Nailed it guys. This is the album. Checkout his special concert at The Mecca of Country Music. That would be The Ryman Theater. Brought back original members for one night. Also, for a real treat give a reaction to the studio version of “Old Man.” 🤘
Check out the studio version of Old Man from this amazing Harvest album. A lot of reaction channels listen to the live version thst is out there. It's a good version, but the studio performance from is such a pure song it will be the one that ends up in your playlist as Neil Young's best song.
Neil Young was 25 years old at the time. Did you know he recorded 46 albums? FORTY ONE of those were on Warner/Reprise Records. That's a long haul for one artist on one label. During the 80's he did 5 records for Geffen. In the 60's he was in a band in Canada with a bass player who was dodging the draft from the U.S. his name is Rick James. Then he was in Buffalo Springfield and then joined Crosby, Stills and Nash. Quite the career.
Neil Young is one of those artists like say Bob Dylan or David Bowie whom you've either heard the name or seen the face and think you might know a couple of their songs, until you start digging around their catalog of music and realize they were a huge part of your personal soundtrack growing up.
Neil Young is an amazing guitar player, on acoustic he plays in open tunings which is something Joni Mitchell and Stephen still did but quite rare. He plays Martin acoustic guitars and he owns Hank Williams former 1930s Martin acoustic dreadnought.
Thanks for another brill video guys.Neil must be up there with the best .his body of work is immensely impressive ...so many dark sparkly hidden gems..you just got to poke around .lol..keep up the good work .Best wishes from Scotland .
Highly recommend his Crazy Horse work, best heard live. Its Powercord and intended distotion. Live Rust is a landmark album. Down by the River, Powderfinger are two cuts. His thier live concert in Comar, France on video is fabulous
I saw Neil Young live five times although one was at first Farm Aid in 1985. And in July 1983 saw him and CS&N…..just not together..same week….different dates/venue…different continents North America/ Europe
Ned from Spain again and a nice choice fellas. This was a big hit for Neil and this time used a group of studio players, two were Nashville legends, Ben Keith and the great Kenny Buttrey on drums. Buttrey brought a new sound and feel to the Nashvill sound. Tim Drummond on bass was A list for many top people. Jack Nitzsche on piano was involved in the pop scene for decades and also did orchestrations and soundtracks. A great album with many different sounds
Amazing album from Neil... backing vocals by Linda Rondstat and James Taylor!!! Neil has such a history and catalog you should.def jump into!! Love it thanks guys!!
Neil Young a brilliant songwriter and guitarist with a catalog of music I know you’ll appreciate! I suggest the socio / political “Ohio” about the shootings at Kent State University in the early 70’s and “Like a Hurricane” live
Nothing like listening to Neil at 6 in the morning going to play hockey in my dad's 52 Chevy listening to Chum AM in Toronto.Im 63 now, brings me back home for a wee bit.
Neil has been all over the place in his music library. Incidentally this was the first song I ever played in public at a coffee house. It took me a couple of tries to get the "I want to LIVE..." line just right, nervous and a forgiving audience. I like his My My, Hey Hey and Rockin' in the Free World.
Saw him in Tampa, 1973. This was his new album at the time. Linda Ronstadt opened for him and then sang backup for him during Neil's performance.. My favorite of his is probably Don't Let It Bring You Down off of Four Way Street..and Last Trip to Tulsa from his first album...
I always love this album. It came out when I was about 11 years old and when I was 12 I went to the country club for a dance and this was the first song I ever slowed danced with a girl too. Man I love this song! Thanks guys! Peace!
Hello Fellas , Neil Young is an old school no comprimise artist ,I think it was this album that he was playing the masters to a friend . it was recorded in a studio next to a lake, on the other side of the lake was a large barn, he set up speakers in the barn ( left ) and out side the studio ( right ) an sat in a row boat in the middle of the lake shouting "more barn" until he had a stereo balance to listen to it on the lake. After the Gold Rush is an amazing album too, all my best to you and yours from Liverpool
Not sure about the lead guitar but I heard a lot of harmonica in the song. If you want to hear some awesome lead guitar then Powder finger is a must to react to.
Another fantastic reaction to Mr. Young. Love this album on of my favorites from his solo work. Thank you for what you are doing for the AirPlay family.
“Heart of Gold” was the very first CD I ever bought, it was 1986 and I was 25 y/o. CD players were still relatively new in America and the selection of CDs in the stores were mostly classical. Bought my first CD player using layaway for $900.
Yes! Please let this be the start of a deeper dive into the Neal Young universe. So much great work, and so many subtle changes and development through the years.
So much to love about the instrumentation. Such as the way the drums are recorded. It's as if you're in the rehearsal room with the band. (PS, what you're calling the lead guitar is pedal steel.)
The song, which features backup vocals by James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt, is one of a series of soft acoustic pieces which were written partly as a result of a back injury.
Classic. Love Neil's entire song book. You may want to check his solo show at Massey Hall back in the 70s. Neil playing some of his classics for the first time..
Just put down my 17 year old Jack Russell and picked out the song from Neil long May you run. Even though it’s about his old car I think it fits for my doggy Mack rip
I'm on my second one, and he's 12 now. I feel your pain. Nothing quite like JRT's. They're in so many commercials and movies because they're so incredibly intelligent. Hope happiness returns to you soon.
So great to hear Neil Young anytime. Everybody has made their suggestions, here's mine: Cortez the Killer, Cinnamon Girl, Down By The River, Like A Hurricane, Walk On, Long May You Run. Thanks as always guys!
Neil is one of my favorites. I fell in love with his voice and his music when Harvest came out, the album this song is on. He's very different from album to album and he absolutely rocks his butt off in concert (with his band Crazy Horse) but can also be very quiet when he does acoustic.
When you're thinking about your life what it is now and what it could have been...........keeps me searching for a heart of gold.
Love this so much
Classic.
May I suggest the Live video of "Keep on Rocking in the Free World". He's amazing live.
Legendary 🔥 one of rocks finest…one of the emulated ones🫡🫡🫡 ..grunge before grunge ❤✌️
Nailed it guys. This is the album. Checkout his special concert at The Mecca of Country Music. That would be The Ryman Theater. Brought back original members for one night. Also, for a real treat give a reaction to the studio version of “Old Man.” 🤘
NY is a great writer! Love the Neil Young and Crazy Horse as well!
Check out the studio version of Old Man from this amazing Harvest album. A lot of reaction channels listen to the live version thst is out there. It's a good version, but the studio performance from is such a pure song it will be the one that ends up in your playlist as Neil Young's best song.
Great album!
Love some Neil Young. Check out For The Turnstiles. And I’m dying for part two of favorite Steely Dan songs.
Another whole album listen. 10 great tracks. Cheers ✌
The whole album 'Harvest' is a masterpiece.
He did ' Southern Man ' and pissed off Lynyrd Skynyrd , they wrote Sweet home Alabama in response .

