I think they missed the mark going with the Raptor at the end. For nostalgia, go with a 2 door Heritage edition. It looks so much more true to the original.
100%. The Bronco Raptor has little in common with the regular Bronco. Different engine, highly modified frame, different axles… it’s honestly almost as different from a regular Bronco as a regular Bronco is from the Bronco sport.

Yeah Ford owes it to the community to keep it around long enough to give it the best chance of life and rebuild Heritage and aftermarket support @backwoodstherapy
I personally hate it when people say something is the best JUST because its the first. Also found it a bit dumb to consistently say "this one is better than the last", and "it was upgraded in many ways" but then rate it the same or lower.
Technical “upgrades” don’t necessarily equal experience upgrades. Look at the modern “bronco”. All the tech in the world, and even pretty capable, but I’d bet you’d make way better memories in the one that weighs a third as much and doesn’t have any of the tech. Newer isn’t always better.

I had a 79 Bronco XLT Eddie Bauer trim with the 200hp 400 ci back in the early 80’s - it was a great truck except for the 7 mpg. 40 gallon fuel tank gave it what range it had. One of my favourites!
That spongy steering is a Ford truck thing 100%. Ive owned a 78, 91, and a 96 F150 along with a 93 Bronco and all of them have that steering feel. Aftermarket power steering pumps can fix a lot of that slop and make the trucks less a chore to drive.
The Bronco has always been a floater in my opinion. When the old school flat fender Jeeps came out they were strictly light-duty workhorses that when they came to the civilian market, could also be used for recreation, the same goes for the origional international scouts. When Bronco came out it was more of a toy rather than a work truck. Then when the Chevy K5 and GMC Jimmys came out they offered the best of both worlds, they had the towing capacity and space to do work being based on full-size trucks. They also had their short size and off-road capability which made them also good for recreation. The same goes for Dodge Ram chargers and the earlier full-size Jeep Cherokees. these bigger trucks were more popular hence why the Bronco went the way it did. when Bronco died, they just killed it off period, unlike the K5 Blazer which was just renamed the Tahoe and added 2 extra doors to allow it to fit in better with the contemporary market. Also @Donut media needs to to every K5 Blazer up to the current generation of Tahoe.
They’re all 10s to me. I love Broncos. I have a 96 and it’s great. They were fantastic vehicles for contractors or anyone working out of their truck. My dad had one in the 90s that he used for his painting business. The tailgate in the back is great for a workbench. Also camping out of these is a lot of fun. Use the back for a bed and you stay dry and it’s easy to pack up. The seats are comfortable even when they’re old. I’ll drive my Bronco until it dies or I do.

New Bronco is just a different looking grocery getter. Most buyers will never treat it like a Bronco, so it doesn't really matter if it feels like one or not.
Might have missed the tone of the original Bronco by using a restomodded one. The original was a very utilitarian vehicle and I may be wrong but didn’t the size grow in the gen 2 to match the f150 due to sales competition from other automakers.
I had a super clean Gen 3 a long time ago. It was not the greatest vehicle on any measurable scale, but it was still great. The best thing about the Broncos was the turning radius, it had like a whole extra rotation on the wheel.
I gave away my nice 1980 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger M/T 4x4 to a friend when I had to move several years ago and he destroyed it trying to make it "better" 😭wish I didn't do that
I have done it while moving. My friend and I got really good at this. we used to pass people on the highway and then hurry up and switch. Then slow down, and do it again to the same car. I think the best we did was maybe 8 times in 5 minutes. But we were having to pass the vehicle and then go to the right lane, slow down, and then back to the left and pass again, all while switching. The key is have the passenger hold The steering wheel, have the driver move and lean the seat back. Then he jumps into the back of the car. He then reaches up and holds on to the wheel alongside the window. And the passenger climbs into the driver seat, adjusts it, and simply takes over driving. The passenger can climb back up front if he wants. Rinse and repeat. Shoes will be on seats, so, don't do it with a nice car.
