- Hi Everyone!
I’m sorry for not being able post anything! I’ve been working on this video, and trying to make sure it’s perfect for y’all! This video is hard for me to post because it’s something that I kept private for awhile. This is also something I don’t usually share, especially on social media. As I mentioned in the video, it’s not a complete day of what it usually looks like but it’s a good intro to what I do!
I’ve been thinking of maybe doing a part two, to maybe answering your questions? Let me know if that’s something you want!
I hope you guys enjoy this video, and know that it’s not a job for everyone! I really love what I do, and taking care of elders is something I fell in love with. It takes a lot of energy out of you, and it could be draining at times but I believe what I’m doing is something way more important.
Follow me on my socials!
Disclaimer: I don’t own this song :)
I suggest to watch my second video as well, if you want to of course! If I could record this video all over again, I would DEFINITELY do so lol. The angles were awful and the music was super loud 😭. Please forgive me! Thank you for giving me so much love and support with this video!
I would love too be a carer I love looking up for someone who really needs it .. I studied to be one ...but since I'm here in africa , Namibia a country that's still developing I mean its hard to get a Job here.. Plus I have no friend or family abroad.. Have two kids and i'm really struggling ..it seems like a joke but it not.. If 1 USD is = 15 Namibian dollars .. That's really hard ... But every day is a new day ... You doing a Wonderful job..
I like what you do keep me posted.
Thank you for all you do. It is sad when someone passes, but to do so not being alone, but with someone who respects you and who helps you every day happily, that's a beautiful thing. I'm sure the people who pass with this grand opportunity are happy. What is really sad is all the people in this world who live and die alone without the support they really need. We need more caring people like you. Would love to see some future tips videos on how to get into this kind of job opportunity, might help a lot of people
U are beautiful for caregiver
in which country are maam? and how much salary pf caregiver? I'm planning to study a caregiver when I get home and apply to other country. Im a sailor but I planning to be a caregiver
Any young people reading this and thinking about caregiving....RULE #1: Don't let your agency play you. They will try and give you the worst clients first that no one else wants. They will overwork you for minimal pay. Remember, you can decline working with any client. RULE #2: Don't let the client play you. They will play power games or manipulate you into being a chauffeur and doing extra stuff. They'll work you hard and degrade you and treat you like "the help." Always keep the upper hand and put your needs first. RULE #3: Patience. Just be patient and don't lose your cool. Find a way to release your frustration, but never in front of the client.
Thank you so much, is there anything else? Please and thank you once again
Steve DL
80 percent of these " Home Care Agencies" are a joke Haus. There needs to be a legalized special task force for HHC to put the hammer down on this industry. Abuse, theft, gaslighting/Emotional abuse is rampant in this field. (Handle that CONUNDRUM first) 70 percent of the hires are highly uneducated 5th grade lvl at most sit on the couch smell like weed (but yet passed the drug test) and face time instead of caring for the client and think that's normal. (Not all but 80 percent) These types are caring for our disabled? That is the reality period.
thank you
You sound so lazy wtf
Yep!
I currently got my first job in this type of field as a non-medical caregiver for the elderly. If I end up really liking it I think ima go to school to become a registered nurse
Yesss! Go for it!! 💗
How has your experience been so far
how ius it going for you ? do you like it ?
Did you like it after all?
You could also always become a CNA!! I get paid anywhere from 15-22 / hour, get paid for driving, and time 1/2 on OT!! I’m planning to become a RN but until then I love love loveee it!! (I also am a caregiver within clients homes, I just also help with medical stuff as well)
I just got hired as a caregiver and I start my training soon. Kinda nervous because I don’t see many other males doing this type of job. I love to help people and really want a job that is fulfilling.
How do I apply for this
Male caregiver here (one that got hit with it at 17 (recently turned 29) and kinda sorta had no choice but to do it despite some reluctance). The real reason you see few men as caregivers (or nurses) is because most men aren't wired for it and they aren't interested in it.
I want to work at this caregiver thats right behind my house and I was wondering if they require any certificate?
I'm a guy and I love caregiving. It's the only thing I've ever found passion in. I come for a legacy dynasty of caregivers as well. My entire family has done it. I've been working security currently, but once I get my foot surgery, I'm back on my feet and my helping my elderly.
I was working at a ltc facility for 14 months, I was the only male aide working there besides the agency that comes and goes. It was different but I enjoyed the work that I did and my co workers too.
Hey Beautiful, I discovered your page by looking up “caregiver” and here you are!!! I’m a caregiver as well, started when I was 18 y.o and currently working as a caregiver!!! Much love to us because we know the job can be hard mentally and physically.
Nice to meet you, just supported your channel and as we speak uploading a “caregiving video right now” lol
LifeofMs.Watson Hey love! I totally agree with you! It can be hard mentally and physically, but being able to take care of these men/women who have such great stories is so life touching. You will never forget the feeling of them feeling so grateful to have such a loving/caring caregiver.
It honestly teaches you so much! I’m proud of all caregivers, and their hard work! Keep it up pretty! Thank you for the support ☺️
Sabrina Garcia yesss like you find your angels watching over you and then you meet some. They teach you so many things
The same reason I’m here I like helping people maybe I can help people to make a way for myself
I just applied and pray I get this job I love taking care of people
Morsal Hamidi I will pray for you! Goodluck! 💗
Sabrina Garcia thank you love ❤️❤️
Aren’t they crazy in demand everywhere? Also I hope you found a good job by now ✌️
My sister is only 16 and she is studying to get the job to!
How much is the pay? Reasonable starting pay?
I just got a job as a caregiver and I start in two weeks. I’m so excited for this opportunity. Gets me one step closer to making the decision of whether or not I want to pursue a career as a hospice nurse.
You're a great lady for doing this kind of work. My Mom was in the hospital last year and it opened my eyes to what you guys do. It's very impressive and challenging. Keep it up.
Hi , I’m 17 and I plan on getting a job as a care giver pretty soon , I love to help people and I hope I enjoy it ☺️
I’m so happy for you! I truly hope you enjoy the experience, being a caregiver is going to teach you so much! 💗
Sameee !

