A very clear statement on how to model economy to support ecology. So happy to find this.

I am glad to have found this. In my view also, the systems of wisdom traditions will be our only sustainable way forward. I am not quite sure how to picture economics as a living system though, as said in the beginning of the video, but will let that slide... I am also a little bit apprehensive about saying that this regenerative economics will bring prosperity, without first clearly defining that new kind of prosperity. That kind of prosperity does not contain lots of new stuff...
We have to realize that our common and current view of what is prosperity (a bit like the "good life") is a major part of the problem. It is not sustainable. And this must be addressed as politically unsettling as it is. Having less is always a bummer.
I heard a new term yesterday called "indigenuity". It concerns the way of indigenous peoples as helping to uncover ideas about how we should proceed. I will certainly look up more about that.
This video was pleasantly a softer version in comparison to full on Degrowth-path. I think Jason Hickel's views are spot on, but due to them being politically a bit more divisive, this regenerative perspective might be a more palatable pill to swallow. Saying outright that capitalism is the culprit gets so many people worked up with fears of communism. I myself think capitalism shares a nasty feature that seems to naturally (!) and systemically occur in all -isms: taken to it's extreme it implodes on itself. That said, many -isms have a good ride, but always to a point. We should always try to remember that.

you're joking, right? this is part of a "tomorrow's capitalism" series...and it is much more fundamental than the superficial rift between capitalism and communism in civilized societies.
