I remember years back you would say how much you could learn by watching…..well you’re paying it forward…from your dad…to you…and now to us. Thanks Jimmy !…🇺🇸….
The wood is stunning and truly steals the show, but the proportions of the bench and the angles are so visually pleasing. Everything comes together beautifully!
I’ve never had any desire to learn how to weld… until now. Beautiful bench. Looks like two slabs of bacon upon which I can sit and ponder life’s mysteries while eating bacon.
Wow! Such a fabulous piece. The contrast between the heart & sap wood is majestic & the steel has strength permanence & purpose to this to this giants bench as though made for the spirits of the Forrest by a magical Smth. Thank you for sharing!
Impressive work! Especially freehanding the slots with the router. Beautiful final piece. Love the classic Diresta video vibes and the mixture of hand tools and power tools.
Looks fantastic. Hope it gets place in the shade. Otherwise the first one to sit on the steel parts with shorts or light fabric will remember the bench for some time. :)
It's one thing to uproot a dead tree and make a piece of functional art, but BRAVO to your visual storytelling of how you created that beautiful peice!
I genuinely wasn’t exactly sure where you going with it a few times, even though I’d seen the finished picture already😂 That sap wood is SO white, it’s awesome🙌🏻
Awesome seat, love walnut, wish it was more prevalent in Australia. So satisfying putting finish on a piece and seeing that grain pop, that crotch would make Cremona proud 😁
The bench is okay, but I never get tired of seeing all the equipment and space he has. Life is hard, but being able to go out there and build something would make it a lot easier.
Awesome from raw form to finished. I like the induction forge rivet process. The edit was good see your finding some transitions you like. Looks like you got the Ken burns down too. Nice close with the diagonal wipe too I like that. Solid work solid piece. I may just get some total boat gleam to brush my sign. Every-time I see it it looks good. I should probably get gloss for build and satin for the final coat.
I have a timberking sawmill and the thickness measuring system was fairly basic. I grabbed a cheap DRO (digital read out) from Amajon for about 80 bucks. It has a 36" linear slide and reads out in fractional inches, decimal or metric. Bolted that baby to to the carriage, put the slider on the frame and now I can see the thickness of my cuts right off the scale. Very handy. Keep up the great videos. I sure don't miss those upstate winters... Greetings from Alabama from a former Catskillian.
Love it when I don't know where is the video going. For a moment I thought this will be a wall art. Then it clicked. The end result is absolutely great!
I do love that you kept the bark. Also surprised to see you build from a tree that was still practically mooing and chewing. I'm surprised that the "actually crowd" hasn't had your channel removed. Lol!
Ill never forget the day we where cleaning the gokart track and you handed me that chainsaw with a 3 ft bar on it (heavy exaggeration) to cut a 3" branch 🤣🤣🤣 badass bench love the dark heart of the wood!
You have the coolest toys! And that is a seriously stunning log! I always enjoy your process because I am always thinking to myself: "What the heck is he doing now?" but I know if I'm just a little patient I am always rewarded in the end
That is a pretty hip looking bench! Although I’m curious as to how you’re going to move it around, things got to weigh a ton! You can always say it’s for the shop there and leave it where it stands.
Great job James…….hope I’m around next summer to see just how those planks decide to dry out and twist? Maybe you’ve discovered some method to stop that. Lookin sweeeet though .

Funny seeing my tree I thought was destined for firewood to turn into a beautiful bench!
This Walnut was to nice for the fire ! Greetings from France