💓💓I’ve been caregiving for about 3 years now and I can say it’s tough, but rewarding! I work in the home setting with special needs adults and children. I also wondered what it would be like working in a different environment!! Love your video ! 💓💓
Sound exciting
Thank you! It is tough, but I fully agree with you! I hope your doing well and staying safe during this pandemic ☺️💗
I work as a home caregiver now (on-call) it’s been a learning experience and most of the families are lovely generous people but I have this two stubborn clients (it’s double client so a man and his wife). They’ve been rude and made derogatory/racist remarks from the moment I’ve stepped foot in their home and it honestly takes so much patience and willpower. Aside from that the job is pretty good, I do wish they paid a bit more though.
I totally agree! Unfortunately there will always be that one resident or even residents who are very rude and cruel. At that point all you can do is just be patient, and maybe even try educating them (use your words carefully). The world they live in is completely different, but if they still don’t see that then there’s nothing you can do. Put on a smile, do your job, and treat them with kindness. God will know what you done for them 💗
I should leave nobody should have to put up with that.
I literally just quit my job caregiving today. I love my residents and what I do but trash management and families complaining took me
Over the edge. I wish anyone that does this kind of work the absolute best. We do a lot of work that goes unnoticed and I wish people were more grateful for what we did
I agree! I quit too. The clients and their families are a mess.
Yep. It's not as simple as "I love helping others". It is a very difficult job, many times and can be thankless and even harder than that. Yes there may be a resident or two who the caregiver really resonates with. But there are also many residents (or their families) or the management who aren't so nice. That's just the honest truth. It's not an easy job. If someone wants to be a caregiver, make sure it's a healthy environment.
I’m 18 and I’m a caregiver . I start on Monday and I’m super excited. I’ll be doing overnight shifts , I’ll be drinking some coffee too .
Can you let me know how it went? I just finished my training and my first day is soon and im super nervous
@@nicoler5216hello how did your first day went?
@@maki_sush6792 Hello! My first day went very well, i went to someones house for an overnight 8 hr shift (11pm-7am) and i just sat on the couch all night listening to the lady sleep and watching her on her baby monitor, at 6am she woke up so I took her to the restroom and i lifted her up from bed and then put her in her wheelchair and then when she was done using the bathroom i took her to her bed and changed her clothes and then went home. I was super nervous and i did struggle to lift her up and putting her clothes on, but you just have to be confident with it and dont be afraid to “grab” and “hold” her with a strong grip….
Also my clients daughter talked to me for about 20 mins when i got there about how to take care of her and what problems she had, so that was really helpful…
I am a live in caregiver as we speak since C-19 broke out. It’s so challenging I must say. I’m not getting paid for it. And I do not get a lot of sleep. I do it because, I needed to because, people weren’t stepping up. It’s truly the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. Today I went on a drive for a few hours while my loved one was sleeping. I was so happy to just go running errands. I want to scream when my loved one acts like a child. I work so hard & I am not sure they understand how hard I am working. When this person acts mean & rude. I politely diffuse the situation & stay in another spare room while they cool off.
flamencomagick I honestly know exactly how your feeling. Being a caregiver itself is hard, but going through this pandemic is even harder. Dealing with residents all day, and seeing them get upset because of family not being able to visit is awful. This also goes for myself! Not being able to simply go out, go to the gym, see family, or even go to the grocery store is insane. It’s truly something I never imagined to be going through. I haven’t gone out AT ALL since the beginning of March, but just recently I was allowed to do so while practicing social distancing. Let me tell you, it was the weirdest thing to experience! I pray to God that he keeps you and your family safe. Working a job like this, and not even getting paid for it is so amazing. Believe me when I tell you you’re going to be blessed! Stay safe! 💗 #staystrong
