Why do you keep doing that? Tourette's and Types of Tics!

  • I got diagnosed with Tourette's at the age of twenty-one, after it appeared the year before that. Here is a basic explanation of the four types of tics that I (and everyone with Tourette's) experiences!
Every person with Tourette's experiences their tics and their Tourette's differently. All the examples I give are from my singular experience and shouldn't be taken as universal.
Want to learn more about how I got diagnosed with Tourette's? Tell me in the comments and like the video!

Bless you for uploading this I haven't been diagnosed with Tourette's which makes it difficult for me to tell people why I roll my eyes or do some weird spasm in my neck and make weird sounds lol not the most fun my parents don't think it's that bad so they haven't even thought about gettsidvdj it checked out but I just wanted to say thank you for putting up this video it means a lot and helps loads I'm sure x

Write a note to bring it up to your doctor next time you have a check-up or something. Having a diagnosis can make a huge difference in just explaining what is going on. You aren't alone though. A lot of people go throughout their lives un-diagnosed.

Woah 20 years old when you got tics?! I couldn’t even imagine. I’ve had them since I was 5 and they’ve steadily gotten worse through the last 10 years. That was hard enough as it was, let alone if I hadn’t had them before.

I hate when I go to a fast food restaurant and they are trying to hand me my things but my head is not ready to look at them like my eyes are so I have to shake my head and arms to get my face to look at the food so I can grab it and more often the not they won't pay attention to me and drop my food or money. it's fun. I also hum the Mario theme song and I work in a spa so you can imagine when I have a client falling asleep a my pedicure chair how great it is when at the tippy top of my lungs I screech Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo do do Doo da da da da da. it's a really fun time. Surprisingly enough I have only had like 10 people ask me out of hundreds why I am shaking my head. I did however have a boss one time try to write me up for rolling my eyes at him and I had to explain to him what was really going on. other than that my bosses just know before I come in. it could always be worse! thank you for telling our story not just yours but all of us❤

I have a question and I hope anyone answers soon🥺 I’m 14 and I’ve always had tics especially vocal ones. I use to think it’s a burst of excitement or something (when I was younger). But when I turned 14 my tics became so violent and this is when I realized that this might not be normal. Then I’ve seen a TikTok about tic disorders
But the girl in the TikTok said that they mostly appear at the ages of 5/6 and I’m 14. So I’m confused.

I don't think its Tourettes because I don't really have a vocal tic unless whistling something like a song for no reason and not knowing your whistling...