Agreed.
Thank you! ❤
Indeed ❤
Good job 🎉🎉🎉❤

I love the stomach and hammer technique where you pushed it against the metal as a push block lol. 👍🏽
Absolutely the new benchmark for rustic minimalist elongated seating surfaces!
Salam kenal sukses selalu
What an absolute Diresta classic! Love you Jimmy. Make On my friend.
Very cool, Jimmy. I love when you get new toys and share them with us. The peening of the rivets method was sweet.
Visually striking, but what I love most about this piece is the lack of material. Just enough to make it work- a true exercise in restraint ❤
Good luck 🎉
I love when you mix metal with wood! And I’m so glad you kept the bark on! It’s so gorgeous!!!❤❤❤
Hello fellow New Yorker I love your work all these years you have learned so much and taught me so much more
Just love that Jimmy saw some dead tree and thought ‘I’m gonna make you my bench.’ Great work as always
Especially when you consider that most people would have thought "I'm gonna put you in the woodstove" instead.
Impressive work! Especially freehanding the slots with the router. Beautiful final piece. Love the classic Diresta video vibes and the mixture of hand tools and power tools.
It is a piece of art. Beautiful work!
I like your workshop, it has all the basic machines and tools needed to produce great wood products. I really like your workplace. 🥰😃😃😃😃
A great and highly original bench…well done mr deresta 👍👍👍👍
Those rivets !! ❤ so many creative techniques Jimmy , incredible work 😊
That genuine proud smile with the thumbs up when sitting on the half finished bench is priceless! A happy maker, right there! :)
What an imagination that could conceive a pushed over tree into a park bench . Thanks for allowing us to ride along while you do your magic.
Remember when everything in your shop used to say 'Diresta' and your shop was a basement? lol
A truly one of a kind piece Jimmy, well done!
Bench for life, great job jimmy.
Beautiful bench Jimmy! The “test lying” reminds me of the bench in front of your workshop in NYC. Great job!
simply beautiful Jimmy, I remember going to your A street bench and getting my pic on it. Now I gotta get to this one someday.
Well. It probably won’t be blown away by the first spring zephyr that comes along. That’s one awesome manly bench and a Diresta Special for sure.
What a simple and awesome design. Love it.
Какой цвет и фактура! А в сочетании с чистым металлом вообще красота!
I really enjoy the striking contrast between the hardwood and the sapwood. I also love how the steel looks like its squeezing the wood.
Thank you for showing more of the welding this time!
I saw it, your shop trumpet in the background !
Amazing job as always, truly a master of all trades !
I’m lost for words Jimmy! Just a beautiful piece of work!
Amazing, looks great. Enjoy watching you work.
J Diresta... the best Maker Editor on UA-cam!
I like this classic video format👍
Love the minimalist frame. Letting the Walnut do all the work. Amazing build !
Flintstones, meet the Flintstones a modern stone age family!
Fantastic Jimmy. It's all you bro. Cheers 🇨🇦
Nice ❤ I can't believe there is a tool in your shop without your name painted on it! 😂
Jimmy you are simply “the best of the best of the best”…😂😂MIB..remember?? But you are!! Much love from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!!🛠️
Looks fantastic. Hope it gets place in the shade. Otherwise the first one to sit on the steel parts with shorts or light fabric will remember the bench for some time. :)
As I approach 80, like you I was a one man shop doing one of a kind of my own designs and loving every moment.
Walnut is so nice; one of my favorites. Love the heartwood/sapwood combo! Nice job as always.
It's one thing to uproot a dead tree and make a piece of functional art, but BRAVO to your visual storytelling of how you created that beautiful peice!
Jim, been a long-time admirer of your work! Your a true craftsman that I've learned so much from thank you

I almost missed my train stop!
Great video. New mill and Kabota are awesome!!
The bench is okay, but I never get tired of seeing all the equipment and space he has. Life is hard, but being able to go out there and build something would make it a lot easier.
Really enjoy watching your process. Love the old hammer being used on the legs. Cool project!
Браво, работа МАСТЕРА. Тихо завидую оборудованию и инструментам в мастерской.
The pattern on the steel legs make them look like a gnarled branch, so cool
Creatividad y belleza absoluta! La simplicidad hecha arte. Gracias por compartirlo Jimmy! Un abrazo!

Wow…what an amazing and cool looking bench 👍🏻, well done!
You went full Cremona on this one!👏👏👏

Cool, live edge black walnut, blacksmith inspired hardware and a very generous coat of Gleem what could be better, thanks for the inspiration🤗😎🤗😎
Amazing. These are the builds why I love Jimmy's channel!
Every time you pick up those slabs, the noises you made were hilarious. The bench turned out so good.
What a beautiful project. Really enjoyed watching this, Jimmy. Thanks for the great content. Truly stunning result.
Beautiful Bench Jimmy! I especially like all the metal working details you added!
An old school Jimmy Diresta video. Love it
Absolutely LOVE how this bench turned out, Jimmy!

Always great work! Thank you Jimmy I have learned so much from you and thanks for sharing!

That wood is beautiful, great video Jimmy!
I love your vision. Thanks for sharing.
Great looking bench! Always nice when you can take a little nap on the project before the final sanding.
Love the steel with it...that's a great look!

Hello Jimmy beautiful bench beautifully made good job well done
Perfetta ❤come te bella diresta 👍
Great build I really like the rivets you made.
This is awesome!!!! It would go in a museum brilliantly for people to sit on, kids would be so fascinated, I know I would be too! 😊
Awesome looking. You might want to tighten that chain on the saw. lol
Ok, that was awesome. I have to make one of those now. That look like a blast. Thanks again.
This video reminded me of the old days great video Jimmy
A Nakashima vibe, elevated by Diresta craftsmanship. Great piece!
my favorite vids are when you combine wood and metal
Awesome! I love the "calibrated box gauges! "This is too big....this is too small....this one is JUST right!!! " DD
Alec Steele will be impressed 👍. Nice build.