You are so mature for your age!! Professional caregiving I think is hard work. You have to care without going overboard at the expense of your emotional health. I learned by taking care of my mother but that was my mom. Kudos for you ...hope you are doing now what your heart desires😊
Not all people who need care isn’t old. I’m a caregiver for someone who’s 37 and I’m 19 thinking about being a live in caregiver. Just for future reference 😊
Thank you for letting me know, but I’m very aware of that already ☺️ I’m sorry if I made it seem that way! Before my boyfriend started working as a live in caregiver for elders, he was working with all kinds of people ranging from 18+. Thank you, and I’ll make sure to clarify that next time 😘
In what country are you working?
Judith Scriptinc California!
Sabrina Garcia thank you
Definitely not. I’m 19 & My first day is tomorrow & I’m taking care of a 20 year old sweet girl in her home :))
The agency in working for have people of all ages. Kids to elderly & you get to choose what age and what you’re comfortable doing.
the person who pairs you up w/ppl she really thinks me & the person would really work great together Bc we’re close in age :)
I just got hired as a caregiver! So happy and gonna begin my training soon.
Where did you apply at?
That’s amazing!! I hope youre doing well! I had their contact information, so I simply sent a message asking for an opening. It lead to a few phone calls, and an interview!
My mom passed away this February 2021 and it's very tough for me. I'm taking care of my lovely grandparents who are 90 years old and 86 years old. They both have underlying health conditions. My grandmother who is 86 years old has a Parkinson's Disease and has an UTI. My grandfather who is 90 years old has an asthma attack and has a hypertension. I love taking care of them because I love them. For me, as a caregiver for them, the hardest part is when they don't want to follow sometimes or when they get depressed. It requires a lot of patience and sacrifices. Caregiver is challenging lots of duties and responsiblities.
Everyday is a learning experience for me. Even though I'm a full time caregiver, I still have time for myself (meditate, work out, go to the doctor, dentist, and go out) I do this on my break and my 2 days off just to be healthy.
Thanks for this beautiful video. You are such an inspiration and a strong lady. God bless!🙂😇
God bless you 🙏🏽
im an 18 year old caregiver! i start tomorrow and this has been the most comforting reality check ty
how'd it go? i'm 17 & i start soon :))
@@h222ley hey! i left the profession all together, i now work with kindergartners with autism so, still sorta in the same realm. Good luck!
@@user-venusgemini if you don't mind me asking, why? that sounds great i'm so happy for you!! thanks
@@h222ley dont mind at all, honestly it was perfect except for the parents or guardians of the person i was caregiving for. im not one for family drama so i left it all together. also having to see causal abuse every day sorta drained the life out of me but ya know. anyways hope your experience will be better!! good luck, lmk.
Love this video💗 you explain it so well, I’ve been a 20yr old caregiver for about 4 months now for my lady, I don’t live in, but I come 5 days a week & do most things in the house since she is older and unable to do what she used to. Love your video💗
Part-Time Hippie Thank you! I really appreciate you saying all of this 🥺 Being a caregiver taught me so much, and I hope it’s doing the same for you! Again, thank you for loving the video!
im 18 and i just got my job, i start tomorrow and im rlly excited bcuz ive volunteered for this kind of job before, but i wanna be sure i can be the best for them so im watching these videos
i'm 17 & i'm trying out at an aged care home in a few days & if all goes well i'll be in a traineeship there & will work my way to be an EN, this video was very helpful

