there is so much natural reverb in that room that its literally impossible to hear a dry mix. i salute this brave soldier.
You ain’t lyin! It’s a slow office/studio build out process, so I’ll get there!
@@justinowens9476 In the same boat. I'm getting a ecm8000 omni microphone along with the new monitors i will be getting. One of my old krk rokits broke from the weird conductive shit they put in it. I have a new space, so i have to start from the ground up again. The mic is supposed to have a flat full frequency response, so it should help me calibrate the room (maybe use some pink noise and sine wave sweep sounds).
I heard the kali lp-6 and 8's are the new standard in budget monitors. Better than the old tech in the same price range. I might get them.
@@projectnemesi5950 I definitely recommend them! I bought the Kali Audio LP6's and I am amazed at how they sound compared to my old Rokit's.
@@justinowens9476 you just need some foam on the walls :)
my dog, google “DIY acoustic panels” - $150 and an evening of effort will probably improve your monitoring experience as much as those kalis
9:49 that expression of hearing the chorus.... I think you just tried to not cry!!!! A genuine producer....SUBSCRIBED! 😊
Ain’t that the truth haha thank you!
Enjoyed your video. Mine are on order. Can't wait
the worship music makes it even better! i’m getting these in a few weeks and i’m hyped!
Yes you have great energy and presentation👍✌️💯
I'm now getting these speakers!
Awesome! Thank you!
Bought the white pair as my first studio monitors and dont regret it at allll !!!! Amazing review ,video and songs bro
definitely going for this one!!!
I like how you added a label so I could properly tell you which drink to take off of your desk 😂
I love your energy man!
Guess what... I bought them too
Today is October 19th 2021. If you wait until next month to buy, the LP-6 wave 2 (updated version) will be coming out which have a lot of improvements. Just some insider information.
i have worked with those same fostex monitors for years and earlier today ordered a pair of lp6's ... i even more excited to get them now
2 years and I’m still happy! Also I still haven’t treated the room 🤣
Yes, they are great... the price makes them even better. I thought about the 8s, but I was moving from 5” driver I wasn’t sure how my room would handle a 6.5” speaker. I have a bit of flutter from an outside wall. The “sweetspot” is so, for a better word, tunes or focused. I would get a bit of furniture like a sofa and a rug to tame that delay/verb. Still, if you’re use to your room and work that sweetspot you’ll be cool. The room is only going to improve with treatment. Great choice.
I totally agree. I've added a couple of chairs recently and a rug, and that's helped with damping. I'm wanting to build some sound panels soon as well.
I am literally replacing the exact same pair of Fostex monitors that I've had 19 years, lol. Got a pair of Kali's on the way.
My man loving your energy, I’m about to cop them instead the KRK G4
Thanks David! Get em!
I just did the same and love it
Nice Video! Could I know if you would do more audio gear review? Looking forward to seeing that!
Possibly, yes! Anything in particular?
@@justinowens9476 Could I know if you are interested in wireless lavalier mic reviewing? May I have your email address pls?
Awesome song brotha!
Thank you!
And how much hiss are you getting from the tweeters? There are a bunch of videos about that on UTube
As a user of Lp6s. Can confirm
I just ordered a pair of these, Eric from Sweetwater recomended them to me!
Nice, they’ve been good to me so far!
@@justinowens9476 Awesome you a great quality channel as well!
@@danielburford1441 do you get any hiss?
Hi Justin was about to buy I loud micro monitors but saw your review of kali. Could you suggest which ones would be good for a home studio. Will be helpful thanks
These LP6s work just fine for home! They are pretty big on my desk too
You won''t believe what more details you will get out of them if you just eliminate those heavy reflections. Some selfmade basetraps, a bookshell as a diffusor and some foam absorber were the best investement I ever made in my home studio. Great monitors! Congrats!
I can’t wait! We have a lot of plans for filling out the office/studio space, decor and even sound damping!
how do you connect one with each other ?
Using an UAD Apollo twin and playing the audio on old Fostex speakers? 🤪🤣✔ Glad you got the Kali's they are incredible.
I know! They’ve definitely helped with production
lmaooo
Do you have any final examples of a mix done on these monitors? Im buying these and id love to hear how they have worked out for you.
Yep, i write and release worship music under "Saints Alive"
This song was mixed on those small fostex speakers, and some headphones: open.spotify.com/track/77rKGOWiHv4Hpu3dEqefPd?si=t4NwtI77Q-2GpLLCzgtQwg
And this one was mixed with the LP 6's open.spotify.com/track/1noFig22W7XHq4vfJApsSS?si=A4jjFzBpTISQNjvdXU7LgQ
I also have a new one coming out May 1. Hopefully my mixing has improved!
I feel the same way when i come out of the good will
How can i connect them to my pc ? Cuz
Im playing video games i wanna good sound flat frequency and im djing & producing too
Bruh - if you produce AND dj and you don’t know how to connect them then 🤣 - but through a pre amp / mixer my g
Hey man! Great video,
Can you please tell me if you're facing issues with the "hiss" sound coming out of these monitors?
