Hello all! I just want to confirm that this DOES work on the 3DS VC of Gold/Silver. After several tries, I finally got it working and 'caught' myself a Zapdos! Remember, if the game resets in funny colours when you use the coin case, the Pokemon in slot 3 has DVs that are too high. If the game freezes, go back and check your items in your box. For the 'anything' slot, I only put ONE of an item. This stopped the game freezing when I used the coin case.
Yeah works great but when I tried to fix my mewtwo stats in the daycare its level raised by 254 and there no way of paying it out cuz the money got glitched 😂😂😂
Perhaps try redoing the bug catching contest legitimately and try it again. I've noticed that every Pokemon I've obtained with this method (including Mewtwo) have the same level and moves as the Pinsir I caught during the contest at the start of the game. Sometimes the Pokemon go up by three levels in the day care, other times there are no problems with the exp at all.
To answer your questions about the kanto starters, I did some playing around and I found that its not the maximum amount of hp the pokemon has its the amount of hp it has remaining so if you get it hurt then it will change, also if you use a pokemon that has more than 251 HP then it loops around, if it has 252 hp because it has more health than amount of pokemon in the pokedex it loops round so it would be bulbasaur. Edit: whilst doing it i found that there are a lot of missingno you get before actual pokemon. When I figure it out ill re edit this and add the numbers you would need for the kanto starters. Edit 2: i did the math and for bulbasaur you need a pokemon with hp at 257, charmander is 260 and squirtle is 263. If you want the second or third evolutions of these pokemon add 1 for the second and 2 for the third.
Did you do it exactly how he did in the video? I did and it's not working. Different low level pokemon results in different glitches, but I never get mew.
If you're doing this for a Celebi, make sure you haven't entered the bug catching contest before so you can get a level 0 Celebi with Recover, Heal bell and Leech Seed. If you've already entered the contest the Celebi you get won't have those moves and there's no way to relearn moves in Gold and Silver.
I glitched myself an Articuno on VC this way. When I brought it to the daycare to fix its EXP (it had a completely filled EXP meter and some other weird numbers), the daycare man told me my articuno grew 255 levels and asked to pay a glitched sum (that I apparently didn't have). I reset and decided to take matters into my own hands and level it to see what happens. What happened was that it grew to lvl 255, then cycled to 13 (it was lv 14 when i first got it), then learned all moves on its moveset list at once, for some reason starting from Agility and ending with Powder Snow. Anyway, fun glitch, I feel like I just had a weird dream
5:00 I believe it is remaining HP. so get a pokemon poisoned, walk around till its at the desired low HP then use a antidote for the exact low HP you want.

A nearly perfect glitch tutorial althought I observed some things while doing this, I am not sure if you said those in your video: 1) The pokemon will not get registered in your pokedex. That makes it unable to register legendaries and pokemon that evolve when traded that way, for rest of the pokemon, I guess you can breed them and register/evolve the egg. 2) The pokemon that will appear in you 6th party slot is NOT dependant of the FULL hp of the 5th pokemon, but only the temporar HP, that makes it possible to get any pokemon if you damage it enough and not heal it before doing the glitch. If anyone finds a way on how to register the pokemon i caught via the glitch, please tell me, would be a great help.

According to an earlier comment, it works based off the amount of HP the Pokemon currently has, so just try to get a Pokemons down to 4HP and it should work :)

ok so a quick info, celebi is 251, it can go to pokebank just make sure it doesn't have any move from the bug catching pokemon and celebi must be level 30+, it wil show that was a fateful encounter and will have 5 perfect ivs, the move deleter is at blacktorn city
That's correct, to others wondering you can now use the Celebi obtained from this method and transfer it to Poke Bank, you do not need Crystal for Celebi.
So I tried this on the 3ds eshop gold version. Whenever I do the glitch, after using the coin case the game resets with a glitching palette. The only major things different (apart from dummy pokemon - 2 female lvl 3 hoothoots and a lvl 2 male rattata) is my quagsire is lvl 20 and my coin case has 38 coins in it. Any ideas why this happens?
The glitching palette means that the Pokemon's DVs (in slot 3) are too high. I had this issue and just by luck, a level 2 Sentret did the trick for me.
Does anyone know if the coins case Pokemon can have held items (for example, Chansey with lucky egg)? Also, to get Kanto starters you just need to take damage in battle until your remaining health is the Pokedex number of the Pokemon you want to catch. 1/251 hp will get you Bulbasaur

