White food coloring to prevent your candy apples from being translucent. You might want to try these candied sliced apples here - ua-cam.com/video/yhp7MBdAp7o/v-deo.htmlsi=dIPX4KCwva_iBi3H
This is an easy fix. You took your candy apple mixture off the stove too soon. You didn't let your candy cook to 300 degrees. You must let your candy get to a hard crack and that's by using a candy thermometer and letting your candy apple mixture reach 300 degrees and then take it off the stove. Do not stir while the candy is cooking. The best way you can fix this is having a candy thermometer and letting the candy reach 300 degrees. I hope this helps you.
I added white gel food coloring to the candy apple kit so my candy apples are not translucent. I don't want to see the green apple through the candy. I hope this helps you.

What is the white stuff? Also, could I slice my apples and then do and dry them? I can't eat regular candied apples anymore.

Hello! Our candy apples come out very sticky on the teeth, did we do them wrong or is that how the kit turns out?

Whew Chilllllleeeee! This is why I say it’s best to make your candy apples homemade vs. the kit.
