[Musikk og tekst skrevet Mars 1993 a.y.p.s.]
"Urds bronn er ikke lenger et dunkelt dyp vi stirrer ned
i, men en levende strom som går befruktende gjennem
Nordens land. Ja, mod Tilvaerelsens hoiste Syner kan
dette Liv nu haeve sig i Udfoldelse af sin Grundkraft og
Eiendommelighed, haeve sig til Alfader, der er over
Valhal, til ham, til den sande Gud..."
[Rundgang un die transzendentale Säule der Singularität]
[Musik und Text MÄrz 1993 a.y.p.s.]
"Die Quelle des Urd ist nicht länger ein dunkles Tief, in
das wir starren, sondern ein
lebender Strom, der fruchtbar durch die Länder des Nor-
dens fliebt. Ja, gegen die höchsten
Visionen der Essenz kann sich dieses Leben nun in Entwicklung
seiner gründenden
Kraft und Sonderlichkeit erheben, erheben zum Allvater, der
über Walhall ist, zu ihm,
dem wahren Gott..."
"The well of the region is no longer a dark depth, in which we stare, but a living stream, that fertilely flows through the lands of the North. Yes, to the highest visions of essence, this life can now elevate itself into development of it's true power and particularity, elevated to the father of all, who is up high in Valhalla, to him, the true god..."
[Johan Sebastian Cammermeyer Welhaven]
This song reminds me of being alone, deep in a silent snowy forest, just as night falls. You have nowhere to go and nothing to do but marvel up at the tall swaying trees and watch everything go dark as you slowly freeze to death.
Really? It reminds me of a crazy hot caribean party with a plethora of hot girls, drugs and homies all arround.

Despite how repetitive that main melody is, it just never gets old. This song takes you places thats for sure.
Dam rights!! like the Golden age!
its too long for me. i like other Burzum amient tracks but this one is way too long and repetitive.
I love the repetition, it's hypnotic and trance like. I don't think this should be listened to as a "song" in the traditional sense, but more of a background texture or something to have on while you nap.

I've never heard anything that can be so simple and so powerful in the highest balance. A minimalistic masterpiece.
you can listen to it form two channels at the same time and then it's even more interesting. maybe 3 is ok too ;-)
I concur!!!
i heard this 1996 ,this was my head meny weeks..i want the time back............
i have "filosofem"book with inside this cd have you?
Tommi Matikainen "Filosofem" book? Can you elaborate, I'm interested.
Every winter I go for a walk around the city while the snow is falling and just listening to this song, the best meditation.
I did the same this year only with fields and hills :>
This song cured me of cardiac arrhythmias. I only walked all day in the woods, and in one ear I had this handset where play this. Thank you Varg!
One of the prettiest melodies I've ever listened to. Always melts away reality.
this is true black metal.. atmosphere, creativity, avant garde, esoteric, organic...
This is not black metal, but rather dungeon synth or dark ambient.
it's beautiful nonetheless
Nothing like “this is true black metal” In every damn comment section for a black metal song. At this point you’d be more hard pressed to find someone say every black metal song isn’t true
The whole Filosofem album is Ambient Black Metal except for this which goes full Ambient
nothing about this is black metal
@@collt091 musically no, emotionally yes.
The synthesizer that was used for all the sounds where the Casio cz-101 which was a low cost 80s synth that did "phase distortion" which was Casio`s take on Frequency modulation synthesis, (FM) which shaped the 80s sound, with synths like the Yamaha DX7. The CZ-101 is a Surprisingly beautiful sounding instrument.
That's awesome info! Thanks for that. Do any retailers still sell them?
@@brandontadday6288 Arturia makes a softsynth version.
@@robstand cheers! If I ever have 200 bucks lying around I'll defintely pick it up and make me some Burzum inspired dark ambient.
You are amazing!
holy fuck i have been looking for this info for so long
This is just a piece of art, simple, and relaxing... it takes me to another place... Need to listen to this in the forest at night.
A jéghideg, rideg és végtelen Univerzum hangjai. A csillagok, galaxysok által kibocsátott fénysugarak több milliárd évig tartó utazása a Világegyetemben. Ha ezt a zenét hallgatom, egyfajta Csillagutazóként suhanok én is a világegyetem legtávolabbi zugaiba, eltűnődve milyen apró kis porszemek vagyunk eme felfoghatatlanul nagy világban.
Circumambulation of the Transcendental Columns of Singularity
Anxiety curing, meditative music. For when you just want to forget the world exists for a little bit.
Ancient Northern-European forests is all i can think about listening to this beautifull simple masterpiece.
one of my favorite burzum songs. i just get taken away, to a place far away from here.

