Pokemon obtained like this won't be registered to the pokedex unless traded. PS: If it doesn't work after say 20 low level Pokemon change the Stick item, or get it if you haven't used it already. Some people are getting it more consistent with Stick while others with the other method.
I am gonna try this later, i was hunting shiny lugia in this game but i don't have a lot of patience when it comes to soft resetting so this glitch will be really helpfull

For those who this glitch isn't working for, I tried this with A LOT of different low-level Pokémon but it didn't work. I was using the stick item so I decided to try the Apricorn method, after I changed the items I went to route 32 and I captured a female Hoppip (They're always at level 6, I used Hoppip as my low-level Pokémon in other coin case glitches before) and it worked. I don't know if it was because I finally get the right low-level Pokémon or if It was the Apricorn. I leave this here if someone is still having trouble with this glitch
Super grateful for this. I'm super late to this method but got it to work with a female level 3 Geodude. Also found out you do not need to reset after going back into elms house to save. So it saves a ton of time. You just have to make sure you go back into Elms house and then back to the tree...otherwise you glitch into rival encounter music.

Thanks for this I had to try all lot but now I finally got it Important *** If it doesn't glitch after you press the coin case DONT press it again it Worked check the stats of the Pokemon and you'll see I kept pressing the coin case till it glitches and nothing try pressing the coin case once and if it doesn't glitch it worked so save it afterward I also used level 2 sentret female in third slot

I followed the entire list and switched necessary items from my crystal to my silver to test it. Tried many pokemon, had quagsire with TM and sleep talk, and it didn’t work till I used my Unown . Now have shiny lugia and dragonite PS this does work on original cartridge games, using silver version right now

STRANGEST SHIT EVER. It worked on turning my mew shiny, but then when I swapped mew for another to shinyfy, it stopped working, I get freeze glitches or reset glitches with wierd colors, can the species or level of the target shiny pokemon cause it to not work with the same low lvl slot 3 pokemon?
Im struggling to make mine work, so I wanted to ask a couple of questions: 1- my pokedex entry for machop is not filled since I didn't catch it. Do I need to catch it to make this work? 2- I set up the items exactly shown (with the stick method), but I still have some items leftover in the pc box at the bottom. Do I have to remove all the extra items in my pc? The result I see is a forced reset of the game, and it returns with the intro in different colors. Its very glitchy. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!
There's another way to do it, by making the game get data from the current box's name instead of the items in the PC. You have to fill the items thing in the PC though, but it's a lot more versatile.
I think you need to find the right values for the items and Pokemon to do it in German version. It's probably different. Only someone who understands how this works can convert it to German version and they need to find the same values from the German version as well.

QUESTION: Exactly what in the low-level Wild Pokemon are we looking for, or what aspects of that Pokemon affect the glitch? Is it the IVs, EVs, the level, the Pokedex number...
Is it possible to see what each item does that corresponds to the IV value of the pokemon so we can play around and set them to max IV's or any ivs we choose for hidden power abilities?
When you trade from GSC to ORAS, they always get their hidden abilities instead of the regular, also most of them get at least 3 perfect IVS and for legendaries, at least 4 perfect IVs. But that's if you playing the virtual console. If you playing on a real cartridge when trading to RS Emerald they get the only abillity avaliable in Gen 3 and for IVs they are completely random, you can 1 to even 5 perfect IVs.
Is level 5 low enough? And Do you know the required dv range/ values? Because if so wouldn't it be easier to catch unknown letter[s] that fit , because their dvs determine shape too

Make sure you change pages when viewing pokedex (select Pokemon the n press a again before b) I had a Pokemon that did not work but I saw where they said to try that and 3rd Pokemon it works.
When poke transporter gets updated and I transport these shiny Pokemon to ultra sun/moon and use them online for competitive battling do you think I could potentially get banned
99,9% sure these shinified pokemon cannot be detected as glitched during poke transfer, the only reason it prevents mew and other event legendary from working on poke transporter is because they specifically blacklisted those pokemon unless they have specific OT.

Just as an F.Y.I. I transferred a "shinyfied" Magnemite to my Pokemon Yellow then to Pokemon Moon and it retained the its Shiny color, So I assume Johto Pokemon will be the same. Best Exploit Ever!
Only 100% Legit Mew are permited through pokebank. You need the name of the trainer to be GF (Game Freak) with an especific ID. Otherwise the game will not let you transfer.

Glitch worked for half of my party. Umbreon an ho-oh in slot 1 and 2, sentret and quags in slot 3 and 4, lapras and raikou in slot 5 and 6. Was able to make umbreon and ho oh shiny but when i went to try raik and laps the game goes white after opening the coin case. Help?
Does the amount of coins you have in your coin case affect the outcome of the exploit? I have this all set up in my VC game for making Pokémon shiny but would like the Porygon from the game corner. However I don't want to buy/win coins and then lose the ability to use this.
Flower mail is the correct item? I'm been using great ball and its working fine for me. Am I corrupting my game for using greatball instead or they both work, but flower mail just have better success rate?

