      The Microvore Diet i really like your focus on micronutrients and gut bacteria but why should i listen to you? what about your education/experience is better than the others you dismiss? the fact that you recommend only a plant based diet while talking about the importance of micronutriments leaves me higly skeptical. what plant provides your b12? you really don't think that nutrient density of beef liver makes it worth consuming a couple times a week? and why would you avoid fish that are high in omega 3s when the research is very clear that fish oil is far more useable than say flax seed oil, especially for people who gave a compromised microbiome? and what about the clearly beneficial use of bone broth to heal a leaky gut? sounds more like you're personal politics and making money ahead of maximizing people's health.

    *~update~* so I started using your checklist and I'm a little astounded. I logged everything I ate today in cronometer and I was in the green for almost everything. This was just by adding chia seeds, brazilian nuts, and leafy greens+ non starchy vegetables into my meal. I also decided to use my organic miso paste as my fermented food option. I've never hit so much green on cronometer its really exciting. There's more stuff that needs tweaking but this is really exciting.

    I am still eating a ton of fruit for breakfast and snacks. Does this matter? Especially now that oranges and papayas are so good. I would eat one papaya and 5-6 oranges. The rest of my meals are vegatables, filling foods...(like your suggestions) I make kombucha, kimchi all of that. If you can post more suggestions for breakfast that would be great. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world, Savy

    As someone who is currently studying genetics and biochemistry, most of what you are saying seems consistent with my own scientific understanding. That being said, what exactly are you basing "microvorism" on? Do you have scientific findings or clinical trials that support this way of eating? Where did you obtain this information and are you able to share the sources? Again, I'm superficially in agreement with the general idea, but would love to be able to do more research! Thanks!

    Just found your channel and it's been so useful, so thank you! :)
    What I'm currently doing whilst trying to lose weight is slightly restricting my calories (by 300 a day) and also sticking to a balanced whole plant foods vegan diet. Is this okay, or do you think i should stop restricting calories?

    Do you recommend juicing? I've been doing a green juice every morning for the last 15 days before breakfast trying to put as much good stuff in there as I can since I'm not a big fan of actually eating stuff like kale, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cranberries etc. I'm sure it can't hurt anything but I'm wondering how much good it really does

    • @alisonwonderland3248
      @alisonwonderland3248 8 років тому +2

      it would benefit more to blend those foods into green smoothies because juicing gets rid of the fiber in the foods. plus having smoothies helps to satisfy more than juicing does. hope this helped :)

    • @samanthatheriot8879
      @samanthatheriot8879 6 років тому

      Combination....juice things like potatoes, celery and greens then blend up with additional greens and cucumbers etc. This way you get a high concentration of nutrients with some fibre as well.

    what happens when a woman has pcos and recovers from years of birth control consumption?
    its been a year since ive stopped using it. i exercise and try different ways of eating but its like my body does not recover.
    i just started taking a supplement to help me with my insulin resistance and i think its better. i actually can experience the feeling of "being full".

    I feel like I was just starting to get the hang of hclf, even though I started in June or July last year. But I still haven't gotten the physical results I thought I would. I've been sticking with it for the animals but its frustrating that its so complicated to lose the extra fat with out starving yourself or working out for a billion hours. Feeling kinda disheartened atm, but will check out your site later.

    • @christabelkelly2340
      @christabelkelly2340 8 років тому

      Awww no!!! Stick with it, your body will get used to the diet and you will eventually start losing the weight. I had weight gain when becoming vegan, eating intuitively (smaller portions - listening to my body) and upping the fat intake and protein helped me. Keep your head up you're doing an awesome job :)))

    • @sheatheunicorn
      @sheatheunicorn 8 років тому

      +Christabel Kelly thanks friend! i still struggle with intuitive eating from all the years of not eating properly. But I think it takes time to reverse a decade or more of bad habits. I'm a work in progress lol.

    Since I started a low fat vegan diet two months ago, I've lost 25 pounds and now I am stuck there. I still have 160 to lose! :( I am walking more and hope it'll come off. I just feel like I am doing everything wrong. I wished I could have someone just tell me what to eat. I feel hopeless. I've been fat for so long and I'm sick and need to lose this blubber. I hate myself for not being able to do this better.

      +Jayme Black What is your diet like?

    • @carbarelifev7466
      @carbarelifev7466 8 років тому

      tamcon72 Just low fat whole plant foods. Rice, potatoes, lots of veggies, some fruit... I do on occasion have nuts and seeds. Just an ounce here and there. I don't seem to have much of an appetite lately and have tracked what I eat, the past week I've run 900 to 1100 calories. I know that's bad.

    • @tamcon72
      @tamcon72 8 років тому

      Jayme Black Try eating more simple food, and see what happens; it's possible that your body is retaining fat because you're underfeeding it. Maybe limit your starch to only one kind, like just rice or just Russet potato?