Leizel Cahilig I definitely agree with you, it’s not the easiest job BUT I do get the enjoyment/ happiness of being able to take care of elders! It’s definitely something I will never forget!
@@Sabbrriinnaag Yes it is . Your connection to them are so amazing ! Great feelings and moments you are making with them ! 🥰

My wife is a caregiver. I may be biased but I think women in these professions make the best wife's and mother's.
I’m currently a nursing student and I start my first caregiver job next week!
How much is your starting pay?

I'm currently studying Healthcare and did my placement in a rest home I'm 19 now and Hoping to have a full time job soon as a caregiver it's a tough job but also rewarding especially when you're helping someone maybe in the future I'll be a nurse idk lol HAHAHA

I would as well try to volunteer as a cargiver so you know what you will be doing because when I finished my school for it I went in without especting what its like in the field like the knowledge and the I person field are totally different so honestly just try to volunteer
Im 16years old and im excited to be a care giver❤️✨
Can you do video talking about how to properly wash them especially the more intimate areas I wouldn’t want to wash them an incorrect or uncomfortable way (obviously not showing them) but using drawings or a diagram to explain
qwerty Definitely! I’ll try to make a video about it soon! ☺️
I will be starting my first caregiver job, I'm a bit weirded out by giving another man a shower. I hope I don't offend anyone but would like some advice on this area.
Starting my first day as a caregiver tomorrow.. phew!!
Hey girl I was actually thinking about doing a video about this as well. I'm a caregiver as well and I am 19 😊🖐 thinking of going for phlebotomy.
yasmine 1996 hey love! That’s the direction I might take as well, but I’m not 100% sure yet! I was also thinking about being a med tech? And maybe just going up from there! There’s so many options 😭😭😭 You should totally do a video!
Im going in today to fill out my application. Please tell me what i should wear asap. I am so nervous.
I’m 19 too! My dads been wheelchair bound since I was 5 and I’ve been taking care of him too hopefully I can start a job in care hopefully next week what advice would you give to someone starting out? Thank you
Joker Awh I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m so glad to know your right by his side! I’m sure he appreciates you so much! I would say to have a lot of patience and be open to a lot of things. It’s a lot different when working with people you don’t know, so just always be kind and mindful of what they are possibly going through. Also, if you run into a resident who isn’t the nicest then don’t think about it too much! I’m sure in some way that they don’t mean it, but you’ll always have a resident that your not too excited to see. So just take it with a grain of salt and remind yourself of what your supposed to do. Finally, just have fun and enjoy your job! It’s very tiring and it’s a lot of work but I’m sure you will do just fine! 💗😊
Hi. Do you get to choose which type of person do you want to give care to? Or the agency will be the one to choose?
I started my other caregiver job yesterday I did pretty well for the first day of the client.
Great video on A day in the life of being a carer. At our law firm we have done over 100 videos to help kids with aging parents get advice from a legal standpoint. Would be great to collaborate on a future video.
I’m thinking about doing this and applying for full time night shift. Since college is starting for me on august idk if I should apply for a full time job or part time.
I’m thinking of going into this field but I have no idea how to get started. I already have experience caring for the elderly affected by dementia. Did you have to become a cna first? What agency/home do you work for?
I am young and a caregiver as well
I’m thinking about this job. What do you do if someone refuses to bathe or refuses to let you dress them?
Alexa Barragan that’s a great question, I’m glad you asked! So I try persuading them a little bit more, but if that still doesn’t work then unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about it. We then try calling family and discuss the situation with them. If family can’t solve the issue then I’ll call my boss, and from there we decide what options to take. It’s a process but having stubborn residents is very common. I usually don’t have an issue with that because I’m very close to the residents, and they trust everything I say to them. So it honestly just depends on who you are and how persuasive you can be. I would also like to add that speaking very carefully and kindly to them works well too! 😊
@@Sabbrriinnaag Thank you so much!!!
Smack em' around a lil bit show em who's boss....totally kidding sorry, cldn't resist ~ Emphasize caring by realizing the personal aspect and give the close personal touch in doing all u can together your patient becomes so relieved knows u care.. reassurances u are there to care in helping all u can is very personal imagine if it were my job caring for you as a young lady and providing you with a warm hot shower bathing dressing personal caregiving takes patience and understanding kindness and at times very personal being respected you become part of the family
This has been very educative girl . I searched on caregiver and immediately you popped up. This is exactly what I need to hear cos am currently running a training course on Caregiver and don't know what to expect and secondly Do you know any company currently recruiting. Hello from Africa
I’m about to become one officially it would be my first job out of retail! Do you guys think it’s a good choice?
did you end up working as a caregiver? i start tomorrow and im nervous. did you end up liking it?
@@micahramos5828 how was it? I start soon 😅
@@Stress_._Free it’s very tiring. depends on your patient, the harder ones for me are the ones that are unable to walk. They’re very heavy and after the first couple of days my body was in pain. But I say try it out, and if you don’t like it try going for a home care aide. You just assist them with cooking and cleaning up a bit of the house, taking them out for a walk.
@@micahramos5828 what about the pay 🧐
@@Stress_._Free depends where you are. the most hourly pay you’ll get is like 25-40. also try to apply at agencies more pay

