Origami Lucky Star - Tutorial

- Learn how to make an origami lucky star!
All you need is a thin strip of paper.
I am using a strip that is 11in long and 1cm wide.
The type of paper is regular copy paper (20#).
Make sure the paper is not too thick.

I used to make stars when I was in high school. I made a thousand of them and made a wish. I was told that my wish will come true if I made a thousand stars. lol..
Lol They're super fun to make too! We haven't quite made 1,000 yet but we have made a bunch!

Ok so,i dont know what i did wrong here but...
I followed all the rules and you explained REALLY WELL but at the end instead of a star it came out as a pentagon only?
My grandma is now mad at me cuz she couldnt get a paper star but she got a paper pentagon 😂❤
Oh no! Don’t give up. Try folding around a little lighter, not quite as tight. And don’t crease each wrap around. That will hopefully help it puff easier!

My paper won’t make the shape at the end
I did this but the star is so thin and its not like puffy and fat like in the video? Did i do anything wrong?? I used notebook paper.
If you find that it’s making something like a “bowl” shape on one side, it may not have enough layers wrapped around the pentagon shape. You can try taping/gluing two strips together to make it stronger! Otherwise, make sure that you are pushing in the sides gently and not creasing them as you wrap. ☺️ Hope this helps you!

I don’t have nails how do I push them in?
You can use anything around the house that is flat but solid. This could be tweezers, a ruler, gift card, nail file, small scissors (be careful!!), or anything else like that! ☺️

I have 3 flat pentagones and I still can’t do it 😟😟
Don’t give up! Try to keep from pressing down. I know it shows me doing it, but I have learned that keeping it soft and puffy is better! So keep the pentagon shape, but don’t press on the edges. Try that out and see if it gets any better!

That’s where most people start to have trouble! It’s okay! Try to add more layers or use thicker paper to help you. And make sure not to crease the edges. I know I do in the video, but I have learned to teach everyone not to anymore.

Am I the only one who gets lost on the folding part? Like mine doesn't fold into a pentagon, it folds into anything but a pentagon.
When you wrap it, you have to kind of maneuver it around to create the pentagon shape. Try pulling only the longer end of the strip and holding the shorter end in place. It might help!

Make sure you have enough layers. If it is too few there will not be enough stability to puff it up.
