    Hi Lisa. It's lovely to see your pottery videos again. I've been offline for 2 weeks, so I was excited to be able to watch one of my favourite potters. Love the mugs, and definitely, the black outline makes them pop.

    Lovely to see you Lisa, great video - black outline rocks, even though the flowers look lovely with your great use of colour - the outline is essential imho. I'm sorry you are having such a crappy year. Please tell Chris I look forward to a repeat Grinch performance at Christmas! I hope things are getting better for what remains of the year. Hugs, Jan❤

    I’m 2 months behind and trying to catch up with your videos so that I can be up-to-date. I appreciate you, and I appreciate all the information you give us. I’m glazing plates today with the Amoco snow and wow, I’m so glad you told me about oolytes! I haven’t used this glaze in a while, and I’m guessing it forms more 0OLYTES, as time goes on. But I think I got them all. Thanks to you! I still have more glazing to do tonight so I will be moving onto your next video. I’m praying for your hands and that you’ll be able to continue with your Pottery.

    Hello Lisa, love the green underglaze inside the mugs 😍 I won’t buy Amaco underglazes as they are ridiculously over priced, so I looked into another brand and found Speedball which seem nice

    Hi Lisa. Your dog and cats are the cutest. I am here to see your art and also your pets! Could you explain to me why you use a 15 min hold? What is the hold for anyway? Also, I am sorry about your loses this year, and best of luck in your shows!

    • @WildAcornsArtStudio
      @WildAcornsArtStudio  Місяць тому +1

      @MammaRoub Thank you! I use a 15 hold in the glaze firing, because it holds the top temperature of the kiln for 15 minutes, which allows the glaze extra time to heal over any pit marks (craters or holes) in the glaze caused from organic matter outgassing up through the glaze. The glazes can run during this 15 minute hold, so I'm usually pretty conservative when applying it. No more than three layers for me. 😀

    Lisa , do you wear hand braces at night ( carpal tunnel braces)? They keep your hands and wrists aligned so the inflammation goes down. I used to work in a library(lots of heavy books) the braces saved me.

      I used to many years ago when my hands started hurting, but they didn't seem to help that much. Maybe now that they're worse, I should try them again. My thumbs are the worse. Lisa~ do you have any suggestions how to transport bisqueware with painted underglaze that hasn’t been glazed fired yet without smearing it? Will it get damaged easily transporting in a car going to the studio for firing? do you have any suggestions on how to pack it? Thank you so much in advance! ❤

    • @WildAcornsArtStudio
      @WildAcornsArtStudio  3 місяці тому +1

      @MyMazyCat Funny you should ask this, because I have been trying different ways to transfer them myself lately, since I don't fire at home much anymore. Th3 best way I have come up with, is to wrap each piece in one of those plastic grocery bags you get from the store. The slippery-ness of the plastic will not rub off the underglaze. Then I stuff some rags or paper towels in between the pieces. I pack lightly, but not enough so that the pieces will move around too much. This has worked well for me. 😀
