- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has unveiled an ambitious 10-year space programme, which includes sending a spacecraft to the moon by 2023 and launching Turkish astronauts into space. It comes as the United States, China and the new kid on the block - the UAE, successfully sent probes to the red planet. Will Turkey be able to join this elite club of space explorers and how will it achieve it?

The equator runs close to Somalia's 4th biggest city Kismayo. This city also has Somalia's 4th biggest deep water port after Mogadishu, Bosaso, and Berbera (yes still considered part of Somalia). Somalia's advantage is that rocket launches towards the East coast and onwards are more efficient and Somalia has no land borders to the east. This means Turkey doesn't need to worry about other nations getting angry over rockets flying over them. We also have Turkey's largest embassy in the world and their first and largest military training academy. I hope that Turkey does build their spaceport in Somalia.
Somalia is Turkish at this point. You are speaking the Turkish language and follow religion and culture values of Turkey. Maybe you should change name from Somalia to Afroturkey

Turkey could do more than build the rockets to get to Mars or another planet Turkey could build the first AI crew of builders, scientists, doctors etc for the ships.
AI/Robot builders will be needed maybe even the self replicating or that can make repairs and adjustments to the others when needed. AI/ robots could be used to build the necessary structures for human beings and maybe some small animals to live in as well as greenhouses and labs or maybe used to operate smaller laboratory type ships that can explore and study the planet(s) in greater detail.
I didnt think about this possibility. It would be really cool if someone could manage to do this

@@jakubklis6797 absolutely idiot, Somalia has the largest deep sea water port (Kismayo) which is situated in the equator and Indian ocean coast, meaning Turkey can transport their heavy equipment to Somalia through this port, build their base, and launch their rockets while saving a lot of money due to the location on the equator...tell me one other close ally of Turkey which is on the equator? Doesn't exist
On top of this, Somalia has no land borders to its east, meaning when rockets are launched into the somali sea, no neighbouring countries are there to complain of rockets going through their airspace
Turkey will build this spaceport in Somalia, spending over 1 billion dollars building it, Somalia 🇸🇴 will host it as we will benefit from having such a scientific facility in our land and in future once Somalia is stable and extracting its huge offshore oil and gas reserves, we will build our own spaceport next to the Turkish one, and work with the Turkish scientists to quickly learn and set up our own somali satellite and space exploration sector
