I love the very detailed tutorial and speaking of a manner where in we don't have to use caption or keep rewinding the video in order to understand. I really can't thank you enough. I agree with all you said. There are so many things people dont know about the S Pen and how good it is. It is one of my favorite things about the phone. Actually, the fact that you can write with the S pen even when the screen is off is one of my favorite features of the phone. Also , as you mentioned, the samsung note-taking app is so underrated and not really given the credit it deserves. I personally use it as my notetaking app for my samsung devices. one thing that I have notice on other reviewers whether is a phone, tablet , watch or earbuds and the rest of the Samsung ecosystem is the seamless connection and how well Samsung devices work with each other. you are one of the few that I have noticed that actually knows tons about Samsung and the full scope of their devices. really appreciate your Channel.

I'd love to see more S Pen features! I haven't used mine much, but there's definitely a few things I see myself using more in the future. I found out when drawing in some art apps, that the S Pen has pressure sensitivity, making it a great option for on the go digital artists, and I think using the magnify feature will really help me when I'm trying to read while on public transit. I knew about the pen button as a shutter, which will really help my photography, but the handwritten notes on the always-on display? THAT will be useful!
It's such a time saver for basic little things. I have to enter my odometer in my car when I pay for petrol so I just write it on screen off memo and pin it to always on display. It's the Swiss army knife of pens
I love the magnifying feature, I use it so often!

I am receiving my s23 ultra today, and your videos are helpful. I've had the note 10 and never used the s pen, but I want to learn how to use my phone as well as the s pen to its full potential. I generally stick with the plus lineup.

I loved this video! I'm a huge fan of the S- pen. Actually, my first Galaxy Note 3 ages ago had the S-pen.
Since then all my phones were the notes, I've had the Note 8, Note 20 Ultra, now the combined type that is S23 Ultra and even I've had a tablet that had the S-pen, can't even remember the model!
I loved this video so much, I've learned actually a few things I suspected existed, but I never had the time to completely learn everything, lol
Though, most of what you mentioned, I do use regularly... and I'm a huge fan of Samsung Notes as well😂

Thanks. Spotify -1 pen button click = Stop/Start. 2 pen Clicks = Next song. Works to about 4 metres away.
is there any way to have dex running and use the spen for taking notes and drawing on the phone screen while the apps are running on the tv/monitor? i have not been able to find this info anywhere and figured that i would ask here since you seem to THE best samsung channel and a fellow Dex user
how many likes can I give for this video? everytime some one make a video about the ultras is just to talk about cameras on 90% of the video... it's like a cliche, the ultras does mutch more productive things that most of people can imagine this phones are a real tool on hands. Hi there I would like to ask your opinion, perhaps you could have 13:37 a small review. Regarding the S pen and changing the tips as I've seen titanium allow products. But I'm not sure if these would damage the screens on tab S9 ultra and S24 ultra. And is there any different tips that can be purchased?

(@ 73 years old) I love it! ... but having a challenging time learning the basics of a smartphone. Your vids are great but seem geared for someone with at least Some experience ... I need some handholding at this point and need a more beginner-oriented video. Then on to all of YOUR great videos. Can you recommend or have a video that would help this struggling old man?

I love the Spen, when my note 10 broke the Spen is the reason I bought the S23, I personally love to doodle with it when bored.

I've had the Note10 for a few years and am still struggling to find much use for the S-Pen beyond the basics. 1. Camera, 2. Annotate Images/captures and that's about it. The handwriting just comes out like spaghetti on the page and none of the OCR/Handwriting Apps appear any good (if you have any suggestions?). I'm not artistic, so the "paint" type apps are of no use, and the 'air gestures' are to vague - may as well interact with the device. That said, I've watched a few of your videos tonight and am liking them, esp ahead of a S23U upgrade.

When Air Command is open, go into the settings cog down the bottom left corner. Select Air Command from that menu, then select the shortcuts menu option. You can add and remove shortcuts from there!

Thank you! You need to have the Always on Display turned on to some degree! Whether that be tap to show or always on

Hi ... loved your video. Need an advice from you. I have this app called S-Note from my Note 5, i installed even on my Note 9 - as it helps me take notes page wise for hundred of pages. I want to buy the S23 ultra - will that old S-Note be allowed to be installed on S23 ultra ? As for my application i dont find Samsung Notes to be useful. Thanks.

I know that Samsung Notes has incorporated a lot of S Note features. I am planning a full Samsung Notes video in the future too. But yes, S Note works! Just need to download and install the APK from that website

@Jai Shah Yes. The Note 9 was IMO the best phone Samsung had for YEARS! My wife & I both had one each & just upgraded to the S23 Ultra. Main reasons: Android 13 & OneUI 5.1, with guaranteed updates for both for another 4 years (Note 9 was DOA in that regard). Also, the camera is way, way better. Also 5G & WiFi 6. So many things. You did well on waiting so long, the S23 Ultra is IMO the one phone worthy of replacing the Note 9 to date. You will also enjoy the much, much better battery life!
On my S23U spen most of the time throws a message 'couldn't connect you spen" any tips on how to resolve?