My favourite track off the Filosofem album.
This metal is my calm
this is cvlt ambient song.
very melancholy and meditative.
back in child years.
Nice!
This makes me feel like I'm trapped forever with no chance of escape into an infinite black void between space, time and reality without knowing if I can reach any of its endings and I can't move at all, I'm like a stone, trapped in nowhere, not knowing if I'm in the middle or just one step closer to escaping this infernal, eternal dream and this song plays. Forever, and ever, and ever...
i just feel like im being talked to by a norwegian pagan arsonist who killed one of his mates over 40k

Used to hate it, when I first heard it on the album: "A 25 minute monotonous repetitive song...boring! Who would want to listen to that?"
But it grew on me like nothing else and now I get it. It's addictinh to listen to
This track has always made me feel like I'm deep underwater, discovering a world I've never seen
#subnautica
oh yeah, this would be fantastic on a dive!
Great artist respect from italy
I had started listening to Black Metal just one year ago, with Les Legions Noires, and then with DSBM, which is definitively the style I feel more attracts me the most, along with dark ambient.
Now it´s being a real pleasure to discover Burzum. What a prodigality of talent!!
makes me feel less worthless. Thank you Varg, thank you.
This was perfect background music while working on my farm, deep in the woods, running fence wire.
11:41 - 25:11 my favorite part.
@man _ This is not one of his prison works.
mine too
Good music for meditation..
Hail Burzum.
Beautiful picture at 11:42
This is what is was listening precisely 2 years ago when my beloved father, Antonio Schiavone, was on the verge of dying of a cancer that has been hidden to me for 8 years. Hail Varg, Hail Nature, Hail Freedom. He left before this corona delirium came into being. Peace
Just like Schiavone the wrestling promoter and commentator?
The second movement is the greatest synth composition I’ve ever heard.
perfect for lovecraftian reading
thanks for the tip, sounds awesome
No. Dark ambiant for Lovecraft.

Or maybe to read "The Lord of the Rings" "Silmarillion"
This is the place where we meet. For the first and the final time.
Never forget what you came here for.
One of my favourite Burzum tracks. I sometimes listen to this to help me drift off to sleep.
The best Burzum's ambient. Really love it!
The best Burzum tune imo.
Which makes it his best tune, Black Metal fuckin' sucks.
I also love "Tomhet".

A song of deep thought and contemplation.
Totally beautiful
I always listen that before I sleep
Song at face value: One of greatest ambiant tracks of all time

I like to imagine, if Kittelsen ever made a piece of music, he would probably make something quite similar to this.

I dream to this of laying down into snow, the snowflakes fall silently on my body. The cold touches me and i'm slowly falling asleep into a deep, endless abyss and on the ground waits nothingness.

It reminds me about falling asleep slowly in the middle of the night, alone, in empty house.
I feel this song slowly pulling me somewhere I don't wanna go.
Deep and dark space.
always been my soundtrack for study/work
I really like early Burzum, including this release. Although a man who changed his name twice and murdered a guy over a few thou krona THEN was released to spout more crap, well I've not even wanted to listen to him post prison as I've grown up. Pre 94 stuff is awesome I agree. The guy himself is unusual and changes his mind about beliefs and egotistical. That's just my opinion on Varg as he was known.
I kinda feel bad for all the people who were first introduced to varg through his UA-cam channel after he got out of prison. Well unless they are nazis then i know they gobble that shit up. I first started listening to him in 06 (I was about 16 at the time) so everything about the music was actually mysterious and magical back then.
Just listening to this after smoking 5-meo-dmt - perfect fit.
If your pride, self-respect, and morals are strong, you can't go wrong. Nowadays there are many people out there who have absolutely no respect for others or themselves and carry themselves with absolutely no decency or character.
guwop took it to another level, burzum goes hard
genio musical
SUPER MASTERPIECE.
If you like it, check out Winterreise by Coldworld, atmosphere in both tracks is quite similar.
I have heard a lot about Coldworld. Have you got any albums to suggest that I check out? They are a DSBM band right?
Thanks for the suggestion! I really like them.
Lynne Dealy He really is an amazing musician. Melancholie has an absolutely incomparable atmosphere. You should check out the album Wind by Melankoli as well!
I will! Really enjoy this ambient music.

солнышко ты наше....
Tranquilidad
I agree, when I saw black metal, I expected some of agressivity, but this song is the opposite of this ! Totally Peacful. It's not what I generally listen, but I like it. But it's often the same :) !
This reminds me of Mass Effect, especially the first one.
You cna hear "Det some er gar var" in there, Varg obviously likes that arrangement of notes
I imagine decoposed bodies decaying while maggots and flies feast on them when I listen to this track
