I've matched my build to the ASUS 3070 Noctua edition, I run nine fans in my system, two of which are A14 PWMs. Can't wait for their new version. From what I've heard it's not as simple as scaling a 120 mm to a 140 mm size, that's why it was delayed.
Glad I caught this video. I was looking to buy the Noctua 140mm Chroma fans but stopped because it wasn't designed like the 120mm fan and I wondered why. Now I know. I just installed 4 Noctua NF-A12x25 fans on a 480 radiator and they performed the same as the Vardar F4-120ER fans, which are some really good fans, but the Noctuas did it wth less static pressure, less rpms, less power to run fans and they are much quieter. Noctua, please be sure to have a non-RGB version of the 140mm fan. I am not a RGB fan.
thank you, for your always very interesting but also highly informative videos. I really like your detailed graphics that are on point and your amazing close up shots from your products, that you always place at the right moment in a way that everything make sense. to me, personally you are the: "english, DerBauer". I know the new fans are supposedly coming out soon, but I picked up a set of these to replace all my case fans for 15 each new in box and I can't beat that. I don't feel like dropping 200 bucks on the newer 140 would be worth it for me.
Just got 2 of these for case exhaust. Ive been waiting for the next gen a14 but i dont think noctua will release anything until 2024 minimum. Its been working great for me and now i dont think ill be replacing them even if new a14s come out.
They are still great fans. Just replaced the front fans in my PC with these. My PC has never been quieter even though I replaced 2ea 120mm fans with 2ea 140mm Noctua NF-A14 fans. The older (Fractal Silent Series LL) 120mm fans have the same decibel level as the 140mm fans and that is why Noctua makes premium fans that hold up after a decade. Other fan companies are more worried about RGB instead of the performance.
With the NF-A12x25 being pretty much at the top of the chart while being fairly quiet, I keep wondering if it's worth it to sidegrade from 3x 360mm rads to 3x420mm rads. Perhaps if there were 140mm version of the NF-A12x25 that matches/improves on the performance/silence then it would be worth it.
Noctua NF-A14 ULN is the KING, i love that fan so much. It is only a 3-pin, but it is just perfect as an exhaust in any system. I am this very day building a new system Date: 17-02-2023 - And the great old 140mm ULN is with me again... Noctua rules!
Nice video as always. I have a Nf-15A hs ( basicly Nf-a14 hs). I will add one more fan to my case. First one will be exhaust other one will be inlet. Should I sell my noctua and get a pair of silent wings 140 hs or get another nf-15a hs?
Are the current NF A14 fans a good prospect for radiators? If so, and if Noctua delays the new fans for a year or more, I may be willing to buy them until the newer versions are released. I am currently using Vardar F3 140ER fans.
I have these and P14s. I tried both on an ALF II 280. The P14s push way more air than the A14s in radiator-level static pressure loads. It's unfortunate that there isn't a good database of P/Q curves. The biggest issue with the P14 is the sleeve bearing that is a ticking time bomb of noise.
When did manufacturers switch from screws to these push pins? I bought a 120 be quiet fan and it's incompatible with my computer case because of these plastic push pins. Can anyone give me some advice on what to get?
You can try to cut the protruding parts off the plastic pins, which might block the case cover to close properly. At least that's doable on the Noctua plastic push pins.
+\- 30cm I couldn’t give you the exact number because the machine that past reviews were made on doesn’t exist anymore. But all fans were measured equally
well its 2023 and still hasnt launched. so isnt going to happen. Also be aware that these make a strange humming at 800rpm and general whining! might replace them for 3x a12s
This Fans is not that good. I'v been using them, later I did change them to NB E-LOOP B 14-3 they are quieter and moves more air. Noctua A14 Noise to performance is absolutely garbage ( i used them as a case fans)
At this rate, we can expect their next gen LCP 140mm fans and next gen NH-D15 to get their chromax re-releases around the heat death of the universe.
That’s why they delay them.
They want to stuff them with RGB. Once the sun is out, it will actually make sense
Built a new pc this past Nov, used the Factal Torrent and a NH-UH12A. No RGB except for a bit on the MSI motherboard. A good clean build, no RGB.
There's no heat death of the universe and freemasons fake outer space. No proof, never has been and never will be. That one's for free.
you can ignore them if they are too proud of their colors

I've been using those from the original color to their chromax black version. They're my default 140 fans in all of my builds.
Man i cant wait for a new nh-d15 and fans in the u12a design language
Can only agree

Too bad nextgen Noctua 140mm fans are delayed again, until 2023 :(
Yeah, or 2024, 2025, who knows by now
When they finally release it, we're gonna wait another five years for the Chromax version 🤣
@@CarlosGomez-hg4qo oh crap, didn't think about that
Did you do a comparison between the NF-12x25 ??
Crazy that we just saw the new 140 last month now we just have to wait for mass production
Look at the Arctic P14, sure it's 3C behind but it's 1/3 of the price of a Noctua or BQ fan...

In retrospect I would have changed the end of the video. Back then I still believed to see an A14 Gen 2 in my lifetime
@@STSYT lol just might… our grand kids will be excited to hear about the 2nd gen a14s release date.
@@STSYT There's a gamers nexus interview with noctua that explains their delays and that they are pretty close ua-cam.com/video/82LZkglNiQ0/v-deo.html

still waiting... but glad you like our review!
I like quite a bit. I've used 2 of them since 2018 and they perform fantastic as intake fans.
October STS: "Next gen Noctua 140mm will come out before the end of 2022"
*November Noctua: "Maybe Q1 2023 at the earliest..."*
December STS: "Akward"
Pretty much sums up my feelings
When we got the fans, we put them at the top of the priority list because of next gen.
Was totally worth it.

Sure, I prefer the quickest version and a bit of control, but you do you!
new gen fans got delayed...
With all that factored in, Noctua expects its next-gen 140mm fans to launch sometime in Q4, 2023.
Yeah, somewhat like that. Or 2025. But considering why they delayed it, I can stand behind their decision.

unfortunately the supposed A14x25 has been delayed until Q4 2023

Still waiting
I wish they would make an NF-A14x38.
Meanwhile waiting at almost mid 2024 an no sings of the new version… just delays
What about silent wings pro 4 140mm
Nope, not the best fans overall. They have a static pressure issue. The 120s are pretty good though
