    There's nothing more gratifying than waking up & coming home to a clean & organized home! Never leave a room empty-handed (is my motto)! If you get up from a room, pick stuff up that may belong in the kitchen or bathroom. It'll make it all worth while to stay organized! Giggling over here as you demonstrate how you don't do "speed cleaning videos" lol! I'm having so much fun watching you clean, and I"ll pause so I can do some cleaning myself! So much fun!

    Normally I watch your videos with my morning coffee. But today I got off my bahookie and worked along side you and it made the task easier somehow. It's interesting what triggers us to get things done. My husband enjoys listening to your videos, especially the cooking ones and when you talk about life in Scotland as that is part of his heritage. Thanks for your inspiration!

    Happy Monday! It is Memorial Day holiday here in the states. I was happy to listen to a longer video as it encouraged me to walk 10 extra minutes on the treadmil😊70 minutes done which was 3.5 miles, plus an upper arm workout. Now, off to do my WHB! I got a new "swoosh-swoosh" mop coming tomorrow after seeing yours! It was a bargain buy, and will work perfect for our place. I like your rearranged LR! I used to love moving the furniture around in our previous larger home. It always gave a more "hyggely" feeling to the room, like a fresh, new coziness! Now, our LR is so small, that I have to think hard about how to move things for hygee😁😉 But, I am encouraged by the 60/30/10 philosophy. Ours would be greyish- beige 30, white 60, and 10, maybe a minimal misc accessories color, like clear green or navy.

    I LOVE changing the furniture around! Not a lot of scope for it in this house, but I still do a bit. I think I might do my bedroom... on another note: keeping routines and sticking to that timer is getting me through this busy time of year! I'm working on FOUR vegetable gardens and my time AND energy are spread thin! We finally got summer here... your heat wave has moved in! It has been 32 - 34°C here since Friday and is to continue through Tues! I finally turned the A/C on last night - made it 2 1/2 days without, but the humidity is rising. Thanks for your guidance and inspiration!

    My mom was always so insistent that we clean off the living room table before we went to bed, put the remote near the tv, fold up the blankets and put the pillows back in place. I always thought she was ridiculous but now that I live in my own, I can see her point.

    P.S. (Diane, I just wanted to send this "Thank you" note to you.) I was doing my WHB today and changing out the sheets. I wanted to add that it always helps to motivate me by the act of playing one of your "changing the sheets" videos. As I was changing the duvet, I realized how thankful I was for your method of inside-out duvet, grabbing the 2 corners and then shaking the duvet inside. Ours is king-sized, and before your tips, I had never been able to change out the duvet so effortlessly and happily! So..THANK YOU for this teaching moment...along with the quick dusting of the end tables and dresser with the pillowcases. You have made my WHB task not a "dreaded one" anymore, and our bedroom now feels like a spa everyday with the fresh linens weekly! So... here's to a big shout out to you to say: Thank you!!!

    Like your new arrangement. You're doing a great job training your son, he'll be a good helpful husband someday. 😀. Are you the pianist of the family? It's Memorial Day here in the States so other than my daily routines I'm choosing fun today. A real scorcher here today, it's 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) and it isn't even 10am yet. 🌞🇺🇸🤓. Have a great week!

    I know what you mean feeling energized when you're dressed to shoes. I feel more energized in comfy clothes (leggings, but not loose sweatpants or pajama pants I think because I hate stepping on them if they're long) for some reason I can't stand working or being in the house with jeans on, to constricting. To each their own!

      Have a look in your local bookshop and see which one feels "right" for you and for your needs. It will depend on what size of handwriting you have, if you want to also make notes, write down meals, etc.

    ❣Hi, Diane, I've the same dust-thingy in green and will use it soon;-)... and I like to move things around, too. I've moved the sofa area over to the book shelves and now I see, the books need a 'makeover'... We've such an amount of books, that thinking about going through them make me sweating... we rarely use the Enzyclopadias, we ask Mr. Google ... maybe I'll start with them, because 1978 isn't very up to date. They were so expensive at that time, that I'm hesitating to throw them away. What, if the Internet has a blackout?? These thoughts are the stones on my way...where I sit down and complain instead of starting. Well, anyway, you did a good job and really, you don't need a gym;-): up and down, bowing and stretching, all exercises are included and it didn't cost you an øre! After some thunder and rain yesterday the sun is back and I'll start my 'sun-reading-outdoor routine', of course after my indoor routine:-))). Thank you for keeping us on the road to a calming sourrounding. Love, Monika❣

      Monika Marsollek LOL, Monika! 😄If the internet comes crashing down, I think you will have other things on your mind than dusty, out-of-date reference books 😁 Have a lovely day! ☔☀️

    The 60-30-10 pattern is a very helpful concept for room/home harmony. I will start working with it; thanks! I am painting the house and want to paint the living room & dining area a nice white. The problem is which "white". I have sample patches all over the walls!!! I don't want anything too yellow, too bluish or too bright. Can I ask which type of white you have on your walls? I've noticed that "white" walls are very popular in the north countries. All ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    • @margaretarkes5137
      @margaretarkes5137 6 років тому

      Most common white is RAL 9010

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  6 років тому

      We always go for a white which has a teeny tiny bit of warm yellow in it, in order to give the room a little warmth.

      I can donate the ones to the library that we don’t love and pare them down to start. We have been donating other books to our library, since our children have grown. Hopefully soon there may be room on the bookshelves for the remaining music books.
