Just hit lvl 80 yesterday, but almost every day there are new things or hard choices in the game that can sometimes be a bit overwhelming and that remind you you don't know the half of it yet. I figured a good portion of that out through my time playing, but I didn't knew the requirements for the later level challenges and I only intended to farm those Dark Side character's ships later in the story... Thanks for being so clear and pointing us in the right direction!

Nice! I'm going to assume to get to top 50 you probably have an array of 5 star ships at the very minimum. Would be difficult getting there with the few ships you get at the very start at level 1 and with 1 star haha
as soon as i hit lv 60 (couple of weeks ago) i started climbing Fleet Ladder from rank 2000k+ to rank 2 pretty easy. I used simple ships like biggs, gs, tie fighter, ahsoka and cj. I usually get the payout between rank 2 or 10 if i got bad luck. Reaching rank 1 is impossible cause that player spent thousand of bucks since day 1, he's fleet power is actually double of mine at rank 2.
Been doing that fleet challenges for some time, but the drop rate.....man!!! I managed to get my Barris up and its sweet, after a month or so. Now working on Boba...Nice video AhnaldT101!!!
Completely agree with your point of view in respect of using fleet currency. I try to get to 2800 fleet currency before buying a zeta mat. That way I can be certain of buying a Tie Advanced X1 and a Chirrut shard drop. The chance of having both turn up (or Slave I or Scimitar) in under 24 hours is remote to non-existent.
Ahnald, gotta know, how do zeta formed? Seriously though, solid vid. One thing I would add is that for raising your roster, often one of the best places to spend Fleet tokens (after you have a decent fleet) is actually on gear and not zeta. If you can place in the top 200, you can buy 10 stun cuffs a day (or various other gear, such as MK 7 Shield Gens, or MK3 Holo emitters), which seriously speeds up raising toons past that gear 11 threshold. If your team is already maxed up, then the zeta is definitely the better purchase, but for those still trying to put together HAAT teams or build up their arena team, I'd highly recommend considering buying gear from the fleet. It can strip a week or more off of a tier without any crystal investment.
Very good point! I'm sure that is not bad advice too. I'm mainly just doing zeta mats because all the characters I'm gearing are side projects and not ones that I need right away so I take my time with farming gear. Great idea TacoMage. I noticed the gear in the Fleet Shop as well and my gear has been neglected probably because I've used too much energy on unlocking chars. Really, gear can make or break a char: Poe and Ahsoka, for instance, needs what lvl gear to be good?

nice job with video but i have still one question i am getting my vader zeta in 10 minutes i really grinded vader hard when i got my plan to zeta vader i had vader on 5 stars gear 5 level 50-60 power was something like under 4k but now i have vader at gear 10 level 85 power 8300 star level 6 should i buy vader shards from fleet store because vader is hard to 7star without fleet store

