Saw this one at NBAA and it truly is a great plane and I even love the CLAY LACY color/logo - very classy - got to land on East River NY and in Hamptons, saves wear and tear on the G650 and definitely great complement to anybody's bigger jet
Very nice aircraft, but at 2.8 million I’m not too sure how many outfits will be able to operate it. I know in northern Canada piston floats are still king.
Why not pressurization option (C-Caravan too)? Really like the idea of getting above weather, as much as possible. Other than that, love the Kodiak and the Cessna Caravan.👍🇺🇸💪
The mission of these planes is one where pressurization is simply unnecessary. The excess weight to build a pressurizable fuselage would take away from useful load. These planes don't have the range or speed to warrant high-altitude travel.
Kodiak is an awesome plane intended for a niche market & I look at the Kodiak as a Cessna on steroids. Knowing how expensive a Kodiak is if you see one give the owner a hug as it is $rich people like that who can give you gainful employment.
I love how a $300,000 Beaver from the 1940s will pretty much do anything this one can at $2.8M. Sorry, that's a tough sell. Even an upgraded Boss Beaver with a pt6 and and floats is half that cost. And $400,000 just for a set of floats? You can get 2 more planes for that! Dude! Wtf is wrong with these people? -"we need a plane to take cargo in and out of hard to reach areas. But we don't want to spend any less than 2 mil on it" Said no one, ever.
I'm only just beginning to learn about planes, but... from what I gather so far, it's actually a blatant copy of the dehavilund beaver (not sure if I spelled that correctly).

Well done review. Perfect for the Lake House.
Will be seeing the Kodiak (and you Larry) at KOSH!
Maravilhoso espetacular!!!! 🤔😘😘👏
this is a dream plane

What's up with the pic of a dual-throttle taped together?
This would work nicely between CYTZ and cottage country.

I remember when the series 1 came out - they were $1.1m, but that was 2007.
@@barrettfrederick12 , what are you talking about? I'm talking airplanes, not some tv subscription service
You guys should put a push button detachable ceiling and chairs with parachutes that eject. That would be something huh?
What is the lead time to order a QK
Could a 2600 lb. 22 ft x 8 ft boat be transported between the floats.?
No. Not rated for external load.
has quest thought about building an aircraft with a much bigger engine? and possibly more fuel on board?
This one was bought by clay lacy

Remarkable item.....
Mmmmmm.

Mr. Brown should have put you in the left seat.

Could not understand a single measurement he gave! Metric please!
@laviateur de TRP the measurements are all standard to the aircraft industry
you must be french
As everything is in imperial measurements, this is not for International operations.
The international standard for altitude, speed, and distance are feet, knots, and nautical miles, respectively.
‘Clean sheet design’ my arse. It’s a blatant copy of the Cessna Caravan
No it's not!
It is not

$2.8 million? For a copied Caravan; who are they kidding. Pilatus PC6 has a proven track record of 50 years and much cheaper.