Thank you! So far I have not had any issues with hiss noises
@@justinowens9476
Thanks for replying. Gonan go with these monitors now, have no other better options in this budget and size.
Yes... are the best when kali send u this monitor gratis
I would love a free set of monitors! Too bad these weren’t
Justin brother, I didn't mean they sent you free, I said in general. these monitors are the best only if free
1:13 What's the song?
The fostex were pmo.4?
It seems to me that the guys behind this company realised there was an opportunity to take an existing successful design from where they worked than had insane margin and realised they may as well slash the price and do all marketing through UA-cam music production personalities - seems to have worked.
Interesting perspective!
Seriously I died laughing at 10:03. Lol I don't even have monitors I have earphones and I need to upgrade. They are just so massive though wish they were just a little smaller.
Yea the 6s are big! Check out the Yamaha HS5, those are somewhat smaller
Presounus has smaller ones. Ive never used Presonus though, check em out. Recording is a whole other ball game.
Do they have noise / hiss when they are not playing anything?
So far no noise, and it's been well over a year.
What about hiss noise they fix it or not?
2 years in and still no hiss ✌🏻
Hey look you just reached 501 😊🤣🤘🏻
Yes sir!
Are these 6inch monitors better than krk rookit 5?
I’m honestly not sure as I’ve never used them. I will say a lot of the smaller home studios I’ve been in and seen on socials media use those!
Check out this review of the krk rookit
ua-cam.com/video/w7SnBgXD2UI/v-deo.html
I owned a pair of rockit RP5s for about 7 or 8 years. I just replaced them with the Kali audio LP6's about 2 months ago. These blow the RP5's out of the water. You cannot find a better pair of studio monitors in this price range in my opinion.
never used them. these are 6.5 inch i think but most of audio dudes on yt say that these are blowing out of the water double the cost speakers.but remember they are nearfields..that means mostly used in small private studios and not so much in pro studios
Daniel Lovrich from what I’ve heard that’s not an entirely true statement. But not also false. I wouldn’t say kali is becoming a standard to professionals but maybe a standard in the range for pros on a budget ; for sure. So they CAN hold a flame to what’s expensive and that’s why I’m personally opting for them. Wishing everyone all the best ! ✌️❤️🎼👌
The new version of the LP6's has no "stand-by mode" anymore.
there is a new version ?? i return them 2 years ago because standby and "hssss" sound when no music playing ..... it's better now ? thanks.
2:58 hahahahahahh 😂
Now you need the same amount to treat your room. Cheers
are those also 3-way monitors , and how much did u pay for a pair
No I believe these are 2-way
You mean kali in8s
I didn’t follow the first time setup, is this an issue?
Not sure I understand your question
@@justinowens9476 so when I had installed my monitors, I just plugged them in and started blasting music. And if the music was loud enough, the monitors would stop playing the music
It wasn’t until I had seen the instruction manual, that there was a “first time setup” page.
I’m wondering if me not following any of that, hurt the speakers
Ohhhh I understand, thank you for clarifying. Man that’s unfortunate! I would think they would be okay though. Just run them through the proper setup and give them a try again.
buying these instead of yamahas hs7
I wanted to get the 7s as well. Price sold me on these
Nice video.. U need to work on your room acoustics..
2 words, bro .... Room Treatment
Sweet Tea. I likely story
I’ve heard they have an awful self noise. How bad is it?
Me too. I’ve literally heard zero noise while using them
It's there shitty equipment there plugging these to not the speakers themselves. I heard alot of people say the presonus e 3.5 had some self noise but when I bought them and plugged them in I turned the volume knob all the way up and didnt hear shit no noise at all so I'm guessing the people saying this, it has something to do with there interface, wires and cords etc I doubt it's the speakers themselves
Charles Glenn Same here, use a quality interface with quality cables. I haven’t had a single problem with the Erie 3.5 but thinking about grabbing these klp6.
@@fatwalletoobe792 hmmm..... nono I have HS7 and RP5 here with zero hsss sound when no sound playing. I tried the LP6 2 years ago and return them for it ....
when I just turn on the LP6 i had hsss sound. no cable in the speaker. When I take my other speakers, zero sound. I have heard there is a new version of the LP6 ?
maybe its a little better now, i dont know .......
Thanks for the review definitely buying these. God bless and Praise the living Jesus!
That’s awesome, these are great monitors!
Why would you even have a higher end pro interface with such monitors, the old ones i mean?
Had those monitors since 2012, and upgraded the interface a couple of years ago. Just slow upgrades over time
@@justinowens9476 yeah I get it
Spend some money on room acoustic.
👌🏻
I go t these...way too quiet. sending back.
Treat that room for fuck sake!
Ok?
@@justinowens9476 haha sorry that sounded so angry didn't it? Do what you want with that room for f sake lol
Ok! 😃 lol