The drop rate for zeta mats is really bad. I suggest to do a hybrid-method. Getting zetas through buying with fleet-coins and the challenge. Note: Only suggested for players with good ships 5* or higher and good geared ship pilots. Also I would go this route if you purchased characters like Sun Fac, Rex or some other chars at 7* (and ofc their ships). Farm carefully and go for toons which have a ship. After you've done this and reach Rank 1-20 in fleet arena, then go for zetas to improve your arena teams and your crystal income. Summary (fleet coin spending route for newcomers): - Farm ships - Farm additional characters (+ship) - Farm gear if needed (gear XI required for strong ships) - Farm zetas Hope I could help :-)
Yep exactly! My strategy is similar as well after getting the 5 star ships with a few exceptions. Its so unfortunate that the drop rates are so bad for Zetas. Thank you for sharing your input and advice with everyone!
Gonna finish farming the fleet store for my first zeta (excluding the free one we got at year 2), then start focusing on ships to get that challenge taken care of
Yeah gotta love how to farm Slave 1 and Scimtar they both only appear in the SAME spot on the fleet store, and now the rate they show up is even lower because they threw vaders ship in the same spot too! And just for good measure they put the normal TIE fighter on it aswell! Sun Fac is just siting back laughing from his 4 different possible spots :/
The ship ability tier III which gives you zetas is much easier than ship currency tier III or trainingdroids tier III, so it's not that hard. Tarkin 5star is easy as well.
It takes too much time to get each team to gear 11. Thus I was wondering what level of gears do a char do decently in challenges, both mods and fleet? And maybe chip decent of protection for gw end nodes.
Its a tough question but generally getting characters to gear 9 will suffice for most challenges. Arena you really want to get as high as possible with your gear but gear 9 characters should be alright for other things in the game.
This is how i do: i farm zeta in the fleet store / 800 (some Times 1000) and farm ship shards from the galactic war store and later on im goona farm more ship shards from the fleet store (sorry for my English) and great video BTW
Make the Empire great again! Give the empire power that is immeasurable! Give us Thrawn, governor price, Admiral Piet, or Admiral Ozel rework Tarkin, Veers, snow trooper, and the stormtrooper! There are many fan favorites just do something! Also a Zelda for emperor palpatine would be nice I worked hard to get him and now Barris Offee is almost better with her ability, he should have UNLIMITED POWER!
I've got 20 zeta from ship challenges in 5 weeks. The drop rate is not that great or I am really unlucky. One day it rains like 4 out 4, but then it could be 2 days of challenges without a single zeta or even omega.
I really want to! Its on my to do list but I'm just lacking time to do more than 2-3 videos a week as of now. Plus I want them to be of the same quality as my character reviews which take a long time to make. I'll try and get one done soon. Once I do the first one the rest become easier to make.
Do you have any vids on the ship challenges? This would be very helpful, because I have been struggling to get these done.I had to refocus on my ships to get some 5* ships and now I have 6 of them and it has helped me get my 5* Rebel ship, but I haven't been able to complete the Tarkin or Mace challenges.

Yeah some days you have to make your sacrifices to the RNG gods on a daily basis or else they will look down upon you when you need Zeta mats haha Sending peace right back at ya!
Hey Ahnald, it's actually less than 50 days as you get some of the fleet tokens from the Daily activities as well. I still agree with you however that its not the best way to farm Zetas.
That math was just assuming you were only collecting fleet currency but you are right indeed! Didn't have the numbers at hand to do the exact calculation when factoring in the daily activities and I wanted to keep it simple.
I know for sure you get at least an extra 100 tokens per day, it might be 200 at most. Unfortunately, I can't look right now since I've already completed my activities for today. And good on you for keeping things simple! Last thing we need is to make it more complicated, even though its quick and easy math :) Great video as always.

Lol yea I do the same thing but usually save the fleet arena for late at night since my fleet is garbage compared to the 800 fleets that are better than mine but today I decided to do it first and now I can't give the answer when I would usually have it lol.

Hey Ahnald what team do you regularly use? You often showcase specific teams like the first order or thermal detonator characters but not your regular team that you mainly stick with. And at that, I've found that there should be variation in teams, like occasionally I switch the assassin with Kylo, or Maul with Sidious. Often Echo with fives. My team is Maul lead, (sometimes a Nihilus lead), Nihilus, Sith Assassin, Sith Trooper, and Echo. It gives out Offense down, Daze and has the two highest AoE moves in the game. The Sith trooper is a great tank when under a Nihilus lead, as he taunts, gets defense up and retribution, that way when he gets attacked, he attacks back and gains the health back
Yeah I never really talk too much about my team but I do show gameplay. The clip in this video with my Sith against a QGJ zeta team is what I use right now! Its actually Maul zeta lead, Nihilus, Vader, Palpatine, and Generalk Kenobi! Your team sounds pretty solid too. Echo might be the only oddball in there but I can see why you would use im. Maybe toss in B2 if you can in place of him.
I never thought about this until I played my alternate account... unless you are high enough level you don't even see that zeta materials are available in the game

I think you should keep Lumi at Padawan. Though she has been an integral stepping stone, easy to farm char for me (GW, arena) and she's my best healer (I don't have Barriss Offee)and I use her in the arena still, place: 200-500 bracket after about 7 months playing. She will probably be in the battle to unlock 6 and 7* Yoda as she did for the 5* battle. For me and my arena team: (Lando (L), STHan, QGJ, and GS) as a mostly F2P, she is a Knight. One, carefully placed Ability block can make the difference in a battle. Her Zeta could be better - need to drop the unique/new buff part. Just make it any buff.
I got so excited when I got 8 5 star ships for the zeta mat challenge, but have to beat the tarkin challenge first, and I only have 1 decent 5 star darkside ship. its taken me a long time just to get the ships i got (f2p) looks like another month before i can start farming.
I know a lot of people got tricked by that. They did not notice until the very end that they needed more dark side ships. Hopefully this video helps some people avoid that. I know I almost made the same mistake.