I highly recommend Don't let it Bring You Down.
I love this! 😊
Neil just put his music back on Spotify and I’d forgot how awesome “Ohio” is. Give it a listen.
Epic!!!
Neil was in a band with Rick James from 1964-1967 called The Mynah Birds. 💚🤙🏼

This is Neil. Open the door and see the decades of music he has on offer. One of the greatest, glad you guys started it. Canadian son we are proud of.
Cinnamon Girl next! 👍🏾
EPICCCCCC GUYS!!! 😊THE WHOLE ALBUM ( HARVEST ) WAS! 👍
Big hit back in the day though I have liked many more songs much more like Southern Man, After The Goldrush, and many more!
Improbable as it may seem, it remains a solid classic.
"Everybody knows this is knowhere" should br the next record you do after Harvest
I saw Neil Young live five times although one was at first Farm Aid in 1985. And in July 1983 saw him and CS&N…..just not together..same week….different dates/venue…different continents North America/ Europe
If you said, " hey cweefy, play us the best Neil Young tune you know of, I'd immediately put Cortez The Killer on.
Ned from Spain again and a nice choice fellas. This was a big hit for Neil and this time used a group of studio players, two were Nashville legends, Ben Keith and the great Kenny Buttrey on drums. You can sure hear Linda Ronstadt singing background at the end there.
Amazing album from Neil... backing vocals by Linda Rondstat and James Taylor!!! Neil has such a history and catalog you should.def jump into!! Love it thanks guys!!
Two music Icons...!
Nope need his rock...too many wimps spoil the broth
Neil Young a brilliant songwriter and guitarist with a catalog of music I know you’ll appreciate! I suggest the socio / political “Ohio” about the shootings at Kent State University in the early 70’s and “Like a Hurricane” live
Pedal Steel guitar is stellar on this track. He has 2 bands he plays with. Crazy Horse are his Hard Rock buddies.
You have to check out Old Man next. It is crushing!
Try 'Cortez the Killer', 'Thrasher', 'Albequerqe', or for a softer one, 'Pochantas'. Cheers from Canada!
I'm a bass player. This dude (Who was it?) knows what he's doing on the bass!
You ned to do the unplugged live version with him doing both the acoustic guitar and harmonica at the same time in front of a small audience
Neil Young was born in Toronto. This would have been a good day to wear your Blue Jay or Raptors cap. 👍🇨🇦
Deep rabbit to explore. Excellent reaction fellas 👌
I think that the electric guitar that Che is mentioning is the pedal steel being played by Ben Keith.
Love that you guys don’t interrupt the flow of the song as do so many other reaction channels.
James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt are the backup singer as you hear on that song
Very beautiful song I remember it well, thanks
Nothing like listening to Neil at 6 in the morning going to play hockey in my dad's 52 Chevy listening to Chum AM in Toronto.Im 63 now, brings me back home for a wee bit.

