      Yes, I actually have a video on leftover candy using it as lollipops. Grapes don’t last long anyways. Make sure your house is cool before making candy apples and not humid because that can make your candy melt. If your house is humid to will need to place candy apples in the refrigerator right after dipping them.💕

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  9 місяців тому

      A few drops of each until you get the desired color. Dont use too much white because it will turn pink. Test your colors like this and try not to add over a teaspoon of each because too much gel food coloring makes your candy apples thick. - ua-cam.com/users/shortsRL-jiskFvuY?si=5nKVpwIxyCl12iPW

    Thank you so much for this video. I’m doing my first batch this weekend, and this video is very helpful. I do have a few questions. If I am adding flavored oil, when do I put that in? And do I still need to add the butter vanilla with it? Also with using the powdered syrup, should I refrigerate the apples?It’s extremely hot right now, and even with the air on it is humid.

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  4 місяці тому +1

      Hello, and thank you for the questions. Only use one flavoring, don’t use both. If it’s humid, make sure your kitchen is below 70 degrees. Personally I prefer 65 degrees. Do not dip your candy apples on or near the stove. Dip them on a kitchen counter. Bag them right away. Or if you are using the clear boxes, box them right away after dipping your candy apples. Yes, place them in the refrigerator right away whether you’re using liquid or powdered corn syrup because it’s humid. I hope this helps you.💕

    Hi I want to make sure I’m understanding I ordered white on Amazon because I don’t live anywhere near a hobby lobby. The brand I ordered was Chefmaster Bright White liquid white gel food coloring. Have you ever used this brand? Also, I’m adding this in order to get the bright red color on my apples correct? How many drops do I add and at what point do I add it to the mixture again?
    I’m so bummed I have to wait til next week to make my apples I won’t get my alcohol free butter vanilla “Gusteaus alcohol free , sugar free until Monday from Amazon! I’m wondering if Safeway (my closest store) would have a butter vanilla. Do you have any other recommendations for another brand or even flavour oil that would be good?
    I’m craving these darn apples lol ty again!!

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  Місяць тому +1

      Any brand gel food coloring is fine. The things I use are for my preference and suggest those because I’m 100% sure they work pretty good since I use them all the time. When you use white for your red candy apples to prevent your candy apples from being translucent, just make sure to use a few drops of white so you don’t get pink candy apples. I hope this helps. Oh, yeah you can use whatever flavoring you so desire. I try to stick with clear flavorings so it won’t turn my candy a different color than attempting because some flavorings have different color tints added.💕

      LOLLLLLLL! You don't have to wait on the butter vanilla...lol. You can use any flavoring you want. I just use clear flavorings to avoid my candy apples from turning the colors of the extract plus I love the classic butter vanilla. For an example: vanilla is usually brown and strawberry is red. What if I want to make white candy apples? Now I got to fool with these unwanted colors LOLLLLL! If it has alcohol in it, they say add the flavoring at the end instead of the beginning. Me personally, I add everything at the beginning and don't notice a difference...LOLLLLLLL!

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi! You didn’t follow my measurements or recipe, because you would’ve had perfect candy apples. You went wrong by not using light corn syrup. It sounds like your candy burned and seized up at the same time. Make sure your candy is on low-medium. Using a candy thermometer let your candy cook to 300 degrees. You will fail before you start if you don’t have a candy thermometer. Don’t stir your mixture while it’s cooking on the stove as this will cause your candy to seize. Once it hits the stove you don’t stir. You must use white to avoid translucent candy apples. I hope this helps you.💕

      I always add mine in the beginning when I mix my ingredients or else I will forget. You can also add it when your candy reaches 280 degrees while it's cooking but don't stir the candy apple mixture just wait until it reaches 300 degrees and take it off the stove before you stir it up. So stir ingredients at the beginning before putting on the stove and after your candy apple mixture reaches 300 degrees and take it off the stove to stir. I hope this help you.💕

    I saw another candy apple creator say you shouldn't cover the apple all the way up to the stick, because it doesn't allow space for the apple to seap, which it's gonna continue to do.
    Thus causing the apple candy to break down faster.
    I was wondering your thoughts on that??

    • @DIYQUEENDIVA
      @DIYQUEENDIVA  8 місяців тому

      I cover mine so it won’t break down faster. If it’s not covered it’s not cute either for candy apples. It can be confusing to make candy apples when you have conflicting information. Candy Apples are my thing.💕