In arena currently run a rex lead with wiggs palp and zylo. I was wondering who to zeta next that would help my team. im debating between savage, and r2 or zeta qgj and running a Jedi team
In short - 2000 fleet store points is the only reliable way to farm zetas. Used this guide, farmed ships, got all ship challenges to 3 stars, doing all of them for 6 weeks, got only 3 zeta mats from ship challenges during all that time (3 out of 72 max possible) I'd already had like >20 zeta mats if I'd just bought them from fleet store instead of ships and crew. I think zetas require a fix: - make skill require not 20 but 2000 or items - make not 1 but 100 items from fleer store - make fleet challenge drop not 0-2 but 1-200 On the avg. for all server it'll be the same but it'd save players from damn gambling.
kylo is super strong right now, Tie fighter pilot is kind of a niche character that requires certain other characters for him to be useful such as shore trooper. I would go for kylo Ren
Rex's ship, Boba's ship, and Maul's ship are super rare in there. I'll go several days in a row without seeing any of them. They are good ships so they probably lowered the frequency when they show up.
do you think zeta jyn(for turn meter removal), bistan(for turnmeter removal), cassian andor(speed down), wiggs (damage) would work for rancor? mbistan and jyn can both remove 100% turn meter
Oh yeah you will definitely get far with that. My main concern is that you might not have enough turn meter removal because sometimes they might get resisted. For sure though you'll get millions of damage with that lineup!
ugh, i already made the mistake of farming the the zetas by just dumping my fleet arena tokens and it took so long that my ships fell behind and i dropped like 300 places in the fleet arena and i haven't been able to recover :(
This video was AMAZING! Any chance for an updated one? I just hit 82 and NEVER knew I needed to have 5 star Tarkin ship. So I have 1 empire ship that's 5 star only. I was focusing exclusively on Ackbar and light side ships. Now I'm stuck in a place where I can either buy zetas (already) or ship parts. Wish I'd known this info sooner
Does it change the odds of a zeta dropping of you either sum the challenge after 3 staring it or do you get better drop rates when you actually play it?
I appreciate that the devs want to entice players to be interested in fleet arena/challenges, but do you think there will ever be any way to farm zeta mats that doesn't involve ships? Some players like me don't take to the ship aspect of the game with much enthusiasm, and I feel like it's narrow minded of the devs to keep farming zetas exclusive to those who commit to the fleet and ships.
Man I'm doing the hard yards of getting my 1000 credits per day and saving to buy the zetas. You now have me thinking I should get the ship shards. I have 10 zeta mats now. Second guessing myself now.
He was in a pack and in tournament as this person mentioned but the gameplay you saw in the video was when EA let me use one of their pre-release builds.
AhnaldT101 good video, but i need little info from you, i having the challenge unlocked but cant beat it atm, working on ships and characters to improve fleet power, was wondering what your fleet power was when you first beat the challenge?
Yeah it took a few times to beat the challenge but I believe my fleet power was roughly 110k to 120k. All the ships I used were at least level 60. Having Biggs and Sun Fac helped out a ton. Having characters that taunt are pretty big in ships.