Bad Company - Live for the Music
After the Goldrush, Sugar Mountain.
The late Nicolette Larson backing ...
I always love this album. It came out when I was about 11 years old and when I was 12 I went to the country club for a dance and this was the first song I ever slowed danced with a girl too. Man I love this song! Thanks guys! Peace!
Oldie but a Goodie 🤎
Thanks for triggering old memories. "And I'm getting old" sure applies NOW 😆👍🏼
72 here, I here ya.
Me too lol
And another one over here - where did the time go?
You and me both, brother...you can't be 20 on Sugar Mountain..though you think you're leaving there too soon...
@@cliffordwaterton3543It's incredible, isn't it?

Neil is a living legend. His library is almost endless. Nice reaction, gentlemen. ✔️ out Cortez The Killer.
I love how simple it is and yet it is so well put together. It just feels so good.
👍
Gentlemen, great review as always
This song was massive.
He was so young when he wrote this. He’s an old soul.
Not sure about the lead guitar but I heard a lot of harmonica in the song. If you want to hear some awesome lead guitar then
Powder finger is a must to react to.
Y’all are listening to poets today 🤘🤘
Three more amazing songs by Neil Young are "Old Man", "The Needle and the Damage Done", and "Cinnamon Girl".
Definitely, old man and cinnamon girl are two of my favorites of any artist.
RUNNING DRY.
Old man live version
Down by the River
You forgot “I believe in you”
Another fantastic reaction to Mr. Young. Love this album on of my favorites from his solo work. Thank you for what you are doing for the AirPlay family.
Johnny Cash recorded a great cover of this with John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on lead guitar. Definitely worth a listen.
“Heart of Gold” was the very first CD I ever bought, it was 1986 and I was 25 y/o. CD players were still relatively new in America and the selection of CDs in the stores were mostly classical. Bought my first CD player using layaway for $900.
You should have waited a few more years, my first CD player in 1989 was about 200 bucks. 😊😁
"Cortez the Killer" is a killer 👍🇬🇧
Check out the live version
The entire Harvest lp deserves a full listen. (BTW, did you catch Linda Ronstadt's voice in there?)
Neil young is somebody I’ve come to appreciate more as I’ve gotten older. Great song and I love his voice (Controversial stance 😂)
stance on what. ?
The only thing wrong with this song is that it's not long enough. It leaves me wanting more because it's just perfect
Neil can do it soft and easy or hard and edgy-it's always unique, and you know it, Neil. Thanks for the outstanding music and commentary.
You guys are VERY good. You appreciate good music and give pertinent opinions without dragging it out with irrelevant fluff. Gotta sub.
There are several reaction channels that I watch and these men seem to really know music well, very enjoyable to watch their analysis of the music 🎶.
everybody knows this is nowhere, down by the river, like a hurricane, pocahontas, powderfinger.must listens
Exactly too many wimps only ask for the top 40 garbage repeated over and over..
.
NEILS Best stuff is rock
Yes! Please let this be the start of a deeper dive into the Neal Young universe. So much great work, and so many subtle changes and development through the years.
Linda Ronstadt did backing vocals on this song
Old Man is my favorite on this album, but this was certainly the biggest hit.
Mine is Out on the weekend.
The man is a living legend.
So much to love about the instrumentation. Such as the way the drums are recorded. It's as if you're in the rehearsal room with the band. (PS, what you're calling the lead guitar is pedal steel.)
The Needle and the Damage Done
My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)
Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)
Menahan Street Band does a great cover of this
Linda Ronstadt on backing vocal
Man Neil Young's music is the bomb . He's such a talented writer & musician . Rabbit hole 🕳️ is well worth it 🔥
I saw Neil do an all solo acoustic set at the Cleveland Music Hall back in 1993, he played so many different instruments it made my mind melt.
Did you hear Linda Ronstadt on background vocals?
"Cortez the Killer" and/or "Powderfinger"
Just put down my 17 year old Jack Russell and picked out the song from Neil long May you run. Even though it’s about his old car I think it fits for my doggy Mack rip

The live performance in London is amazing. Just Neil and his guitar.
And his harmonica
Got to listen to Cowgirl in the sand
So great to hear Neil Young anytime. Everybody has made their suggestions, here's mine:
Cortez the Killer, Cinnamon Girl, Down By The River, Like A Hurricane, Walk On, Long May You Run.
Thanks as always guys!
Neil, Joni, Dylan and Cohen all icons and poets.
Neil is one of my favorites. I fell in love with his voice and his music when Harvest came out, the album this song is on. He's very different from album to album and he absolutely rocks his butt off in concert (with his band Crazy Horse) but can also be very quiet when he does acoustic.
Neil Young with Crazy Horse 🤘✌️
Great 70's folk Music 🎶 🎵 radio stations play list
Needle and the Damage done is the Neil Young tune y'all should check out
heartbreaking song that.