I just tried it on VC and it reset my game into what looked like non-GBC mode. It fixed after I hard reset. Was that because my low level Pokemon was wrong or was it a different problem? Sorry, I'm new to this.
ColeNadsProductions it's likely a problem with the third slot pokemon. You should try several low level Pokemon until it works. It's based off values you can't see so it's a bit of luck
ColeNadsProductions I also had the same problem, make sure you reset after saving in Elm’s lab. If it still doesn’t work then it’s your third slot Pokémon causing the problem
So since you're forcibly altering DVs to make this shinyness happen, would you happen to know an item layout that would allow me to simply max out the DVs?
It works for me with Great Balls, though when using the coin case there are glitch-like symbols that appear then disappear. Still get a shiny in the end :)

I made sure my items were all the correct order (checked several times). I've been catching FEMALE level 2 pidgey/rattatta/sentret for hours. So why can’t we use that method where we just have a Quagsire with tm27 on 1st slot while holding a tm02? Does it just not work for VC?

Try the bluw appricorn way. I tried it and got it on the first time!! Tried it with the stick and no luck until I used the blue appricorn way

No, it works using a translation error that came from the Japanese translation to English and was fixed in the subsequent translations.

but why would you want to take those odds with breeding.. just shinify the pokemon you breed using this.
So your other pokemon can be semi legit i guess

Super helpful tutorial. Got it to work on my 2nd attempt. If I was to transfer the legendary birds from R/B/Y would they become shiny as well using this method?
Just as an F.Y.I. I transferred a "shinyfied" Magnemite to my Pokemon Yellow then to Pokemon Moon and it retained the its Shiny color, So I assume Johto Pokemon will be the same. Best Exploit Ever!

Only 100% Legit Mew are permited through pokebank. You need the name of the trainer to be GF (Game Freak) with an especific ID. Otherwise the game will not let you transfer.

I was able to get the stick item. All my game does is either freeze or do the color swap. I’ve tried like 10 Pokémon I have no idea what I’m doing wrong
Glitch worked for half of my party.
Umbreon an ho-oh in slot 1 and 2, sentret and quags in slot 3 and 4, lapras and raikou in slot 5 and 6.
Was able to make umbreon and ho oh shiny but when i went to try raik and laps the game goes white after opening the coin case.

Does the amount of coins you have in your coin case affect the outcome of the exploit? I have this all set up in my VC game for making Pokémon shiny but would like the Porygon from the game corner. However I don't want to buy/win coins and then lose the ability to use this.

Flower mail is the correct item? I'm been using great ball and its working fine for me. Am I corrupting my game for using greatball instead or they both work, but flower mail just have better success rate?

So I've followed the whole method correct. Just as you did in the video... Still not working. Game just freezes or changes color... Are there certain items you cant use in any item??? Also do you have to have caught machop before? Super frustrating that no low levels Pokemon are solving this

I just tried it on VC and it reset my game into what looked like non-GBC mode. It fixed after I hard reset. Was that because my low level Pokemon was wrong or was it a different problem?

ColeNadsProductions it's likely a problem with the third slot pokemon. You should try several low level Pokemon until it works. It's based off values you can't see so it's a bit of luck
ColeNadsProductions I also had the same problem, make sure you reset after saving in Elm’s lab. If it still doesn’t work then it’s your third slot Pokémon causing the problem

So since you're forcibly altering DVs to make this shinyness happen, would you happen to know an item layout that would allow me to simply max out the DVs?
If the DVs were maxed to all be 15, then the Pokemon would not be shiny, but it would be a really good battler. :)

It works for me with Great Balls, though when using the coin case there are glitch-like symbols that appear then disappear. Still get a shiny in the end :)

I don't know if i'm doing this correctly. I've checked my items and made sure they were correct. I've caught a machop just in case. I've caught 75+ low lvl pokemon and nothing is working. I don't get a glitch or a shiny. do I need all the items you have in your computer?
You need everything listed in the description. If it still doesn't work substitute the items with stick as listed.

Is there any estimate about the chances of getting a WORKING 3rd slot low level pokemon? I've followed the instructions you provided for HOURS and haven't managed to pull the glitch off. I made sure my items were all the correct order (checked several times). I've been catching FEMALE level 2 pidgey/rattatta/sentret for hours. Either the game freezes when I select coin case, or it resets when I select coin case then "use", or it shows a bunch of red and blue blocks and plays the "Trainers' Eyes Meet - Team Rocket" track: ua-cam.com/video/Uquvi61gm2E/v-deo.html. It would be funny if they programed that into the VC version of the game - trying to glitch shiney's plays the team rocket soundtrack

Well it works for others so you don't need to believe me. Don't know what to say. If your game resets on its own the low level pokemon is bad.

So I tried this a few times and got it to work on my 4th try but since my first attempt where the game just crashed after using the coin case the colors in-game are completely messed up. Is there any way to fix this? If not it isn't to bad i guess it just looks weird...