Its actually all of the above! The star count of your character, their gear, and the star count of the ships! I believe mods play a role too in that. Ahsoka has a really good ship. It messes up all my taunts in arena!
I currently have 4 darkside ships with 4* Executrix/4* Tarkin [gear6] lvl 58, 8.4k pwr: 5* Starfighter/5* GS [gear8] - lvl 73,11.1k pwr, 5* Starfighter/4* Sun Fac [g6] - lvl 73, 9.6k pwr 4* TIE Fighter (great dodging ship btw)/4* TFP [g7] -lvl 75, 10.3k pwr 4* TIE Fighter/2* FOTP [g6] - lvl 61, 8.1k pwr 68/80 for Slave 1 and 4/50 for Scimitar Once I unlock Boba Fett's (5* BF [g8] - already 6.2k pwr)ship to qualify, how difficult is the "5* Upgrade for GMT" battle? Will I make it or do I need to increase gear on Tarkin and/or who else? How difficult is the battle for "Ship Ability Materials" battle?
Update: about 10 days ago I won the battle to bring Executrix to 5* with about 80k total fleet power. I was extremely lucky with RNG, a missed reinforcement and would recommend: be persistent - keep trying and I increased 2 key ships, namely, (for)Sun Fac and Boba Fett(BF) in the following line up: Geno Sold Sun Fac TFP FOTP BF I also won my first (Zeta) Materials battle within the week with around 111k total fleet power, but I did not get a zeta drop in the win. I imagine it to be a long and consistent grind. I'll post that team if there is an interest. Good fortune to conquering the zeta frenzy!
Yep you have to click on their characters and see if they have it. As of now the main character overview page you see for your enemy does not show anything like that.
I'm struggling with Ship battles. Rarely win and always hover around rank 400. I have 135k fleet power with Wedge / Jedi Consular / Ahsoka at 6*. Biggs / Tie Fighter / Umbaran / FO Tie Fighter at 5*. Currently farming Scimitar (3*) as I just got Maul. Any tips?
Hm you got a good lineup going there and your fleet power is higher than mine. Who is your leader for fleet arena? I use Tarkin and his deadly ultimate attack has won me so many battles. I don't know how your lineup looks but I would make JC/Ahsoka/Biggs/TFP/ and Fives your starter characters and have maul and FOTP in your backup.

It really depends. If you are level 60 there is no immediate rush to farm ships. Once you start getting close to 80 that would be a great time to have your ships ready to start farming zeta mats. Would be great to be prepared when you hit level 82!

Grand Admiral Thrawn seems like a great character to hide behind a ship based raid. I'd also like to see Trench introduced into GoH as well.

If you are it Top 50 in ships you will get 1415 fleet tokend daily. That gives you 20 zeta in 29 days. Not shabby at all I would say

Also I would go this route if you purchased characters like Sun Fac, Rex or some other chars at 7* (and ofc their ships). Farm carefully and go for toons which have a ship. After you've done this and reach Rank 1-20 in fleet arena, then go for zetas to improve your arena teams and your crystal income.
Summary (fleet coin spending route for newcomers):
- Farm ships
- Farm additional characters (+ship)
- Farm gear if needed (gear XI required for strong ships)
- Farm zetas

Yep exactly! My strategy is similar as well after getting the 5 star ships with a few exceptions. Its so unfortunate that the drop rates are so bad for Zetas. Thank you for sharing your input and advice with everyone!

Yeah it is pretty sneaky how they did that. When ships first came out I didn't notice that for awhile.
Yeah gotta love how to farm Slave 1 and Scimtar they both only appear in the SAME spot on the fleet store, and now the rate they show up is even lower because they threw vaders ship in the same spot too! And just for good measure they put the normal TIE fighter on it aswell!

The ship ability tier III which gives you zetas is much easier than ship currency tier III or trainingdroids tier III, so it's not that hard. Tarkin 5star is easy as well.
It takes too much time to get each team to gear 11. Thus I was wondering what level of gears do a char do decently in challenges, both mods and fleet? And maybe chip decent of protection for gw end nodes.
Its a tough question but generally getting characters to gear 9 will suffice for most challenges. Arena you really want to get as high as possible with your gear but gear 9 characters should be alright for other things in the game.
This is how i do: i farm zeta in the fleet store / 800 (some Times 1000) and farm ship shards from the galactic war store and later on im goona farm more ship shards from the fleet store (sorry for my English) and great video BTW

I've got 20 zeta from ship challenges in 5 weeks. The drop rate is not that great or I am really unlucky. One day it rains like 4 out 4, but then it could be 2 days of challenges without a single zeta or even omega.

