Awesome stuff JC. Very well put together. I loved the part about dumping braid due to poor hook up rates. My cod fishing is much different than yours, I still love my braid. I do however refuse to use braid for my trout fishing. Line stretch is critical with fish that jump and carry on, just as it no doubt is with monster Murray cod. Great work mate.

Man we have caught cod in every arm of Eildon, they release them all over the lake so there is no best spot, trust me! Just find a bank with nice structure and fish it hard, it's better than zooming all over the lake looking for the magic spot!
i dont understand why people have such a low hook up rate with braid. Softbait, glidebait, segmented baits etc no issues. You guys aint trying to set hooks like the bass guys are ya hahaha ?.

The bait just prior? It was a Solarfall soft bait we had several limited runs of. Mikko makes great lures, well worth looking him up! @solarbaits

It's a pretty common issue from a bunch of guys I know whether you strike or not! How do you go with it?
Don’t usually have any issues man after the initial tick. Dead hands is the key I reckon. Soon as that hook pricks they will spit it.