You can if you change the OT and ID of said Mew, I have a video on it, and shinies from Gen 1 can be transferred, so would these, all you're changing is the DV values.
I've done exactly what you've said, for the anythings i assumed it could be any item (tm or item) in any amount.. but all i get when i follow the instructions is the same you always get when you listen to a cry and use the coincase.. the game resets with weird colors. (i did it on pokemon gold by the way)

it worked i got a mew level 1 gave it less exp then it needed to go to 2 so it grew to level 100.. thanks doesn't get registered by pokedex unfortunately and i have nothing to trade with so that won't work either.. so this way i can get all pokemon registered except for gen1 legendaries and pokemon that evolve through trading. Hmm, I seem to keep getting kakuna and weedle, does doing this on a day when you entered the bug contest/can enter it force you to get bug pokemon only? I did it 3 times at 251 hp, 252 hp, and 293 hp and got kakuna, weedle, and weedle for all those
@@thunderthepikachu150 I could see that being the case past 255 because that seemed to be the hard coded max number in the Gameboy games. In gen 1 you could level a post lvl 100 (acquired through missingno glitch) pokemon up to 255 and then one more rare candy would flip it over to zero. But hypothetically speaking there would be 252 to 255 that could be glitched pokemon/bad eggs
Hi man, it seems that the coin case is bugged on VBA (it says "which move?PP of" since the beginning). I then tried it on "KiGB" emulator (the one you are using i think) but there is no way i can load your ".sav" file :( . i can't even use a "state save" from VBA to read from kigb. Hi, having hard time to make it work. Im using several hoothoot lvl3 has third pkmn but the glitch won't trigger. I have sorted the items correctly (only the "anything" items are different, quantity x1). Should I keep trying with other weak pokemon on slot 3?
Every pokemon I glitched In gold and silver, including Mew and Celebi, were transferable to Sun and Moon. I used the shiny glitch on them too. No problems.
Ez way to get this. Get a mewtwo or a mew to level 100 or mons with level 100 with more than 251 hp get poisoned from a random tentacool get some pot or berries adjust the hp by run around or just drop the hp below 251 and run random and get random mons every time (best way to have fun XD) if you exact calculate you can even get the kanto starter s

Yes you can, Mew will need to have an OT/ID that matched the Event in order to be transferred, there are videos there for the Gen 2 games on how to do it, I only made one for the Gen 1 game.

When I do this glitch it takes me to the bug catching contest and all this but it says "Glitch has caught a ???????" And gives me a sun stone, then I look in my party and there is no 6th slot pokemon there, the 5th slot pokemon had 83 HP and I had the 2 dummy pokemon, sleep talk quagsire and all that. Is it giving me the "???????" Because I don't have the pokemon registered into my pokedex or something?
I tried this and right after using the coin case the game reset and my color pallete was different. I get to the menu and it says my save file is corrupted. I've tried turning off my 3DS and on but nothing works is there a fix?
TheWolfsHD Nah man, there's a coin case glitch where you can get x49 of each TM. All it requires is the setup Quagsire (Return as first move and holding TM02 Headbutt), low DV pokemon, and renaming your PC boxes.

Use a different low level pokemon, if after say 20+ it doesn't work try substituting the Stick item with the others in the list or vice-versa. No reason why it wouldn't work anymore as the game is the same as the retail versions and they have never been updated.
Does the pokedex recognize that you've seen and caught the pokemon? also you basically need to finish the game before you can do this right?.. since you need tm22 and tm06.

Entei is 244 and Raikou is 245 but dont try it. I tried and they didnt register in my Pokédex. Also since you didnt mention Suicune Im assuming your playing Crystal. This glitch doesnt work with silver.
Is there any explanation as to why I get different Pokémon than the hp. At 251 I get Celebi as intended but at 249 I get Lugia instead of mewtwo and at 245 I get suicune instead of dragonite? Am I doing something wrong?

Just tested it out, and with the Crobat getting hit to 149 HP I received a Dragonite! :) so it's based off Current HP and not Max, so it can basically be any Pokemon then.
Did this on my gold cartridge and it WORKED. Had a crystal and silver spare and traded the items I needed. Q: if I do the glitch and I tested and got an Omanyte at level 1 will it register on my Dex or not until it’s level 5? It’s not registering. PSS: the trainer number is 000000. Every time I try to transfer my shiny 3 legendary birds and mewtwo a message pops up in bank basically say that there’s a problem with the pokemon I’m transferring. All of them are below lvl 20
I did this glitch and the glitch where you can get all 3 starters in the beginning of the game. When I reached the Trainer House in Viridian City, Kanto, this location battle is glitched. The trainer sent out a level 0 Primeape. Is there a way to fix this? I assume the coin case glitch did this. (Not dissing your glitch in fact I love it and thanks so much for sharing!)
Have anyone tried to transfer the genned pokemon using this coin case glitch over to sumo/usum using poke transporter? I got a message saying problematic pokemon could not be transferred. This happened even for random pokemon such as alakazam that I created using this glitch. For celebi I understand that they block it because you cannot get it normally in game but everything else? Anyone can help?

This glitch works according to current HP. So if your pokemon is hurt from battle and has 1 HP you can get Bulbasaur!