This would be very helpful, because I have been struggling to get these done.I had to refocus on my ships to get some 5* ships and now I have 6 of them and it has helped me get my 5* Rebel ship, but I haven't been able to complete the Tarkin or Mace challenges.

Hey Ahnald, it's actually less than 50 days as you get some of the fleet tokens from the Daily activities as well. I still agree with you however that its not the best way to farm Zetas.
That math was just assuming you were only collecting fleet currency but you are right indeed! Didn't have the numbers at hand to do the exact calculation when factoring in the daily activities and I wanted to keep it simple.
I know for sure you get at least an extra 100 tokens per day, it might be 200 at most. Unfortunately, I can't look right now since I've already completed my activities for today. And good on you for keeping things simple! Last thing we need is to make it more complicated, even though its quick and easy math :) Great video as always.

Lol yea I do the same thing but usually save the fleet arena for late at night since my fleet is garbage compared to the 800 fleets that are better than mine but today I decided to do it first and now I can't give the answer when I would usually have it lol.

Hey Ahnald what team do you regularly use? You often showcase specific teams like the first order or thermal detonator characters but not your regular team that you mainly stick with. And at that, I've found that there should be variation in teams, like occasionally I switch the assassin with Kylo, or Maul with Sidious. Often Echo with fives.
My team is Maul lead, (sometimes a Nihilus lead), Nihilus, Sith Assassin, Sith Trooper, and Echo.
It gives out Offense down, Daze and has the two highest AoE moves in the game. The Sith trooper is a great tank when under a Nihilus lead, as he taunts, gets defense up and retribution, that way when he gets attacked, he attacks back and gains the health back

Yeah I never really talk too much about my team but I do show gameplay. The clip in this video with my Sith against a QGJ zeta team is what I use right now! Its actually Maul zeta lead, Nihilus, Vader, Palpatine, and Generalk Kenobi! Your team sounds pretty solid too. Echo might be the only oddball in there but I can see why you would use im. Maybe toss in B2 if you can in place of him.

Glad you enjoyed it! I know my Luminara ranking was VERY controversial and hoping when things settle in the game I can review some random characters like Lumi.
I think you should keep Lumi at Padawan. Though she has been an integral stepping stone, easy to farm char for me (GW, arena) and she's my best healer (I don't have Barriss Offee)and I use her in the arena still, place: 200-500 bracket after about 7 months playing. She will probably be in the battle to unlock 6 and 7* Yoda as she did for the 5* battle. For me and my arena team: (Lando (L), STHan, QGJ, and GS) as a mostly F2P, she is a Knight. One, carefully placed Ability block can make the difference in a battle.
Her Zeta could be better - need to drop the unique/new buff part. Just make it any buff.
Who would you zeta first? I'm lvl 83 with toons at gear 10. Would you zeta? Kylo, maul, Vader, or Qui gon?

I got so excited when I got 8 5 star ships for the zeta mat challenge, but have to beat the tarkin challenge first, and I only have 1 decent 5 star darkside ship. its taken me a long time just to get the ships i got (f2p) looks like another month before i can start farming.

In short - 2000 fleet store points is the only reliable way to farm zetas.
Used this guide, farmed ships, got all ship challenges to 3 stars, doing all of them for 6 weeks, got only 3 zeta mats from ship challenges during all that time (3 out of 72 max possible)
I'd already had like >20 zeta mats if I'd just bought them from fleet store instead of ships and crew.
I think zetas require a fix:
- make skill require not 20 but 2000 or items
- make not 1 but 100 items from fleer store
- make fleet challenge drop not 0-2 but 1-200
On the avg. for all server it'll be the same but it'd save players from damn gambling.

kylo is super strong right now, Tie fighter pilot is kind of a niche character that requires certain other characters for him to be useful such as shore trooper. I would go for kylo Ren

Hmm, why do you use AOE debuff specials when the enemy team has tenacity up (green fist)? It gets resisted everytime. But good guide though.
Rex's ship and slave 1 never show up for me, is it just me or are they really rare?
Rex's ship, Boba's ship, and Maul's ship are super rare in there. I'll go several days in a row without seeing any of them. They are good ships so they probably lowered the frequency when they show up.