My mom is a caregiver too !! Your so blessed. Have a good day bye! :)
Hello Lady God bless you for your passion, understanding, empathy and patience for thee aged shalom peace and keep it up.
Thank you for the insight! I was wondering what you think about care homes during this pandemic? I am a recent BSN graduate but I am looking for experience aside the hospitals.
In my opinion, since I work with only 6 residents it’s truly amazing. Especially with whoever is managing the homes, if they are doing their best to keep all homes, staff, and residents healthy/ safe then you won’t have to worry about the virus. For the last 9 months, I’ve been pretty much dedicating my life to work. Social distancing, wearing a mask, and staying healthy is what I’ve been prioritizing. There’s a lot of responsibility, and dedication for sure!
Thank you for your video! Really helpful!! I wanted to ask how do you report to your boss about your work? Is there any application? I am worried about the working hours. I heard they may not pay you if you didn’t confirm you’ve arrived on time…
I can't find nothing on internet related concerning caregivers in Thailand, the results are from Malaysia. Do you have a link to provide❓️
Hello am mark could help to find which company is offering this job
Did you have to take a pre employment drug test to be hired?
How much you getting paid & im starting soon but I was to afraid to ask how I’m getting paid per hour lol I live in Cali btw
Unfortunately the pay is different no matter where you go in California. Never be too afraid to ask that question love! At the end of the day you applied to get the job and they hired you, so try to ask as many questions as you can. They should never be judging you for asking :)

I want help others to fill my soul, when I help others I feel better, and the pay is good btw, but I don’t have any experience in the field
Well I started working as a caregiver with little to no experience. I trained as much as I can, and worked really hard to gain trust from my boss. I’m really young, so there was obviously a lot of eyes on me. I wanted to help others as well, and gain experience in the medical field. This definitely helped me! So hopefully you can find an opening that will do the same 💗