I think I got it to work without going to the day care. I used a rare candy on the Ho-Oh I "caught" and it fixed its level.

yep if the items are in order it all depends on the low level pokemon if it actually works or not
it worked i got a mew level 1 gave it less exp then it needed to go to 2 so it grew to level 100..

so this way i can get all pokemon registered except for gen1 legendaries and pokemon that evolve through trading.

@@thunderthepikachu150 I could see that being the case past 255 because that seemed to be the hard coded max number in the Gameboy games. In gen 1 you could level a post lvl 100 (acquired through missingno glitch) pokemon up to 255 and then one more rare candy would flip it over to zero. But hypothetically speaking there would be 252 to 255 that could be glitched pokemon/bad eggs

Hi man, it seems that the coin case is bugged on VBA (it says "which move?PP of" since the beginning). I then tried it on "KiGB" emulator (the one you are using i think) but there is no way i can load your ".sav" file :( . i can't even use a "state save" from VBA to read from kigb. Is there any solution to import saves on KiGB (on windows)?? thanks
I am using VBA. Emulator shouldn't matter. Make sure the game and save file are the same name.

Every pokemon I glitched In gold and silver, including Mew and Celebi, were transferable to Sun and Moon. I used the shiny glitch on them too. No problems.

Get a mewtwo or a mew to level 100 or mons with level 100 with more than 251 hp get poisoned from a random tentacool get some pot or berries adjust the hp by run around or just drop the hp below 251 and run random and get random mons every time (best way to have fun XD) if you exact calculate you can even get the kanto starter s

same as starters box glitch, you have to breed new ones by hatching eggs from the daycare to get them to register in the Pokedex.
I tried to get a bulbasuar in the game but it have me a really glitched pokemon and if i try to release it crashes my game becuase i had tryed tried the glitche with 252 but that was the result of it idk what to do to fix it and it crashes if i deposit it too i just glitched that glitched pokemon and the seemed to have fixed it
If you wanna get bulbasaur you need to have the pokemon hp down to 1

Yes you can, Mew will need to have an OT/ID that matched the Event in order to be transferred, there are videos there for the Gen 2 games on how to do it, I only made one for the Gen 1 game.

It worked but can you levle it up normally. When i gave it daycare it said it grew 255 levels but it when it got it back it was still level 9.
This might be an exception, but it isn't allowing me to transfer my Mew. All others are fine. I'm guessing it's the same is for Celebi.

When I do this glitch it takes me to the bug catching contest and all this but it says "Glitch has caught a ???????" And gives me a sun stone, then I look in my party and there is no 6th slot pokemon there, the 5th slot pokemon had 83 HP and I had the 2 dummy pokemon, sleep talk quagsire and all that. Is it giving me the "???????" Because I don't have the pokemon registered into my pokedex or something?

TheWolfsHD Nah man, there's a coin case glitch where you can get x49 of each TM. All it requires is the setup Quagsire (Return as first move and holding TM02 Headbutt), low DV pokemon, and renaming your PC boxes.

They should be accepted by the bank just make that pokemon knows the correct moves. Coin Case glitches do not work on crystal.

Use a different low level pokemon, if after say 20+ it doesn't work try substituting the Stick item with the others in the list or vice-versa. No reason why it wouldn't work anymore as the game is the same as the retail versions and they have never been updated.
I found the problem i had to switch around my 2nd pokemon with the low level one. Love your videos by the way.

Entei is 244 and Raikou is 245 but dont try it. I tried and they didnt register in my Pokédex. Also since you didnt mention Suicune Im assuming your playing Crystal. This glitch doesnt work with silver.
Is there any explanation as to why I get different Pokémon than the hp. At 251 I get Celebi as intended but at 249 I get Lugia instead of mewtwo and at 245 I get suicune instead of dragonite? Am I doing something wrong?
No, its based off national dex. 150 for mewtwo and 149 for dragonite.

Thanks for your videos, I can't wait to try it once the VC are released! Does this depend on total HP or current HP? Could you get Crobat to get hit once and have 150 HP and spawn a Mewtwo instead of Mew, or do you need a Pokémon with total 150 HP to achieve that?
Just tested it out, and with the Crobat getting hit to 149 HP I received a Dragonite! :) so it's based off Current HP and not Max, so it can basically be any Pokemon then.

Did this on my gold cartridge and it WORKED. Had a crystal and silver spare and traded the items I needed. Q: if I do the glitch and I tested and got an Omanyte at level 1 will it register on my Dex or not until it’s level 5? It’s not registering.

Most you can just breed to hatch from eggs, only ones are trade evolution and legends where you won't be able to unless you can trade.

This happened even for random pokemon such as alakazam that I created using this glitch. For celebi I understand that they block it because you cannot get it normally in game but everything else? So, I know it’s probably a lot to ask and this probably won’t be seen, but could you potentially make a video of transferring these Glitch Pokémon? All of the ones that were “Caught” are problematic.
Just make sure they have legal movesets, and not the one from the pokemon you changed it from, also the level matters if you're doing a legendary.