do you think zeta jyn(for turn meter removal), bistan(for turnmeter removal), cassian andor(speed down), wiggs (damage) would work for rancor? mbistan and jyn can both remove 100% turn meter

Oh yeah you will definitely get far with that. My main concern is that you might not have enough turn meter removal because sometimes they might get resisted. For sure though you'll get millions of damage with that lineup!

ugh, i already made the mistake of farming the the zetas by just dumping my fleet arena tokens and it took so long that my ships fell behind and i dropped like 300 places in the fleet arena and i haven't been able to recover :(

I appreciate that the devs want to entice players to be interested in fleet arena/challenges, but do you think there will ever be any way to farm zeta mats that doesn't involve ships? Some players like me don't take to the ship aspect of the game with much enthusiasm, and I feel like it's narrow minded of the devs to keep farming zetas exclusive to those who commit to the fleet and ships.
EA needs to give a zata mat reward for finishing the daily activities at Level 85. At least that will be 30 zata mats a month.
Man I'm doing the hard yards of getting my 1000 credits per day and saving to buy the zetas. You now have me thinking I should get the ship shards. I have 10 zeta mats now. Second guessing myself now.

Sam Boezwinkle It was a tournament reward, and there was a pack for a while. I don't know if the ship is available in the generic ship packs or not.
He was in a pack and in tournament as this person mentioned but the gameplay you saw in the video was when EA let me use one of their pre-release builds.
AhnaldT101 good video, but i need little info from you, i having the challenge unlocked but cant beat it atm, working on ships and characters to improve fleet power, was wondering what your fleet power was when you first beat the challenge?
Yeah it took a few times to beat the challenge but I believe my fleet power was roughly 110k to 120k. All the ships I used were at least level 60. Having Biggs and Sun Fac helped out a ton. Having characters that taunt are pretty big in ships.

Its actually all of the above! The star count of your character, their gear, and the star count of the ships! I believe mods play a role too in that. Ahsoka has a really good ship. It messes up all my taunts in arena!

I currently have 4 darkside ships with 4* Executrix/4* Tarkin [gear6] lvl 58, 8.4k pwr:

4* TIE Fighter (great dodging ship btw)/4* TFP [g7] -lvl 75, 10.3k pwr
4* TIE Fighter/2* FOTP [g6] - lvl 61, 8.1k pwr
68/80 for Slave 1 and 4/50 for Scimitar
Once I unlock Boba Fett's (5* BF [g8] - already 6.2k pwr)ship to qualify, how difficult is the "5* Upgrade for GMT" battle? Will I make it or do I need to increase gear on Tarkin and/or who else?

Update: about 10 days ago I won the battle to bring Executrix to 5* with about 80k total fleet power. I was extremely lucky with RNG, a missed reinforcement and would recommend: be persistent - keep trying and I increased 2 key ships, namely, (for)Sun Fac and Boba Fett(BF) in the following line up:
Geno Sold
Sun Fac
TFP
FOTP
BF
I also won my first (Zeta) Materials battle within the week with around 111k total fleet power, but I did not get a zeta drop in the win. I imagine it to be a long and consistent grind.

How can you see in arena if your next opponent has a zeta in their team? Is it indicated in the purple circle system?
Take Compier if you click on the character you can see if the ability is max and if you know if they have a zeta you could see it max
Yep you have to click on their characters and see if they have it. As of now the main character overview page you see for your enemy does not show anything like that.
I'm struggling with Ship battles. Rarely win and always hover around rank 400. I have 135k fleet power with Wedge / Jedi Consular / Ahsoka at 6*. Biggs / Tie Fighter / Umbaran / FO Tie Fighter at 5*. Currently farming Scimitar (3*) as I just got Maul. Any tips?
Hm you got a good lineup going there and your fleet power is higher than mine. Who is your leader for fleet arena? I use Tarkin and his deadly ultimate attack has won me so many battles. I don't know how your lineup looks but I would make JC/Ahsoka/Biggs/TFP/ and Fives your starter characters and have maul and FOTP in your backup.

It really depends. If you are level 60 there is no immediate rush to farm ships. Once you start getting close to 80 that would be a great time to have your ships ready to start farming zeta mats. Would be great to be prepared when you hit level 82!
