Hi Diane, your new Ikea purchase is a quillo. I made them for my grannies in the 1990s and my Mum made beautiful patchwork quillos for my kids when they were babies.
Ahhh that made my day 😍 funny how different ideas work for different people!! I love your Easter candles so cosy looking. Also it’s not a Monday until we’ve had a skoosh skoosh!!! 😂 xxx
Thank you so much, Yvonne! I still can't understand how there are so many subscribers...thank you all so much for your support - I love that we have a fun, friendly community here! 🎉❤
You have a “quillow!” It’s a quilt and a pillow! How pretty! I made one in a quilted pattern years ago but I like the simply stylish version you got at ikea!
Love that blanket/pillow! For my wkly home blessing hour I'll be splitting it up throughout the wk this time. Usually do all tasks on Mon but I've been around some "sickies" this wk-end and feeling a little "buggy" and I don't want to push it! Today I'll vacuum because that is most needed.
It's a "quillo" - a quilt in a pillow. My sister in law gave me one in the early 1990's, but it's been decluttered. (Mine was out of printed fabric that didn't match my home.) I kinda miss it.😂
My husband's name is Robert, so he had a good laugh this weekend when I used your "Bob's your uncle" phrase. lol. Enjoy having your kids home, have blessed Easter week.⛪️🌼🐇🐣 I used to sew those pillow blankets for craft fairs, here they are called Quillows, a cross between a quilt and a pillow. I haven't been to an IKEA yet. Our closest one is a couple hours away...maybe someday. Thanks for the Monday morning motivation. Shoes on ✅ morning routine done ✅ list for the day's to dos ✅ and it isn't even 7am yet. 🤗
Good morning, We had a dusting of snow and we are hoping for spring after this! Easter tree is up and planning meals while you work this morning. Morning routine done! Off to the gym!
Have a lovely Easter break. As usual you inspire me to get off my 'duff' and get moving. Love the IKEA pillow/blanket. I have got to get me one😁😁. 🖖🏼❤️
I like your videos Diane keep them coming they motivates me, also you say don't keep things for best like with candles and cloths and its true as a child you had your Sunday best and I use to think that way, nice clothes for going out and wouldn't wear nice cloths for indoors but I'm getting there,i think u always look smart , so thanks a lot showing me the fly system and a lot more
The remote holder is great. They stop me losing remotes down the sides of my armchairs! GREAT ADVICE ABOUT NOT FEELING GUILTY. Do you have to do some treatment to your floors occasionally? I use either use micro fibre squiffer mop and squish squish or steam clean mine but my son's flooring is oak so needs special treatment. My sister sands her parquet every couple of years then renovates it. Thank goodness I don't have to bother with all that. I 've been to recycle tip today and took old bathroom cabinet and cane set of drawers Go me. Looking for for something from the lounge for 40 day challenge. Sure to find something. DO HAVE LOVELY TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY. It's precious. Thanks for another great video lol Margaret in Wales N
Ohh must have that soft blanket! :-0 Thanks for the good mood video today. I trited myself with that after doing (half) of a nasty job in the livingroom. I started Flylady in Oktober and now I reached a deep deep cleaning point in our "bookcases". Bourght a new cleaningprodukt and descovered old nicotin on it even its 7 years ago that we smoked inside. Yeiks! Glad I have learned to brake things up in 15 in. at a time and to now I have the whole week to do it and even will be back to dubble check in a month. It doesn't have to be perfect - just do it..I'm telling myself. ;-) Have a nice day - may the sun be with you ;-)
Hi, Diane. Maybe this is something for one of your Q&A videos in the future. Do you do anything special to clean your window blinds, and how often? Also, do people wash their walls anymore? I've checked out so many videos and blogs with Spring cleaning, seasonal, yearly cleaning lists, and it seems like washing walls is never mentioned. I used to do the whole old-fashioned Spring cleaning thing each Spring and Autumn where if it didn't live and breathe, it got scrubbed. lol Now I don't do that big deal anymore and the Flylady way makes it simple to just clean a little bit consistently to keep the house clean, but I am baffled as how to handle the walls. Any advice? Thanks.
Hello there! I talked about this a few weeks back but I'll mention it again in the next Q & A. Our blinds are cloth (not metal), so I sometimes give them a quick dust but perhaps only once/twice a year. I don't think I've ever washed a wall in my life and it's not something we would do here! LOL! But I suppose it will depend on your circumstances/your climate (if you smoke indoors, if there's a lot of sand blowing, etc.) If it's something you need to do, decide how often it should be done and add it to your Control Journal.
Thanks for such a quick answer! Maybe back in the days when people heated with coal and wood, walls would need to have soot washed away? And today's cleaner heating systems are why washing walls has dropped off the radar? I didn't consider smoking. We used to smoke about 30 years ago and I can remember washing the walls and having brown rivulets of nicotine run down the walls. With so fewer smokers today, walls would stay clean. I will think about this. Perhaps I only need to add the kitchen walls to my control journal, not the whole house. :-)
We don't wash our blinds (they are made of a very thin fabric) and don't get dirty - I sometimes give them a quick dust. If it's something you need to do because of your circumstances/climate, decide how often it should be done and add it to your Control Journal 😀
Happy Monday! Love to used socks for dusting mitts, too. BTW Flying Tiger Copenhagen UA-cam channel has just posted a short cleaning video, only 21 seconds long, a little skoosh skoosh! Check it out, it's a riot! ...called clean moves #1. My DD 30 moving to Europe soon, near her sweetheart. Reminds me of you and your dear DH 20 years ago when you moved to DK. So the wedding will be in Europe! 👰 Take care, Reggie in NY

I use a cheap ikea glass vase for all the remote controls then that goes in the dishwasher from time to time :)
Maisy Oliver great idea!
In Australia we call that pillow/blanket a Quillow .
In other words a quilt and a pillow..
Ohh must have that soft blanket! :-0

Great idea for blanket tyrn into neat pillow. Truly, you have shown me 15 minutes makes a difference. Off to do my routines now.
You know every American just went “POT PLANTS?! Does she mean marijuana?!” No, friends! She means “pottED plants” - plants in a pot! Hahaha!!
LOL! Don't you just love the difference between British English and American English? 😀
