Thanks for choosing a wine from Washington State (I live here). I'm slightly partial to the Walla Walla Valley varietals, but Rieslings are pretty good all over the State. I can only drink whites and actually went to Canada last summer and brought back 10 cases of different whites (they're all EXTRAORDINARY up there). The Border customs guy was so taken aback when he looked in the trunk he was like, "So, how much wine DO you have?"

Light brown sugar is the color, not the calories. Dark brown sugar has more molasses in it. BTW, found this channel a month ago. Love it. Sometimes educational, sometimes entertaining. Good mix of both.

I think it might be a quicker way to substitute mirin is brand Ty-ku silver premium sake often sold by liquor stores and extra white sugar during the cooking/reducing (doesn't have to be ty-ku brand, but almost all stores carry unflavored sake). as for, the update to Walgreens bought items for teriyaki, and the reducing system is awesome because it's just perfect for extra flavors then store bought already bottled stuff. as always Thanks Again Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada.

I'm Italian and I sometimes make teriyaki with chinotto, it's an Italian soda made from the fruits of the myrtle- leaved orange tree.
It's not as sweet as Coca Cola, more of a bittersweet taste, so definitely more sugar if that's your taste, but i like it bitter sweet.

Depends on what do you mean by "Mexican" Coke is. Just get the Glass Bottle from a gas station. It's a big difference compared to a Coke in a Plastic bottle. Must be from the chemicals in the plastic that make it taste a bit different. Glass bottles always taste like "Mexican" Coke lol. Weird.

If you use all sugar Coca-cola (in the USA often sold as "Mexican Coke") instead of the mainstream HFCS version it will taste sweeter, plus reduce to a syrup better. Regular Coke loses some of its apparent sweetness after being boiled.

I went to a store recently in California that carried many many Asian products. It took me so long to get about 30 items, because everything in another language.
One thing that I could not find was the sake.
It was getting dark outside and I had taken away too long.
It took me 30 minutes just to find a miso paste, in the refrigerator section.
But I see the chef has selected a Riesling wine.
Is this the same as sake?
The next time I go to 88 ranch Market in California, it will be the first thing that I asked for.
I have drink sake and Japanese restaurants, and it taste more like a hard liquor without the same buzz.
It appears to be mild alcohol with a I-can't- describe-flavor, lol.
But I do enjoy its low alcohol content!
I can enjoy a sake and a dinner and drive home safely ❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🏜️🏜️
Please let me know if sake is the same thing as Riesling wine or if I can use the two interchangeably ❤️
I love the work that you two do.
Really really enjoy and appreciate all of your videos ❤️❤️

I live in Japan, here Teriyaki sauce is lighter in color light brown, not quite black, the use of soy sauce is always delicate, soy sauce is salty, put an equal volume gives a strong salty taste , not sweet at all ! I am not a Japanese chef but I advise to be careful with soy sauce and put less than half of other ingredients, If the taste is too strong, add water and reduce to a syrupy consistency.
