares to London. However. If you're making your first trip to the UK and wanting a 'British' or 'English' experience, take note. London is a fantastic tourist city with a fantastic history and iconography, but it's also a hugely international city and not truly reflective of a British lifestyle. To experience British culture get out and visit another British city. Personally, my own recommendations would be Liverpool, Edinburgh, Bristol and Belfast as the best four provincial cities in the UK to visit.
Where do you live now,my friend ? I loved your knowledgeable comments...
Very cool opening footage (camera work, music, editing) - well done. It's really nice to hear foreigners appreciate our fine country - even London!
Lovely vlog of your travels in London. So many iconic parts of London beautifully captured. Many thanks. Really enjoyed this thank you. Another Brit. P.S. Your camera is really good!
This is absolutely amazing! I study in London and I love it. It's clearly obvious you loved it too. This is definitely the best video I've seen🙂
The original London ( not Tower) Bridge was sold to an American and shipped stone by stone by sea to California.
Actually it was shipped to Arizona. -lol. It wasn't the original it was built in the early 19th c. to replace an earlier bridge.
The original London Bridge fell down, hence the nursery rhyme.
The original London Bridge had all buildings on it also it was a lot more than just a bridge
The music and editing makes this video so nice 🙂 good job, I live in London and love it
