Great video again Chris and glad you like the BST Rapid TEK wheels! When you get a moment, please weigh a used Hook-up vs. a new one. The used typically several lbs. less (or more!) Also, for each 1 lb. of rotating mass that is removed from the wheels, it's the equivalent of removing 5-7 lbs. of static weight from the bike... so 5 lbs. total is like making you bike 25 lbs. lighter :)
@@djinnzukii671 All speeds and they help more the faster you go - You can feel the wheels in your first 10 feet of rolling on them for the first time. They also hold the land speed record for a sit-on motorcycle at an amazing 311.94 MPH in certified LSR competition. Google that speed for more info.
@@djinnzukii671 You are speaking of MOI. Even if two wheels weigh exactly the same, the wheel with more weight removed from the rim will be easier to accelerate and turn. BST has the lightest MOI (Mass Moment of Inertia) of any wheels on the market. Carbon Wheels don't make more power, they make the bike accelerate quicker using the same power. The gains don't really show up as horsepower on the dyno. They show up as a quicker/faster bike that rides smoother and requires less effort to turn in the real world. They are considered an unfair advantage in most road racing organizations because a rider using them can accelerate quicker, brake later and is less fatigued at the end of the race.
@@BrockDavidson most of the bans are safety based afaik unless you have evidence to the contrary. Carbon cracking on a roadcourse being an issue. For drags it's nowhere near an issue given huge mileage difference between a drag season and a roadcourse season.
@@jediknight1294 The bans are political at the highest levels, which trickles down to the lower racing organizations (AKA, It's easier for Moto America to adopt FIM rules than it is create and police their own etc...). High-level road race bikes place far more stress on the front wheel during hard braking than the rear wheel experiences under hard acceleration. Drag bikes, especially the Pro Street class, have 700 hp/350 ft-lbs bikes with 700+ lb bike and rider combinations that race on a track that is quite literally covered in glue. The front-wheel needs to be able to absorb 150+ MPH wheelies with less than an inch of travel with basically no rebound or compression dampening. Many BST drag bikes use the wheels for 10+ years. Road racing has used the 'too expense' excuse for years, which is pretty silly now that carbon wheels cost less than magnesium. They also use the 'difficult tell if they are damaged after a crash' excuse - more valid for certain, but today's CT Scanning technology as well as natural frequency testing also debunk's this mindset.
