    The first thing I noticed when I drink kombucha for the first time was, I didn’t crave any sugar. And that is my biggest issue is I love my sweets, and I constantly was hungry and wanted something sweet all the time. But once I started drinking kombucha it took that craving away. I just thought I’d share that with you.

Or you can purchase a Scoby and learn how to make it yourself, which is a long process and time consuming.👌🏻

    I love kombucha. I brew my own, and sometimes buy flavors that are hard to make. But, besides the yeast and bacteria, the base kombucha has 3 ingredients: water, tea, and sugar. I don’t understand why people think there’s no sugar in it. Less than colas, perhaps, but it’s not sugar-free.

    I started drinking & making my own Kombucha due to inflammation & arthritis pain in my Joints, I had to have a left hip replacement (2022) due to cyst's growing out of the hip joint, which I found out this also happening in my right hip as well. First of all, I'm a very active woman in my fifties I have always exercised, ate right & during pandemic starting using weighs to build muscle...but my body was inflamed & hurt really bad. Doctors gave me anti inflammatory medications & it helped for a bit, but then started hurting my stomach & was making me sick & hurt worst. One day my daughter had me try Kombucha because I was sick & couldn't eat...It has changed my life, I also started eating only grass-fed, clean diet, good oils & fats, collagen & limit my food intake times. I not only feel better, but I no longer in chronic pain, loss some weight, healthier bowl movements, healed my stomach and my skin, hair are glowing, plus its helping my mind. People around me caught covid & I didn't catch it...I am now a Kombucha brewing queen!

    Thank you for this informative video.
    For your added awareness; natural Kombucha will self-carbonate as the culture releases carbon dioxide as it digests the sugar. It is also possible to brew it without any carbonation as the CO2 can be allowed to escape during digestion. Any company that uses a forced carbonation method is not honouring ancient techniques or paying attention to how the culture lives its cycle.
    With so much love! x x x

    I've never seen the Cayenne Cleanse one anywhere near me. I've settled on the ones that are a combination of ginger/lemon, mostly for the spicy aftertaste from the ginger and they seem to have less overall sugar than the more fruity flavored ones. I'm just thinking the ginger responds well to the fermenting process.
    Right now, the Health-Ade brands and the brand from Lidl (Solveta) are my go-to's.

    Doesn't all kombucha require added sugar? The SCOBY needs food for the fermentation process and black tea leaves don't contain any sugar themselves. That leaves me to wonder where the "natural" sugars she mentions in the video come from.

    • @dr.lindsaymarie
      @dr.lindsaymarie  11 місяців тому +4

      You are right. What I meant to say at the end was that there is LESS sugar due to the “natural” fermentation process and the Scoby consuming it. In general drinking kombucha with 15 or less grams of sugar is healthier than drinking soda with 30 to 40 grams of sugar. 😉

    • @dr.lindsaymarie
      @dr.lindsaymarie  Місяць тому +2

      Good question. I hope this helps:
      Kombucha is a fermented drink, so it can contain alcohol. However, it typically only has trace amounts and is considered nonalcoholic. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) considers kombucha nonalcoholic if it contains less than 0.5% alcohol.

    Hi, Doctor. I’m a newbie in kombucha drinking. Been hesitant for years to even try one. But today, I would like to try. However, I take maintenance daily. One (Levo…) for thyroid in the morning and one (…pril) for BP in the eve. I got the bloody orange-carrot-ginger flavor. My questions are:
    1. Do I need to finish off a whole bottle?
    2. How many hours should I let pass after taking med before drinking kombucha? Better yet, when’s the best time to drink this when you’re on maintenance daily? I heard long time ago that eating or consuming kombucha removes the efficacy of any medication.
    Thank you for your advice if you may.
    PS: I’M A NEW SUBSCRIBER OF YOUR CHANNEL.

    • @dr.lindsaymarie
      @dr.lindsaymarie  Рік тому +11

      Thanks for your questions! Due to its certain health benefits, kombucha can lower blood sugars, so it is best not to take with any diabetes medications or if you have low blood sugars. It is best to talk with your doctor if you are concerned about your other medications, although in general, it should not interact. Drinking kombucha in the morning on an empty stomach can provide better health benefits, but it can be consumed at any time. If you are new to kombucha, I don’t recommend drinking a whole bottle at first. Some people have had diarrhea from drinking an entire bottle when their body is not used to the probiotics and digestive enzymes. I usually just drink a few sips (sometimes more) a couple of times per day throughout the week and a whole bottle can last me 3 to 4 days. Hope this helps!

      @@dr.lindsaymarie Yey! That’s what I thought… b’coz I’m a newbie, stretching a bottle’s content for, perhaps, a week will do for me. So, it made sense now to me when you said you take a couple of sips or two… which I shall do then. Thanks!🤗 (PS: I hope it won’t interact, too with my other supplements (Nature Made Diabetes Health Pack for diabetics and pre-diabetics, CholestOff, Milk Thistle, and Ferrous Gluconate).😁 What can I say? Great video very informative one quick question as far as the sugar intake would u suggest a no added sugar kombucha or in your opinion it doesn’t really matter?

    • @dr.lindsaymarie
      @dr.lindsaymarie  4 місяці тому +1

      Great question! It really just depends on your goals and what other foods you consume throughout the day to keep your sugar intake low if that’s what you are trying to do. Otherwise like I mentioned in the video it still has less than half the amount of sugar as a can of soda. :)

      There is not many studies that prove it, but it does aid in digestion, and helps with bloating. It also keeps you fuller longer. It is an alternative tasty carbonated option to drink instead of high sugar sodas. I think when paired with a healthy diet and exercise, it can help. Others have reported it helped them lose weight. :)

      The studies come from the NIH on the NCCIH website. They do not reference kombucha but probiotics in general which kombucha contains. There are multiple ongoing studies on the gut Microbiome. It is complex because there is over 100 trillion microorganisms. To learn more on how probiotics impact a variety of health conditions check the NCCIH website.