Katie Hallett oh wow! That must be tough, but I’m sure you get so much experience from it! Keep working hard, I’m proud of you! 💗
currently 16 and thinking about working at a senior center for summer. anyone have any tips or what to expect??
How old do you have to be to start volunteering at most care homes?
Sarah :D I’m not exactly sure, but depending on the home/ facility they would want you to be 18. That’s only my opinion! I could possibly be wrong, so definitely do some research and make a few calls!
I just got a job at a nursing home as a caregiver and I’m 17. I have no experience, they train u for everything

can a 17 yr old work as a caregiver?
I’m pretty sure a 17 yr old can’t work as a caregiver, but there is plenty of ways to volunteer! It’s a good way to learn, and maybe even get to know the staff! If they really like you, they might even offer you a job once you turn 18! ☺️

I have been struggling to be my mother's caregiver but I did not do a good job! She had been in and out of hospital and I'm guilty about it. What should I do? Do I need to be pretty to take care of her, I hope you pass some skill to me or bless me as my mother is a kidney patient! Waiting for your reply? Thanks! My helper is going back to her country soon and I'm worry that I cannot cope with the job as one of the new helper said she also worry so she didn't take up the job. So, what should I do? Our family are still waiting for a good helper.
Spectacular job ma'am! My question is, do you do activities with the residents personally?
Neurosize - Entertain the Brain Thank you! I really appreciate it, but yes! We do exercises every day with the residents. We do a variety of things to try and keep them healthy. From breathing exercises, theraband exercises, chair Zumba, etc ☺️
how do you juggle having a social life caregiving works well cause im in school but i been thinking bout becoming a live in can you have visitors can you still go out with freinds can you take vaction time off
It’s different now because of the pandemic, but before I was still able to have a comfortable life. It also depends on how much staff there is as well. If there’s not enough staff then getting extra time off might be a bit more complicated. You will always have 2 days off of course, especially if your working full time! During the pandemic, my life has definitely changed in so many ways. I don’t go out as much because I have a lot of responsibilities, and people rely on me to be healthy. Hopefully that makes sense!
How do I find a caregiver in my area if I should ever need one in the future ?

Is being a caregiver considered “experience” if you want to become a nurse?
Alyssa Reyes In my opinion, yes! I talk to a lot of my friends who are nurses, and they basically said I’m doing the same things as them. Of course there are certain things I’m not qualified to do, but it’s definitely a job that will give you some kind of insight when working in the medical field 💗

Hey Girl really enjoyed watching your video, personally I’ve been thinking of being a caregiver, was there any certifications you needed and what qualifications did you need to get hire?
Jessica Zepeda I appreciate it love! Thank you for watching! When I got the job, I honestly didn’t have much. Once you do get hired, they will require you to get your CPR/ First Aid training which is super easy! They will also ask you to do other trainings as well because it is definitely needed to work in a care home. One of the things that licensing looks for in a care home is that the caregivers have training on certain subjects! So I’m sure whoever you will be working for, will give you plenty of time to do that online and print out the certificates :)
How do you handle the food situation? What if they don’t like the food u give them?
Is it better to work in the facility or private home?
I’m a little curious where place are you assigned btw ? 🇺🇸 America?
Hello, I'm a filipino (from Philippines) and would like to try this kind of field. Do your company or agency sponsor visa and do they accept without exp? Thank you in advance.
how to apply ?i'm 18 years old....can i become a caregiver at the age of 18?
I start tomorrow and I’m also 19 🥺
How’s it going ?
I’m sure you already started, but I hope youre doing well! 💗
Any update? Are you still a care giver?
@@frankvasquez4983 yes, I’m still a caregiver! It’s been such a humbling experience! I 100% recommend this job for every pre nursing student. I have soo much down time and I use that time to study for my classes. My agency has a position for my at a nursing facility but it was just too many hours for me. I only stick to 30 hours.
Hello. I'm curious I want to be a care giver too and I'm currently 15 years old I'm just waiting for me to turn 18 years old, what are the needs or qualification to apply or to be an care giver?
Do you live there 24/7 or just when you’re working?
Elsie A Yes! I’m a live in caregiver, so that means I live and work at this care home. So I’m here all day and all night! 😊
Do i still need a degree to apply as a caregiver? Because i just graduated my senior high school.
yess you need it!
As a caregiver you don’t need a degree, but to become a CNA then you would have to go to school for that! 💗
I was a caregiver nothing rewarding about it, it is like customer service its just awful. never will do this again.