When I tried to write the phone number and web address into the note that option didn't come up for me? Is there a setting I may have missed?
In samsung notes settings you'll need to turn on Action Icons! The icons only come up too once the note is saved and in reading view, not edit view
Do you hold the s-pen button whilst holding the button, do a gesture and then let go of the button?
And I keep getting "keep pen parallel to screen" what does that mean?
Yes you do hold the button. The parallel means that it's calibrated with the phone a certain way, if the gestures aren't parallel with the phone, it won't recognise the gesture to correctly. Effectively it just means have the phone orientation match how you perform the gesture.
Not sure whether I would subscribe for this topic . But your delivery of subject matter is quite good. But since it's tech subject better would be to illustrate and display all that is being said instead of simply giving plain lecture .

I think as life gets more more complicated and busy. We need phones that can do more like mini computers and I thought about this for a while, but Apple has no vested interest in making a phone that has multitask making a phone that can do everything because I want to sell you a tablet they want to sell your computer and I’m pretty much over Apple right now. I have brand new Apple products but I’m basically waiting for them to age out and die so I can switch to the Samsung ecosystem because at the end of the day it’s going to throw everything at this phone and make it incredible so that I can live in a work environment. ❤

If you can, go for it! It's not that much bigger to hold and certainly is an upgrade across the board!
However, if you are happy with your S21+, then it's still a capable smartphone

How to pin an already existing note to always on display ?
That isn't something that you can do as it's designed to work from the screen being off. Only a screen off memo can be pinned to AOD
Wouldn't it be cool if the s-pen can be used as a wireless microphone?
That wouldn't work. The S-pen has a very small battery already. An S-pen with a microphone would require a much larger battery which means a bigger pen which means a bigger silo which could compromise the battery size of the phone itself.
I don't see Samsung releasing an even larger, taller, wider Ultra phone in the future to accommodate a larger S-pen that has a larger battery with a built-in microphone.
Am I the only one reminded of deadpool when hearing the about the "S pen"?

I hope that Samsung Spen detects the text in any app and any picture.
Samsung Notes is great, but it's not available on non Samsung devices, so if I want to have access to a notes app across my phone, tablet, PC, work computer, I use Google Keep. The walled garden approach is why I'll never buy an Apple device, and why I left Samsung.
I had my s23 ultra for 2 days now and I think the s pen is pointless I only probably use it signing documents for work. I think I miss my s21 ultra too much. But time will tell 🙂
I have that same feeling everytime I use a foldable for 6 months inbetween S or Note launches..but I come back to an inbuilt S Pen and I feel so happy to have it in built. Give me that Fold with inbuilt S Pen lol
I upgraded from a base s20 the the s23 ultra and I really like it. I'm trying to find ways to use the pen since I paid for it... I've found some digital art apps that I'm trying to use as a means to learn digital art and a way to always have a sketch book on hand.
So far this is a great experience.

You actually can do it already! If you long press on the button while it's recording video, it will pause it!

If I really needed it missed the spen , I'd grab a note 10 plus. Done.
Had the 9 and all before it. But I was done as their software was BS stopping at 2 years. Hahah. They got better so we shall see. I have the almighty s22 base. It was free with free verizon unlimited line so I can't complain. However , my one plus 7t and 4xl both run a bit smoother and faster. That's insane.
I will say the SD 8 Gen 2 processor is scary capable. But the S Pen experience is very similar from Note10 onwards that's for sure!
@@techwithbenefits I have the s 22 base albeit still recent and although it has some heat and battery woes, it's decent. I didn't pay for it or the unlimited Verizon line but that truly softens the blow for my review. It's a great small phone (smaller?) Haha. You are right in my opinion. I have not tried the new 8 gen 2 or even the 8 plus gen 1 but I can attest to the quality of TSMC over Samsung foundry. Thankfully this is the third only I've used by Samsung foundry and they ruined the chip as far as what the chip could have been ...according to many , the TSMC built 8 gen 1 was nothing really added but used their process and gained such a number they dimed it the plus. Hahah. (I am not passing this on without a grain of salt). Anyway I'm sure you have used pixel 4xl and one plus 7t. And the s22. In my opinion based on my own 3 months of use .the 4xl and 7t both seem to perform as well if not slightly better in day to day tasks. Sadly they are both EOL. ROM only if updated. So I am again happy to have what I do. I agree I would MICH rather the s23. It fixed all the woes on 22 series. Great channel bro!!! Subbed
Just came out just got my s23ultra now they talk about s24 but I got a mouse case and camera protector glass and extra gorilla glass. So I wont drop it if I do I got 24 month insuranse 2 days I get a new. No problem i can lose it and drop it 2.50usd a month easy worth it
Definitely a long term investment that's worth protecting! It always happens...they start talking about next year early! Still around 11 months to go though!
