I have no clue how anyone can listen to the HS5's for more than 5 seconds
Lol they are very fatiguing but are still solid monitors.
Not really for "listening"... They hold a microscope to the mids and highs for monitoring...

@@DWHarper62 i tried the hs5. After 2min i have ear fatigue. I dont have that with my HS7.
@ChrisBessy HS7 gives me ear fatigue too...
On the Yamahas the bass groove disappeared and mids came forward.
If you want to enjoy the music just get the Kali. if you want your mixes to translate get the yamaha
Yamahas are good they just roll off at 100hz so its hard to use them as primary monitors. As secondary's they work
Got ear fatigue from listening to the Yamahas from this video let alone live in person… I was considering lp unf for playing digital piano through, or maybe in5’s but considering how close the speakers will be to my piano and myself I don’t think I need more than the lp unf, I’d like them to be nice and musical too for listening to music on also, enjoyment wise, do you think they’re suitable for this?
Yeah the lp unfs are perfect for that
and the winners are Kali, so close to the original song, listening from adam audio a77v, beyerdynamic 1770 and sennheiser 490, we think kali audio are the best budget friendly speakers in the market! and no speakers available can beat them in this price range. thank you for the great video

Nice beat and comparison. Front ports really make the difference but even if the hs5 had front ports I bet the Kali would still be more enjoyable.

Are both these speakers "musical"? Not just monitors, but good listening speakers for jazz or classical music?
For desk top yeah but I wouldnt put them up in your living room.

This is a great comparison, well done. Do you do anything to the mix while editing the video to deal with youtubes compression? In my experience, when I get done editing a video on my local machine, it sounds great. Then I upload to youtube and lose all dynamic range... I have resorted to linking directly to a onedrive folder with the video for certain customers.
Thank you sir, I dont do anything after. I just Gain match everything. UA-cam defiantly changes the quality. I figured people are gonna listen through there Iphone speaker any way lol
Listening tests like this are useless because no matter what speakers you are using they are ultimately coming through whatever random speakers the end listeners are using not to mention UA-cams audio.
Yes they are mostly, unless you already own the yamahas and just want to compare the difference

HS5 sounds much different than the original. Kali is much closer to that.
