Thanks so much! I've been wanting to make a lucky star for forever, but could never figure out where I went wrong (the paper was too short, so then I couldn't make the sides properly, and then pressing the sides in made it worse) Thanks to the tutlrial, I made four pretty okay ones! Still needs some work, but now it resembles a star!
Some things I found out:
1. If you are using letter paper (8 1/2 by 11, definitely go for a smaller size. The tail at 2cm wide is too short to wrap around the star after the initial pass to make one of the sides come together.
2. When using washi tape, try not to press the folds down too much. The tape tends to keep them, so once you fold it, it's mostly permanent.
3. The side you want on the outside should not be facing you at the start. As long as you take that into account, the rest of it is the same, and the outside will show up very nicely!
