I can't find the Follow me feature anywhere, not like it's shown in this video, not by clicking on my avatar, both with my work and personal account. Also tested this on the site of Microsoft Whiteboard, web-based Teams and desktop Teams. Has this feature been removed?
It depends on how the system is set up by your IT Department - this video was done using my own business account, but my school account also doesn’t have the “My Templates” option
Unfortunately, this is something that the Whiteboard currently is weaker on - fonts, and text items. I am hoping that they will update these in the future - as I think it would be very nice to have more formatting options for text. (As well as handwriting to text conversion)
It could be. If you go to the top-right and click the gear icon (where you can change background and such) - then click the “Privacy and Security” link. See if everything is turned to “allow”. If it’s greyed out, then it could be an IT policy not allowing “Connected Experiences”
I use a few screen recorder apps - almost all of them allow for picture-in-picture. It depends on what you are specifically looking for, but Camtasia is my favourite.
Yes - you can import slides and then use screen recording. However, if you are using PowerPoint, you can actually just write on the presentation and send that too.
No more laser pointer, right? I am just now learning WhiteBoard, watched one of your earlier videos and you had a laser pointer but I cannot find it. Just me or was that permanently removed? or is that only visible while using with teams? Also, I don't see a way to select whether to allow others to edit the WB or view only. I suppose that is only an option in MS Teams...?
The laser pointer is still there - it’s under the pens between the highlighter and the eraser. For sharing settings, when you select the share, there is an arrow next to the “add name” box that allows you to select “can edit” or “can view” Let me know if you need any help with those features.
@@LearningandTechnology It looks like you can only import a pdf and each page just imports as an object with no way to page through them. Not really useable. A better solution would be if PP could use whiteboard as an addon. There's an app called classpoint which works that way but I like whiteboard's features much better.
I started to use New Teams but can't share my Whiteboard to external people on a Shared Channel. You mentioned IT needs change permission settings, to you know which ones? I've looked but came up empty.
In the Office365 Admin Center there is a Teams Admin Center where all the settings are. There are settings for Apps and such. I’m not on my computer at the moment, but once in that Teams Center there are settings for Meetings, Apps and in there should be on/off sliders for every setting.
@LearningandTechnology I will have another look. I tried to use OneNote as the replacement as that could be shared. I couldn't drop Images into OneNote which I am sure could previously. The joys of beta testing New Teams.
Thank you very much for your videos - I am at the start of my learning journey with whiteboard, I would like to use it as part of my flipped classroom which needs me to be able to record me creating the white board - like you have done - how have you recorded the white board ? even better how did you add your talking head? Thank you Louisa
Are those features for people who pay for a Microsoft 365 subscription? I'm looking for a replacement for Jamboard (it will sadly be discontinued), when I watched this video and tried to use the Microsoft Whiteboard I could barely see any of the same features as seen in this video.
I saw you move Bruce's comment a bit to the left - As the whiteboard owner are you the ONLY one who can move comments? Or do you know if anyone currently collaborating do so to anyone's comments? This could be useful for help cleaning up a whiteboard, but also not so good if comments get moved out of the location/context of the original commenter. I don't see a way to 'lock' comments in place, for example. Any idea?
I haven’t noticed this. I’m using a graphics tablet and everything seems quite smooth. One thing to check is whether your system is running well - if you have a lot of background processing happening then it can affect things.
if you go into the top-right settings menu - set it to NOT automatically “enhance inked shapes” - that will prevent some letters being “shaped” into circles and squares and such.

I really appreciate the abillity to create my own templates! Thanks for showing it!
Amazing. So helpful. Thank you so much.
Yes, great detailed explaination of the majority of features.
Great Sir
Excellent outstanding Elaborated explanations with in Time
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Anyone know how to rotate a line or a grouped drawing? would like to rotate some lines that went a bit of back horizontal again... thx for ur answere
How do you manage to have My Templates menu? I cannot see it in my desktop Whiteboard.
It depends on how the system is set up by your IT Department - this video was done using my own business account, but my school account also doesn’t have the “My Templates” option
What about the old font? which was similar to the hand-written font.
how can I get back the previous font?

It's really helpful, thanks for your efforts ✨
My Whiteboard app does not show these updates. Is that something our IT dept needs to update?

Almost all features are useful. Thanks for sharing in detailed way.
Thank YOU for watching and taking the time to comment - appreciate it!
Thanks for your helpful video. I cannot find the 'follow me' option. Any guess why? Do I need to change something in settings?
Thank you! This was a helpful video.
Which app do you use so you can be on the corner during the presentation? Thanks!

@@LearningandTechnology thanks! 🙏
Can I record video of explaining white board with slides and send to client
Yes - you can import slides and then use screen recording.

I am not able to move the toolbox i want it on top but its not shifting
It doesn’t allow you to move it. It’s always on the bottom.
I wish it was possible to use a PP slideshow with whiteboard, using whiteboard for annotation. The drawing tools within Powerpoint aren't very good.
You can import the PowerPoint slides into Whiteboard, which is one way. However, navigation through them isn’t quite as smooth.

@@chrisyoung8062 I agree 100% - it would be a great add on. There is an App called EpicPen that I use sometimes for on-screen annotations.

@@FliesEyes yes indeed! Sometimes it’s a setting hiding somewhere and sometimes it’s just a feature that seems to disappear and reappear 😀

I'm using a program called Camtasia for my recording of screens - it is pretty cool and the latest version makes the talking head part super easy.
Great thank you very much

How to create a new page in teams whiteboard?
Are those features for people who pay for a Microsoft 365 subscription? I'm looking for a replacement for Jamboard (it will sadly be discontinued), when I watched this video and tried to use the Microsoft Whiteboard I could barely see any of the same features as seen in this video.
I do have Office365 - so I would need to check what I can access when logged out. I’ll take a look.
@@LearningandTechnology I appreciate your help. 🤝
I'd like to know if there's a follow-up so I can stop and continue another time.😀

I was using two computers and I think any movement was Bruce 😀
Whiteboard needs dynamic connectors and similar features to make Mind Maps.
That would be awesome - I’d also love the ability to hide and reveal objects
M$ has this in their roadmap for Nov 2023 !!
Whiteboard must include custom percentage zoom level.
Thank you...
You’re most welcome!
Compared to older versions,Handwriting is very poor in Microsoft whiteboard. I can see the difference based on other whiteboard apps usage
I haven’t noticed this. I’m using a graphics tablet and everything seems quite smooth.

very good
how can I stop it to reshape my handwriting? it is very annoying
if you go into the top-right settings menu - set it to NOT automatically “enhance inked shapes” - that will prevent some letters being “shaped” into circles and squares and such.
i like ur brain light
These are such low-level things - the whiteboard is still a really crappy app.
I would disagree (obviously) - the Whiteboard is simple, but extremely useful.
I’d love to see what high level options you have Craig
