    Thank you for making this video and making the basic version free. This is a game changer for a new student in optics with no prior experience and limited financial resources. It certainly break down entry barrier for us. Hope to see more of these tutorials and maybe a discussion forum.

    Thank you for sharing this. Everyone who doesn't want to pay 16kUSD for Zemax - just to do some optics design sometimes - will make a good use of it.

    Is there a maximum number of surfaces permitted with WinLens free?

      It's only limited by your RAM, I guess. It works with about 50 optical elements for sure..
