I'm pouring in a still air box. Can I leave the lids off the same way until the agar cools or will there be a risk of contamination? I don't have a flow hood.
@@julianliber4633 thank you for the quick reply. I don't have lab grade extract, do you think I could use a flocculant or a centrifugal process to clear the agar before sterilisation?
Don't assume that gloves and a lab coat means that the environment is sterile. We always use sterile hands that are washed and sprayed with 70% ethanol, and use a laminar flow hood to ensure that the agar remains uncontaminated. For culturing, these precautions are sufficient and we rarely have contamination. However, gloves and sometimes a lab coat should be used when working with nucleic acids.
2 Years late still a beautiful demonstration, Thanks a ton for the information and stay safe!
This is my first time to understand I failed and failed and failed all times to grow mushroom thanks a lot
Your technique is admirable. Crispyyyy
You should leave trash on table and avoid reaching off table. Great tech

You should keep the lids on in that case. There will be more condensation, but it's not a problem.
@@julianliber4633 thanks
If you say pipette'r one more time! Lol, it's just Pipette 👍🏻
How do you get your Agar so clear?
It's made with lab-grade malt extract, which has fewer particulates than food/brewing grade ME.

@@AlexA-zg7mq you might be able to filter with a fine grade mesh like a "superbag". The agar could also be causing the cloudiness.
Great video! Where do you get the automatic pipette attachment?
You can find them as serological pipettes and serological pipette controllers.
You gotta be kidding me!? No lab coat, no gloves, contamination all over the place...Where on earth do you work?
